Abbas’ sponsored event in Ashdod commemorating the Nakba glorified arch-terrorists

Headline: “The residents of Ashdod mark the anniversary of their city’s occupation”
     “The [Palestinian] residents of Ashdod (i.e., Palestinians who lived in Ashdod prior to 1948) marked the 67th anniversary of their city’s Nakba (i.e., 'the catastrophe,' Palestinian term for the establishment of the State of Israel) in the exhibition hall on the land of Al-Saraya (the main security compound in Gaza City –Ed.) in a rally in which many of the city’s residents were present, as well as various national and Islamic leaders, dignitaries, authors, intellectuals, researchers, scholars, media professionals, journalists, village elders, and people of the reform . The author and researcher Nahed Zaqout, the rally’s moderator, welcomed each and every one of those present by name and by nickname, saluted the Jerusalem revolution, asked for Allah’s mercy on the Martyrs’ (Shahids) souls, saluted the prisoners in the occupation’s prisons, and wished a speedy recovery to the wounded.  Likewise, Zaqout saluted [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas for giving his patronage to the commemoration of the anniversary of Ashdod’s Nakba, and thanked the city’s residents for their presence, which emphasizes their sincere belonging to their homeland and city, and adherence to the right of return to their homes, land, and homeland… Zakout added: ‘On this anniversary, we remember our courageous leaders, soldiers and men, Martyrs (Shahids) who are symbols of Palestine and its people, Martyrs Yasser Arafat, Ahmed Yassin, Abu Ali Mustafa, Fathi Shaqaqi, Omar Al-Qassem and Abu Al-Abbas. These and thousands of other Martyrs have sacrificed their souls for Palestine and its people, so that we can live in dignity in an independent state, with Jerusalem as its capital.
Later, the anniversary events began with a reading of the Quran by Sa’ed Omar Hamid , followed by the national anthem and a reading of the [Quranic Sura] Al-Fatiha for the souls of Palestine’s Martyrs, Ashdod’s Martyrs, the Martyrs of the Jerusalem revolution, and Martyrs who have watered the homeland’s soil with blood in order to protect the right of return, freedom, and independence.”

Abu Al-Abbas headed the terror organization Palestinian Liberation Front. He planned the hijacking of an Italian cruise ship in 1985, in which one passenger was killed.

Fathi Shaqaqi - Founder of the terrorist organization Islamic Jihad, which has carried out more than 1,000 terror attacks, killing and wounding hundreds of Israeli civilians.
He was killed by Israel in Malta in 1995.

Abu Ali Mustafa - Secretary-General of the terror organization Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). The PFLP, which rejected the Oslo Accords (1993), has planned and carried out numerous terror attacks against Israeli civilians since its founding in 1967 and throughout the Palestinian terror campaign between 2000-2005 (the Intifada).

Omar Al-Qassem - Led a terror squad that crossed the Jordan River into Israel to carry out a terror attack in 1968. Caught by Israeli soldiers, the squad killed two soldiers. Al-Qassem was given two life sentences, and died in his prison cell 21 years later.

Sheikh Ahmed Yassin - Founder and former head of the terrorist organization Hamas. The Hamas movement is responsible for numerous terror attacks and the deaths of hundreds of Israeli civilians.
