Hamas TV entertains children with rocket sounds

Hamas TV entertains children with sound of rockets
"to encourage and excite our audience,
our children friends"

Hamas official: "Hamas will continue to build rockets...
until it defeats the enemy...
We will continue on the path of Jihad and Martyrdom"

In its latest episode, Hamas TV's
children's program Tomorrow's Pioneers chose to teach young viewers what a rocket sounds like "when it is launched from us" and "when it reaches them [the Israelis]." [Al-Aqsa TV (Hamas), June 20, 2014]

As the child host on the program encouraged the program's guest, an adult mimic, to do "a last imitation of the sound of our rockets," the man-sized bee puppet Nahul requested he make "the sound of the explosion." These sounds were "to encourage and excite our audience, our children friends," the child host explained. Upon hearing the mimic make a rocket sound, a child in the studio identified it as "the M-75" rocket. After the mimic explained that this was the sound of a rocket being launched, the child host requested he imitate the sound a rocket makes "when it reaches them [the Israelis]." Nahul the bee then eagerly made the sound of an exploding rocket.

Around the same time, Hamas Political Bureau member Khalil Al-Hayya vowed that

"Hamas and its [Izz A-Din Al-Qassam] Brigades (Hamasmilitary wing), will continue to dig tunnels, build rockets and cross seas until it defeats the enemy... We will continue on the path of Jihad and Martyrdom (Shahada). O children of the resistance, O Al-Qassam [Brigades], this is the only way; march forward, [until] either victory or Martyrdom.'"

Last month, Palestinian Media Watch reported that the same Hamas TV children's program encouraged Palestinian children to "shoot all the Jews."

Another episode of the program taught children to identify "with the resistance" and to reject negotiations with Israel:

Child host: "Negotiation, Nahul, means that we and the Zionists will become friends. It means we'll forgive them for the blood of all the Martyrs who died."
Nahul the bee: "Impossible."
Child host: "It means that Jerusalem, half will be for us and half for them. And of course this is only if they agree."
Nahul the bee: "You mean, Lin, that a Jew will come and pray next to me and I'll pray with him? No. That's impossible."
Child host: "Negotiation means that we stop the Jihad fighters, torture them and kill them. It means that 90% of Palestine, which is our land, will be the Jews' and not ours."
Nahul the bee: "No. I don't agree. Impossible."
Child host: "Are you with them or with the resistance?"
Nahul the bee: "Am I with the negotiation or with the resistance?"
Child host: "Yes."
Nahul the bee: "Lin, I'm with the bang bang (indicates a gun with his hands). But don't tell anyone."

PMW has also documented that Hamas uses this program to teach children to deny Israel's existence and right to exist, and that the same messages are transmitted to children on official Palestinian Authority TV.

The following are excerpts from the Hamas TV children's program Tomorrow's Pioneers
that entertained children with the sound of rockets and from the official PA daily report on Hamas official Al-Hayya's speech:

Child host: Do a last imitation of the sound of our rockets.
Adult guest: Rockets?
Nahul: The sound of the explosion.
Child host: To encourage and excite our audience, our children friends.
(Guest makes rocket sound)
Boy: That's the M-75.
Adult guest: The sound of a rocket when it's launched from us, the M-75.
Child host: And when it reaches them [the Israelis]?
Adult guest: I can't hear it.
Nahul: No, no, I heard it, I was in the clouds. I heard it go (makes explosion sound).

Note: The M-75 is a long-range rocket with a range of 70 to 75 km. During Israel's Operation Pillar of Defense, which aimed at destroying the terror infrastructure in the Gaza Strip in November 2012, Hamas fired this rocket in the direction of Jerusalem and of Tel Aviv.

“In a speech held during the funeral of several Hamas fighters, who were killed in an explosion in a tunnel in Gaza last Thursday, Hamas Political Bureau member Khalil Al-Hayya said that ‘Hamas and its Brigades (the Al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas’ military wing), will continue to dig tunnels, build rockets and cross seas until it defeats the enemy.’”
Al-Hayya added: ‘We will continue on the path of Jihad and Martyrdom (Shahada). O children of the resistance, O Al-Qassam [Brigades], this is the only way; march forward, [until] either victory or Martyrdom.’”
