Fatah calls to escalate violence in solidarity with hunger striking prisoners; they are “fighters who opposed the colonialist occupation”

Headline: “The Fatah Revolutionary Council called to strengthen the support for the prisoners by escalating the popular resistance”

“The Fatah Movement Revolutionary Council yesterday [May 11, 2017] called on the national and Islamic factions to join the national freedom and dignity [hunger] strike battle of the prisoners.
The Council expressed appreciation in a statement for the participation of some of the factions’ leadership members in the strike, and in conjunction praised the popular and official public support for the strike.
The Council called to expand the support and aid for the brave prisoners by escalating the popular resistance (i.e., term used by Palestinians, which also refers to the use of violence) in the areas of friction with the occupation and its settlers…
The statement said: ‘This is a legitimate strike that is being waged by free fighters who opposed the colonialist occupation - resistance that is consistent with international law and the decisions of the international bodies.’”

The terms "all means," "peaceful uprising/resistance,” and “popular uprising/resistance" are ‎often used by PA leaders to refer to events that include violence and deadly terror ‎against Israeli civilians such as rock-throwing, stabbings and even shootings. See ‎Mahmoud Abbas' reference to murderous terror as "peaceful" during the 2015-2016 ‎terror wave (“The Knife Intifada”), which included numerous stabbings, shootings and car ramming attacks in which 40 people were killed (36 Israelis, 1 Palestinian, 2 Americans and 1 Eritrean) and hundreds wounded: http://palwatch.org/main.aspx?fi=157&doc_id=16437
