Qalqilya governor: Balfour Declaration is a "crime against Palestinians" that "paved the way for the theft of their land"

Headline: "Conference on summary executions and persecuting their perpetrators in the International Criminal Court"
"During the conference organized by the Al-Quds Open University, the Authority for Political and National Guidance, and the Fatah Movement, titled The Summary Executions and Persecuting their Perpetrators in the International Criminal Court… [Qalqilya] District Governor [Rafe' Rawajbeh] noted that the crime of [the Israeli] occupation stretches from 1948 to the present, and emphasized that the occupation is a crime and that the Balfour Promise (i.e., Declaration) is a crime against the Palestinians as it paved the way for the theft of their land."

The Balfour Declaration of Nov. 2, 1917 was a letter from British Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour to Baron Rothschild stating that “His Majesty's government views with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people” and is seen as the basis for later international commitments to establish the State of Israel.
