PA government condemns UK's invitation to Netanyahu to celebrate 100th anniversary of Balfour Declaration

The government emphasized that instead of celebrating this anniversary, Britain must apologize to the Palestinian people and correct the historic mistake that it made, by recognizing the Palestinian state, supporting its establishment, and compensating the Palestinian people for what happened to it as a result of this human tragedy."
The Balfour Declaration of Nov. 2, 1917 was a letter from British Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour to Baron Rothschild stating that “His Majesty's government views with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people” and is seen as the basis for later international commitments to establish the State of Israel.
