PA depicts a world without Israel
Denying Israel’s right to exist
PA depicts a world without Israel
The Palestinian Authority makes no attempt to educate its people towards peace and coexistence with Israel. On the contrary, from every possible platform it repeatedly rejects Israel's right to exist, presents the conflict as a religious battle for Islam, depicts the establishment of Israel as an act of imperialism, and perpetuates a picture of the Middle East, both verbally and visually, in which Israel does not exist at all. Israel's destruction is said to be both inevitable and a Palestinian obligation.

The following description of Israel's founding in a Palestinian schoolbook represents the dominant dogma about Israel:

"Palestine’s war ended with a catastrophe that is unprecedented in history, when the Zionist gangs stole Palestine … and established the so-called State of Israel."
[Arabic Language, Analysis, Literature and Criticism, grade 12, p. 104]

This official PA map of "Palestine” was broadcast on PA TV in September 2011. The map includes both the PA areas and all of Israel (excluding the Golan Heights) wrapped in the Palestinian flag - a symbol of Palestinian sovereignty over the whole area - and has a key through it, symbolizing ownership. Similar maps presenting all of Israel as "Palestine" appear in Palestinian schoolbooks and are shown regularly on PA TV.
Denying Israel's right to exist
The Palestinian Authority adamantly rejects Israel’s right to exist and rewrites history to deny the 3,000-year-old connection of Jews to the Land Israel. [See "Rewriting History" section.] The essential message of the PA to its people is that Jews have no historical connection to the land, and that the State of Israel was created by the colonial powers for two reasons: to rid their countries of Jews, and to establish a colonial bridgehead in order to control the region. One particularly horrific expression of this ideology appeared in the official PA daily as far back as 1998:

“The difference between Hitler and [British Foreign Minister] Balfour was simple: the former [Hitler] did not have colonies to send the Jews to, so he destroyed them, whereas Balfour ...[turned] Palestine into his colony and sent the Jews. Balfour is Hitler with colonies, while Hitler is Balfour without colonies. They both wanted to get rid of the Jews...Zionism was crucial to the defense of the West, [by] ridding Europe of the burden of the Jews.”
[Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Dec. 6, 1998]

This video of Palestinian Ambassador to Lebanon, Abbas Zaki, shows how this distortion continues to be expressed:

"We must understand why Israel was established … [The Europeans] wanted to get rid of the Jews. … At that same time, energy [oil] was discovered in the Arab region … Then, they solved the [Jewish] problem by exporting [the Jews] to Israel [and at same time] they imposed their hegemony on the region’s natural resources. The [purpose of the] State of Israel is not for the Jews but it is an ongoing [colonial] project, an outpost for Imperialism.”

Official PA daily implies Jews have no connection to land of Israel, says “Judaism is a religion, and is not a nationality in any way”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, June 5, 2016
Headline: “Between complete refusal and accepting the facts”
“The great lie, as we know, which was spread by the leaders of the Zionist movement such as Israel Zangwill (i.e., a British author and a close associate of Theodor Herzl) and Theodor Herzl (i.e., one of the founders of the modern Zionist movement), says that Palestine is ‘a land without a people for a people without a land.’ In this slogan there is no truth of any kind, as Palestine and its people existed together, and as the Jews were citizens of the lands from which they came in ships of the Zionist movement project. Likewise, Judaism is a religion, and is not a nationality in any way, and the ‘Ashkenazi’ Western Jews tried and are still trying to change Judaism into that.”
Abbas' advisor: Jews “are thieves who stole the land… we have been here for 5,000 years”
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, June 3, 2016

Mahmoud Abbas' advisor on Religious and Islamic Affairs, Mahmoud Al-Habbash: "They [the Jews] claim that there was a Temple here. Those are unfounded claims, myths, and rumors. However, the problem between us and them is not a problem of religious or historical narrative. The problem is that they are thieves. The problem is that they are thieves who stole the land, and who want to steal the history, but history cannot change and cannot be falsified. The facts bear witness to it. We have been here for the last 5,000 years, and have not left this land. We have not left this land. Our forefathers are the monotheist Canaanites and Jebusites. They are the ones who built Jerusalem, before Abraham was even here."

There never was an ancient Palestinian-Arab nation. Arabs first arrived in the land of Israel/Judea with the Muslim invasion in 637 CE. Arabs first identified themselves as "Palestinians" in the 20th century, after the creation of the State of Israel. Claiming a 5,000 year old Palestinian nation is a historical lie.

