Martyrs of 2014 Gaza War to receive payments from the PA
“[PLO] Families of the Martyrs and Wounded Institution Chairwoman Intisar Al-Wazir ‘Um Jihad’ said that the institution has completed all of the administrative procedures – preparing the files, opening bank accounts, and checking the social background – for all of the Martyrs (Shahids) of the last war against the Gaza Strip (i.e., 2014 Gaza war).
Al-Wazir added that currently the institution is waiting for the allocation of the needed budget for payment of the allowances (mukhassasat), which it is anticipated and hoped will be included in the 2017 budget. She noted that the leadership, led by His Honor [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas, is making every effort to realize this. She emphasized that since the outbreak of the Palestinian revolution in 1965, the Families of the Martyrs and Wounded Institution presents its services to all of the Palestinians without exception, everywhere they are located in the homeland and in the diaspora.
Likewise, she added that the delay in payment [of the allowances] to the families of the Martyrs of the 2014 war was caused due to the financial deficit and nothing more, and that the matter will be dealt with soon.
Al-Wazir said: ‘The confirmation of the Martyrs and the wounded of the last war against the Gaza Strip is their right, and no one can say otherwise.’”
