PA Ministry of Education responds to Belgium’s decision to cut funding to school construction, following PMW’s report
“The [PA] Ministry of Education and Higher Education… expressed great sorrow over the temporary freeze of the Belgian aid to build two schools due to the reservations regarding the name given to one of the schools (PMW exposed that the school was named after terrorist Dalal Mughrabi who led the murder of 37, 12 of them children –Ed.) that were built five years ago with Belgian aid in the village of Beit Awwa, which is part of the Southern Hebron [Education] Directorate (i.e., under the PA Ministry of Education).
The ministry noted that it has great appreciation for the Belgian government’s aid to the ministry’s efforts to develop education and for the funding that it gives projects in this field, and therefore it hurried to invite the Belgian consul general to meet soon in order to discuss this matter. The ministry also emphasized that its cooperation with the Belgian partners continues, and that a meeting will be held with the representatives of the Belgian cooperation institution next Wednesday [Oct. 18, 2017] in order to discuss the Belgian aid to the education sector in the future.”

Dalal Mughrabi led the most lethal terror attack in Israel’s history, known as the Coastal Road massacre, in 1978, when she and other Fatah terrorists hijacked a bus on Israel's Coastal Highway, murdering 37 civilians, 12 of them children, and wounding over 70.