Headline: “[PA] President [Mahmoud Abbas]: Despite the occupation and a lack of resources, we are doing what is required of us in everything connected to international humanitarian aid”

Excerpt of speech by PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas at the First International Summit on Humanitarian Activity on May 24, 2016, in Istanbul, Turkey

“Ensuring the existence of international collective political will to implement the decisions of international institutions – which call to find a comprehensive and just political solution to the Palestinian issue –is the first and basic stage on the way to ending all aspects of the Palestinian people’s tragedy.

As a result of it, the Palestinian people’s Nakba (i.e., “the catastrophe,” the Palestinian term for the establishment of the State of Israel) was caused, which started to be carried out in 1917 (i.e., with the Balfour Declaration) and continues until this day.

Ladies and gentlemen, approximately 6 million of our people are still refugees and uprooted, living in their places of refuge in neighboring states and within Palestine.'

Official PA TV News report on the opening of a Maronite church in Bethlehem
Official PA TV reporter: “As part of strengthening the Christian presence and reinforcing the principle of religious tolerance and pluralism on Palestinian land, the Saint Charbel Church, the first Maronite church in Bethlehem, was opened, and a festive mass was held in honor of the opening with the participation of 4,000 people. It is anticipated that the opening of the church will assist in increasing the number of tourists who come to Palestine, and strengthen the presence of the Maronite community that has been spread through the land occupied since 1948 (i.e., Israel).”

There are no Maronites in the PA areas and Gaza. The Maronites in Israel live in the Galilee and Haifa.
Fatah student movement: "The illegal occupation will not succeed in hiding the truth and changing its [Jerusalem's] Canaanite Arab Islamic and Christian character"
Source: Wattan (independent Palestinian news agency)‎, May 23, 2016
Headline: “Fatah’s Shabiba: The fact that Israel displayed a misleading sign regarding the reality of Jerusalem constitutes the issue of a challenge to the international community”
“Fatah’s Shabiba [student] movement issued a statement in which it emphasized that Jerusalem was and will remain the eternal capital of our Arab Palestinian people, and that all the activity of the illegal occupation will not succeed in hiding the truth and changing its Canaanite Arab Islamic and Christian character. Likewise, it emphasized that the fact that the right-wing extremist [Israeli] government tried to falsify the facts a number of days ago through the advertisement of a picture describing East Jerusalem as the capital of Israel (apparently referring to Israeli exhibition at the UN headquarters in New York –Ed.) is part of the Zionist movement’s plot to expel its residents and Judaize it on the way to completing the plot of the Zionist colonialist expansion at the expense of the Palestinian people and land.”

District Governor of Ramallah and El-Bireh Laila Ghannam said…‘The inauguration of this building that stirs pride shows that Palestine is a state that is only missing being rid of the occupation, which is trying to create history for itself at the expense of our history, but it is our history. PA government calls on Palestinians and Israeli Arabs “in the interior (i.e., in Israel) to come to the Al-Aqsa Mosque and carry out Ribat
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Apr. 22, 2016
“During its weekly meeting in Ramallah yesterday [April 21, 2016]… the [PA] government warned of the dangerous calls of the alleged [Jewish] Temple extremist groups and organizations for mass participation in increased invasions of the Al-Aqsa Mosque plaza as the Jewish holiday season begins, and to organize Talmudic activities on the mosque’s plaza. This is part of the aggressive schemes of the Israeli occupation government, meant to completely take over Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque and Judaize them. The [PA] government called on its people in the interior (i.e., Israel) and everyone who can come to Jerusalem to do so, and said to be constantly present in the Al-Aqsa Mosque and its plaza and carry out Ribat (i.e., religious conflict/war over land claimed to be Islamic) there in order to retaliate to every possible attack against it.”

The PA and its leaders consider all of the Temple Mount an integral part of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Therefore they view any presence of Jews on the mount as an "invasion." It should be noted that Jews who visit the Temple Mount only enter some sections of the open areas, and do not enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque or the Dome of the Rock.

Qalqilya governor says Israeli occupation began in 1948

The Balfour Declaration of Nov. 2, 1917 was a letter from British Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour to Baron Rothschild stating that “His Majesty's government views with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people” and is seen as the basis for later international commitments to establish the State of Israel.
