Exhibit at USAID-funded Palestinian university shows photos of female suicide bombers

The Facebook page of the National University’s Islamic student group of An-Najah University in ‎Nablus, a school funded by USAID, posted text and images from an exhibit they created.

“The Promise and Loyalty exhibit – ‎Martyrs’ Week. ‎
The Islamic student group at An-Najah ‎University put on an exhibit entitled ‎‎‘Promise and Loyalty’ as part of the ‎Martyrs’ (Shahids’) Week events it ‎organized [at the University]. [PA] ‎Parliament Member Sheikh Fathi Al-‎Qar’awi, [female] Parliament Member ‎Muna Mansour and Sheikh Abu Taha Al-‎Bashtawi were present at the opening.”‎

Notes: Wafa Idris was the first Palestinian female suicide bomber. She killed one and ‎injured over 100 in her attack in central Jerusalem on Jan. 27, 2002. As a volunteer for ‎the Palestinian Red Crescent, she was able to bypass Israeli security and enter ‎Jerusalem in a Palestinian ambulance.‎
Reem Riyashi – female suicide bomber who blew herself up at the Erez crossing ‎between Israel and the Gaza Strip on Jan. 14, 2004, killing 3 soldiers and one civilian.‎
