PA Governor lauds Martyrs’ perfumed blood

PA Governor lauds Martyrs’ perfumed blood:

Gov. of Ramallah:

  • The Martyrs “perfume[d] the ground with the scent of their blood” and “saturated the land of Palestine with the fragrance of their blood”
Fatah:
  • “Glory and eternal life to our righteous Martyrs; your participation [in a ceremony] is loyalty to the Martyrs' blood"

District Governor of Ramallah Laila Ghannam has declared that the PA will stay faithful to the “path” of the “Martyrs.” During a visit to the “monument in memory of the Martyrs” on the Muslim holiday Eid Al-Adha together with representatives of the PA Security Forces, she glorified the Palestinian “Martyrs” - the majority of whom are terrorists killed during their attacks against Israelis - for “perfuming the ground with the scent of their blood,” which was “spilled for the epic of struggle whose title is Palestine”:
“She... emphasized that our Martyrs will always remain in our hearts and souls, and we will all remain loyal to their path until we are liberated from the occupation and realize everything for which they died as Martyrs... who are perfuming the ground with the scent of their blood that was spilled for the epic of struggle whose title is Palestine.

A few days earlier, while Ghannam was seeing families of “Martyrs” off to Mecca, she “asked that Allah have mercy on the souls of their sons who have saturated the land of Palestine with the fragrance of their blood...” and “mentioned the virtues of the Martyrs who gave their blood for the homeland." [Donia Al-Watan, independent Palestinian news agency, Aug. 27, 2017] Palestinian Media Watch has documented that Ghannam is an avid supporter of terrorist murderers. On the morning after murderer Muhannad Halabi killed 2 Israelis in the Old City of Jerusalem in October 2015, and terrorist Fadi Alloun stabbed and wounded another Israeli - and both terrorists were killed by Israeli soldiers during their attacks - Ghannam posted the following praise for them as “Martyrs” on Facebook:

“Palestine’s morning
A morning fragranced by the blood of the Martyrs (Shahids)
The morning of wounded Jerusalem
Have a morning of pride and honor.”
[Facebook, "Friends of Dr. Laila Ghannam," Oct. 4, 2015]

PMW has documented the Palestinian almost cult-like fascination with the “blood of the Martyrs.”

When Fatah’s Bethlehem Branch and the Taqua Municipality invited people to participate in a “eulogy rally for heroic Martyr Muhammad Tanouh” - a terrorist, who attempted to stab Israeli soldiers - the invitation (right) blessed the “righteous Martyrs” with “glory and eternal life” while stressing that by participating, people would show their “loyalty to the Martyrs' blood." [Facebook page of the Fatah Movement - Bethlehem Branch, Sept. 6, 2017]

When Israel removed its security measures from the Temple Mount following violent Palestinian riots and attacks, an article in the official PA daily stated that “Jerusalem won,” “thanks to the blood of those who died as Martyrs,”among other things. [Official PA daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, July 28, 2017]

Using the same rhetoric as PA official Ghannam, a PA TV news reporter reported this summer on the death of four Palestinian terrorists who had attacked Israeli police officers and soldiers with guns and knives, stating that:

The blood of the three Martyrs had not dried when the blood of another Martyr watered the ground of the homeland.”

[Official PA TV, Good Morning Jerusalem, June 23, 2017]

The following are longer excerpts of the reports mentioned above:

Headline: “The district governor of Ramallah laid wreathes of flowers on the Martyrs’ graves”
“District Governor of Ramallah and El-Bireh Laila Ghannam visited the monument in memory of the Martyrs (Shahids) of the Palestinian revolution in El-Bireh on Friday [Sept. 1, 2017] together with representatives of the [PA] Security Forces, laid wreathes of flowers, and asked that Allah have mercy on their souls.
Ghannam emphasized that our holidays will not be complete unless all of our male and female prisoners are released from the occupation’s prisons so they can enjoy freedom together with their relatives and loved ones. She also emphasized that our Martyrs will always remain in our hearts and souls, and we will all remain loyal to their path until we are liberated from the occupation and realize everything for which they died as Martyrs...
She also noted that the majority of our people and prisoners are receiving the [Eid Al-Adha] holiday with tears due to the absence of their sons, whose most basic human rights have been denied in the cells of the oppressive jailor, or who are perfuming the ground with the scent of their blood that was spilled for the epic of struggle whose title is Palestine.”
[WAFA, official PA news agency, Sept. 1, 2017]

