Song on official PA radio envisions Israel's end: “Occupiers… the day is coming when you will leave”

The Voice of Palestine, the official PA radio station, Lebanese song for “Palestine” played ahead of Nakba Day

Lyrics: “O occupiers, leave my land…
Leave, leave, leave
The day is coming, the day is coming when you will leave
And Palestine will return to being the bride of the Arabs…
I’m prepared to sacrifice my blood for [Palestine],
This is my land, and the land of my forefathers,
We own the cause.”

The song was broadcast on the official PA radio station on occasion of Nakba Day - Palestinians commemorate Nakba Day on May 15, the day after the establishment of Israel. On May 15, 1948, combined forces from Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Iraq joined local Arab forces in an attempt to eradicate the newly established State of Israel. The Nakba (Arabic = catastrophe) refers to the establishment of Israel, and the Arabs’ subsequent loss of the war, including the killing and displacement of Arab civilians that occurred during the war.
