Abbas advisor: "The Palestinians have been on this land for 5,000 years"
Official PA TV broadcast the Friday sermon from the Al-Tashrifat Mosque in the presidential compound in Ramallah. The sermon was delivered by Mahmoud Al-Habbash, the Supreme Shari’ah Judge and Mahmoud Abbas’ Advisor on Religious and Islamic Affairs
Mahmoud Al-Habbash, the Supreme Shari’ah Judge and Mahmoud Abbas’ Advisor on Religious and Islamic Affairs: “The Palestinians have been on this land for 5,000 years. They didn't leave it. Nations came and nations went, empires came and empires went, but the Palestinians are permanent here like the olive tree, rooted here like the mountains, the mountains we see in Palestine. We were here with them and will not leave them until Allah's [Day of] Judgment (i.e., Resurrection Day).”