Headline: "Laila Ghannam: The Martyrs' families are the best ambassadors for their homeland and their cause in the pilgrimage to Mecca"
"District Governor of Ramallah and El-Bireh Dr. Laila Ghannam said goodbye to the Martyrs' (Shahids') families from the district that are on their way to carrying out the ceremonies of the pilgrimage to Mecca, and asked that Allah have mercy on the souls of their sons who have saturated the land of Palestine with the fragrance of their blood...
The district governor blessed all of the pilgrims from the district in the framework of this spiritual journey, wished them a healthy and whole return to the homeland, and mentioned the virtues of the Martyrs who gave their blood for the homeland."
[Donia Al-Watan, independent Palestinian news agency, Aug. 27, 2017]

Headline: “Jerusalem won”
“The occupation did not make do with closing the Al-Aqsa Mosque and attacking its gates, but also carried out acts of defacing and theft of historical manuscripts, sweeping away soil from around the Al-Aqsa Mosque, uprooting trees, and removing ancient stones from the Lion’s Gate and the alleys of the Old City [of Jerusalem], and it also allowed extremist settlers to invade the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque plazas (sic., Israel temporarily closed the Temple Mount following a terror attack there and reopened it with security measures; see note below).
However, thanks to the blood of those who died as Martyrs (Shahids), were wounded, arrested, beaten, and dragged on the ground and in the alleys of Jerusalem; thanks to the throats of those who opposed and remained until the light of morning; thanks to those who withstood the sounds of the bullets, the ambulances, the shouts, and the curses; and thanks to those who distributed food and water to the worshippers and those awaiting victory, Jerusalem won.”
[Official PA daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, July 28, 2017]

Break-in/Invasion/attack of Al-Aqsa Mosque - The PA and its leaders misrepresent all of the Temple Mount as an integral part of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Therefore, they vilify any presence of Jews on the mount as an "invasion." It should be noted that Jews who visit the Temple Mount only enter some sections of the open areas, and do not enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque or the Dome of the Rock. Israeli police ban Jewish prayer at the Temple Mount because of threats of violence by Palestinians.

The mention of Israeli steps in Jerusalem refers to Israeli security measures at the Temple Mount, including metal detectors at the entrances, following an attack there on July 14, 2017, in which 2 Israeli border police officers were murdered by 3 Israeli Arab terrorists. On July 24, 2017, Israel decided to remove the metal detectors and security cameras it had placed at the site. The PA continued to demand that all measures including inspections at the entrances be removed, and Palestinians continued to riot. On July 27, 2017, PA religious leaders declared that all Israeli measures had been removed.

The invitation shows a picture of terrorist Muhammad Tanouh on the left, Yasser Arafat on the right, and at the top appears the Fatah logo that includes a grenade, crossed rifles, and the PA map of “Palestine” that presents all of Israel as “Palestine” together with the PA areas.

Muhammad Tanouh - Palestinian terrorist who attempted to stab Israeli soldiers at the entrance to the village of Taqua, south of Bethlehem, on July 20, 2017, and was shot and killed by them.

Official PA TV reporter: “Bara Ibrahim Saleh, Osama Ata, Adel Hassan Ankoush (i.e., terrorists, murdered 1) - Martyrs (Shahids) of the [Ramadan] month of great mercy who were shot by the occupation, after they carried out a stabbing and shooting operation that led to the killing of an Israeli soldier (sic., border policewoman Hadar Malka) and the injury of another by the Suleiman Cave (i.e., Zedekiah’s Cave) next to Damascus Gate [of Jerusalem’s Old City]. In addition, [Palestinians] from Jerusalem were wounded by the indiscriminate shooting of the occupation forces in order to begin a collective punishment of Jerusalem and its residents... The blood of the three Martyrs had not dried when the blood of another Martyr watered the ground of the homeland. Young Baha Imad Al- Harbawi, 23, was shot by the occupation and died as a Martyr next to the Jaba’ checkpoint northeast of Jerusalem, on the pretext that he tried to carry out a stabbing operation. [However,] no injury to the occupation’s ranks was documented.”
[Official PA TV, Good Morning Jerusalem, June 23, 2017]

Bara Saleh, Adel Ankoush, Osama Ata - three Palestinian terrorists who carried out a terror attack in Jerusalem on June 16, 2017. Two of the terrorists, one armed with an automatic weapon and the other with a knife, attacked Israeli police officers north of the Old City of Jerusalem. Seconds later a third terrorist stabbed and murdered Israeli border policewoman Hadas Malka, 23, at the Old City’s Damascus Gate as she and other officers were responding to the first attack. All three terrorists were shot and killed by the Israeli officers. Aside from Malka, four Israelis were wounded in the attack. ISIS initially claimed responsibility for the attack but Hamas rejected the claim, saying the terrorists were members of Hamas and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).

Baha Imad Al-Harbawi - 23-year-old Palestinian terrorist who attempted to stab Israeli soldiers at the Jaba’ checkpoint northeast of Jerusalem on June 20, 2017. The soldiers shot and killed him during his attack.
