Fatah official says the leadership supports peaceful resistance, no war

“Fatah Central Committee Member [and Commissioner of Arab Relations] Abbas Zaki stated that the leadership and the official Palestinian echelon are interested in giving free rein to the peaceful wishes of the people, not in war against the occupation state, and emphasized that inflicting economic loss on the occupation state will affect its security.
Zaki stated today [Oct. 18, 2015], Sunday, in an interview with Mawtini Radio: ‘We are a people under attack, and it is our right to defend ourselves, our land and our property.’ He added:
‘We are a people that creates miracles, and the occupation state only reaps disasters from its crimes against our people.’ Zaki stressed that the official Palestinian echelon is interested in giving free reign to the peaceful wishes of the people, not in war or gunfire. Moreover, he emphasized that an economic loss of 5 billion dollars per month for the Israeli occupation state will affect its security, bearing in mind the fact that economy is the main pillar of security.”
