PA TV honors terrorist who murdered bus passengers as a “shining” “Martyr” and interviews his father
Official PA TV program Good morning Jerusalem hosted Muhammad Alyan, father of Baha Alyan, one of the perpetrators of the terror attack on bus no. 78 in Jerusalem, on Oct. 13, 2015.
Official PA TV reporter: “Every Martyr (Shahid) has a name that was bestowed upon him, especially Baha, who shone (i.e., baha is ‘radiance’ in Arabic) in his life, and continued to shine after his death… The bullet kills the body, not the idea, and that is why Baha will remain present, thanks to his special will (this refers to the “10 commandments for the Martyr” Alyan wrote and posted on his Facebook page 10 months before he died, which Fatah tweeted after his death. –Ed .), distinguishing him from the rest of the Martyrs, and with it he ascended [to Heaven], so that it serves as a will for all Martyrs that will follow.”
Terrorist Baha Alyan’s father: “He did not do it out of hate, but in order to spare human lives. He died so that others will live. I wrote on my [Facebook] page: ‘One flower is picked, or dies, so that thousands of flowers can live. He wants to give life to children, he wants to serve as a role model, not because of the operation (i.e., terror attack) he carried out, [but rather] he wants to serve as a role model in terms of his public activities in the fields of culture and volunteerism… Baha’s will was clear to this effect. He did not want children or young people to imitate his resistance operation, because the resistance operation demands a culture of resistance – I do not call for resistance from this podium, a man has to be careful with what he says – but resistance requires culture, prerequisites, planning, and decision making capability. And the children, because they are children at the moment, cannot make informed decisions, which is why they must be protected.”
Jerusalem line 78 bus terror attack - On Oct. 13, 2015, two Palestinian terrorists, Baha Alyan (22) and Bilal Ghanem (23) boarded Israeli bus no. 78 in Jerusalem's Armon Hanatziv neighborhood with a gun and a knife and attacked passengers, killing Israelis Haviv Haim (78) and Alon Govberg (51), and wounding 4 Israelis. Alyan was shot and killed by an Israeli security guard at the scene and Ghanem, a Hamas terrorist who served time in Israeli prison in 2013-2014, was wounded. Two weeks after the attack on Oct. 27, a 3rd victim in the attack, Richard Lakin (76), died from his wounds.
