“Khaled Abu-Asba gave up the pleasures of life in Kuwait despite his young age, before the end of the second decade [of his life]. He was the only one of his family to take part in the Martyr (Shahida) Dalal Mughrabi operation (i.e., bus hijacking, 37 killed) in the second half of the 70s of the past century, and he and his comrade Fayyad were the only ones to survive from the self-sacrificing squad. The young Laila Khaled who took part in the airplane hijackings in the struggle period, which was intended to make the Palestinian cause known to the world… Martyr (Shahid) Yahia Ayyash, the outstanding engineer, (i.e., Hamas bomb maker) who made the occupation lose sleep with his military operations… and recently Martyrs Muhannad Halabi (i.e., murdered 2), Bayan Al-Esseili (i.e., terrorist stabber), Baha Alyan (i.e., murdered 3) and Alaa Abu-Jamal (i.e., murdered 1). The list of Martyrs and prisoners is filled with those who left family and children behind, while they were at the height of success and excellence in their universities and workplaces, for the sake of Palestine, so that we may live with dignity, but [they] are only remembered as numbers, or from what was written about them or documented in a short documentary on their heroic acts.”
Coastal Road Massacre - In March 1978, a group of Fatah terrorists from Lebanon led by Dalal Mughrabi hijacked a bus on Israel's Coastal Highway. Confronted by the Israeli army, the terrorists killed many of the passengers on the bus, in total 37 civilians,12 of them children, and wounded more than 70. The attack, orchestrated by arch-terrorist Abu Jihad (Khalil Al-Wazir), is known in Israel as the Coastal Road Massacre.
Khaled Abu Asba - a Palestinian terrorist who, at the age of 18, was one of the perpetrators of the most lethal terror attack in Israel’s history, the hijacking of a bus led by Dalal Mughrabi in 1978 in which 37 civilians were killed, 12 of them children. He and Hussein Fayyad were the only terrorists who survived the attack and were both arrested by Israeli security forces. Abu Absa was sentenced to life in prison but was later released in the Jibril Agreement in May 1985, when Israel agreed to release 1,150 Palestinian prisoners, including terrorist murderers, in exchange for 3 Israeli soldiers who had been taken hostage by the terrorist organization the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). Abu Absa lives in Jordan.
Yahya Ayyash - First Hamas bomb-maker and leader of the of Hamas’ Izz A-Din Al-Qassam Brigades in the West Bank, is considered the initiator of Palestinian suicide bombings. He built the bombs used in many terror attacks, including the Mehola Junction bombing (2 killed, 9 injured, April 16, 1993), the Afula bus bombing (8 killed, 55 injured, April 6, 1994), the Hadera central station bombing (6 killed, 30 injured, April 13, 1994), the Tel Aviv bus 5 bombing (22 killed, 47 injured, Oct. 19, 1994), the Ramat Gan bus bombing (6 killed, 33 wounded, July 24, 1995), the Ramat Eshkol bus bombing (5 killed, over 100 injured, Aug. 21, 1995), and the Bet Lid bombing (22 killed, 66 injured, Jan. 22, 1995). He was killed by Israeli security forces on Jan. 5, 1996.
Laila Khaled - PFLP terrorist who participated in the hijacking of TWA flight 840 on Aug. 29, 1969 from Rome to Athens and the hijacking of El Al flight 219 on Sept. 6, 1970 from Amsterdam to New York. The second hijacking was averted by the pilot and security personnel on board. They shot Khaled’s accomplice, Patrick Argüello, who had killed one of the flight attendants. Khaled was overpowered and the plane landed in London where Khaled was handed over and held by British police until she was exchanged on Oct. 1, 1970 with hostages held by the PFLP.
Muhannad Halabi - 19-year-old Palestinian terrorist who killed 2 Israelis, Rabbi Nehemiah Lavi and Aharon Bennett, and injured Bennett’s wife, Adele, and their 2-year-old son in a stabbing attack in the Old City of Jerusalem on Oct. 3, 2015. Following the attack, he was shot and killed by Israeli security forces. Prior to his attack, in a post to his private Facebook page, the terrorist referred to recent terror attacks as part of a "third Intifada,” and said that it was a response to Israel’s actions at the Al-Aqsa Mosque and that the Palestinian people would not “succumb to humiliation.” This is a reference to the PA libel that Israel is plotting to take over and destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque and to the PA's portrayal of Jews praying on the Temple Mount as "an invasion of the Al-Aqsa Mosque."
Jerusalem line 78 bus terror attack - On Oct. 13, 2015, two Palestinian terrorists, Baha Alyan (22) and Bilal Ghanem (23) boarded Israeli bus no. 78 in Jerusalem's Armon Hanatziv neighborhood with a gun and a knife and attacked passengers, killing Israelis Haviv Haim (78) and Alon Govberg (51), and wounding 4 Israelis. Alyan was shot and killed by an Israeli security guard at the scene and Ghanem, a Hamas terrorist who served time in Israeli prison in 2013-2014, was wounded. Two weeks after the attack on Oct. 27, a 3rd victim in the attack, Richard Lakin (76), died from his wounds.
Alaa Abu Jamal - Palestinian terrorist who deliberately drove his car into people standing at a bus stop on Malchei Yisrael Street in Jerusalem on Oct. 13, 2015, hitting three people. Yeshayahu Krishevsky, 60, was killed and the other two were injured. Abu Jamal then got out of his car and started stabbing people, wounding others. The terrorist was killed by a security guard. He was a relative of the terrorists who murdered 5 worshippers and a policeman in the Har Nof synagogue in Jerusalem in November 2014.
Bayan Ayman Al-Esseili – 16-year-old female Palestinian terrorist who stabbed an Israeli soldier in Hebron, near the Cave of the Patriarchs on Oct. 17, 2015. The soldier shot and killed Al-Esseili.
