Fatah celebrates most lethal attack in Israeli history, with event attended by senior PA leaders

Ma'an TV News, on ceremony to mark 38th anniversary of terrorist Dalal Mughrabi’s death as a "Martyr"

Sign at ceremony: "Palestinian National Liberation Movement – Fatah
Welcome to the Return to the Roots ceremony
To mark the anniversary of [the death of] Martyr (Shahida) Dalal Mughrabi, Bride of Palestine, and her comrades"

Fatah Central Committee member Abbas Zaki (above): "She [Dalal Mughrabi] was chosen from among the young men to be the leader of the mission, and the director of the mission was [the person] of stature, Abu Jihad, who chose her to lead this mission. This mission is what established the Republic of Palestine for about 50 hours. Israel did not know what happened, they faced difficulties, even Ehud Barak (a military unit commander at the time, later served as Prime Minister of Israel –Ed.) when he arrived and found she was a woman, he 'stepped on her head.' They did not expect that the heroism, courage and will would be present in this mission leader [Dalal], when they found out she was a woman."

Ma'an TV newsreader: "If so, this marking of the 38th anniversary of the departure of Martyr and leader Dalal Mughrabi, who announced the establishment of the State of Palestine near her birthplace. However the Palestinian demand still [stands] for the return of her pure body, which has been held by Israel since her death as a Martyr."

Advisor to PA Chairman Abbas on NGOs and Fatah Central Committee member Sultan Abu Al-Einein (above):
"Those from the places of exile and Diaspora who have made Palestine into a [living viable cause] so that this homeland would be ours. They are worthy of us marking the anniversary [of their death] and we will insist on recovering the bodies of those [who constitute] the bridge to this homeland, on which we will establish the State of Palestine."

The Ma'an TV newsreader talks about the path of sacrifice and the long struggle of the Palestinian people for an independent state, for which the Martyrs sacrificed.
Ma'an TV newsreader: "Thirty-eight years have passed since this daring quality operation (i.e., terror attack in which 37 were murdered) was carried out, which was led by the young 20-year-old Dalal Mughrabi, which highlighted the quality participation of the woman in all forms of the Palestinian struggle."

Dalal Mughrabi led the most lethal terror attack in Israel’s history, known as the Coastal Road massacre, in 1978, when she and other Fatah terrorists hijacked a bus on Israel's Coastal Highway, killing 37 civilians, 12 of them children, and wounding over 70.

Abu Jihad (Khalil Al-Wazir) was a founder of Fatah and deputy to Yasser Arafat. He headed the PLO terror organization's military wing and also planned many deadly Fatah terror attacks. These attacks, which killed a total of 125 Israelis, included the most lethal in Israeli history - the hijacking of a bus and killing of 37 civilians, 12 of them children.
