Fatah official glorifies imprisoned terrorists

"Palestinian leaders emphasized the national and global symbolism of fighter prisoner Karim Younes (i.e., terrorist, murdered 1) of the unity of the Palestinian people on its historical and natural land, and as the oldest of the prisoners of Palestine in the Israeli occupation's prisons and also in the world's prisons.

Fatah Central Committee member Abbas Zaki spoke about fighter prisoner Karim Younes beginning his 35th year in the Israeli prisons. He also referred to the fact that prisoner Younes was born in Ara in the Palestinian territories that were occupied in 1948 (i.e., Israel), and said: 'They (i.e., the residents of that area) are the true residents of the land who did not agree and will not agree to aggression and injustice. It does not matter how much Israel tries, their willpower and determination will remain stronger and they will continue to stand firm and planted in the land of Palestine.'
Zaki added in direct reference to prisoners Karim and Maher Younes (i.e., terrorist, murdered 1): ‘They are people who carried the responsibility and difficulties for the just cause of their homeland, Palestine. They are satisfied because they opened the door to prisoner exchanges when they kidnapped an Israeli soldier in the hope of saving fighters from among their people who are in the occupation's prisons.’ Likewise, he emphasized that Israel did not succeed in frightening the Palestinian people everywhere it is located, and particularly in the '48 territories (i.e., Israel).
Regarding Karim Younes' letter to [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas, in which he expressed his refusal to bargaining with Israel over his freedom in return for the basic rights of the Palestinian people [and said] that if necessary [he is prepared] that they will delay his freedom by 100 years, Zaki said: 'This is proof of the greatness of the Palestinian people, and an expression of the sacrifices that fighter prisoner Karim Younes makes.'
Zaki mentioned the statements of President Mahmoud Abbas to fighter Karim Younes: 'Continue and pay it no heed, as we are all potential Martyrs.'
Zaki sent his appreciation to all of the fighter prisoners, most veteran of them Karim Younes, fighter Maher Younes, leaders Marwan Barghouti (i.e., terrorist who orchestrated three shooting attacks in which 5 were murdered) and Ahmad Sa'adat (i.e., headed the PFLP terrorist organization), to Nael Barghouti (i.e., terrorist, murdered 1), and to all of the prisoners who have sacrificed their freedom for the victory of their people, its freedom, and its independence."
Karim and Maher Younes - Israeli Arabterrorist cousins serving a 40-year sentence for kidnapping and killing Israeli soldier Avraham Bromberg in 1980. Originally sentenced to life in prison, but Israeli President Shimon Peres reduced their sentences in 2012.
Marwan Barghouti – Palestinian terrorist who is serving 5 life sentences for orchestrating three shooting attacks that killed 5 people: one attack in Jerusalem (June 12, 2001) in which Greek monk Tsibouktsakis Germanus was murdered by terrorist Ismail Radaida and another unidentified terrorist, another attack at a gas station in Givat Zeev near Jerusalem (Jan. 15, 2002) in which Yoela Hen, 45, was murdered by terrorists led by Mohammed Matla, and one shooting and stabbing attack at the Sea Food Market restaurant in Tel Aviv (March 5, 2002) in which Eli Dahan, 53, Yosef Habi, 52, and Police Officer Sergeant-Major Salim Barakat, 33, were murdered by terrorist Ibrahim Hasouna. When arrested by Israel in 2002, Barghouti headed the Tanzim (Fatah terror faction). After he was convicted and imprisoned, he was re-elected member of the Palestinian Authority parliament.
Ahmad Sa’adat - serving a 30-year sentence for heading the PFLP terror organization. A song at a PFLP event also praised him for planning the assassination of Israeli Minister of Tourism Rehavam Ze'evi in 2001, but he has not been tried for this crime.
Nael and Fakhri Barghouti – Palestinian terrorists who killed an Israeli army officer in January 1978, near Ramallah. Both were sentenced to life but were released in the Shalit prisoner exchange deal in 2011. Nael Barghouti was arrested again in 2014 for violating the terms of his release by offering Hamas to serve as its minister of prisoners' affairs, and is serving a 30 month sentence.
