PA government: “We are renewing the oath to continue on the path of our people`s Martyrs… [we call] to stand firm and resist with all legal means”

"The [PA] government emphasized during its weekly meeting that was held yesterday [Jan. 3, 2019] in Ramallah, led by [PA] Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah…: 'Today we are commemorating the anniversary [of Fatah's Launch] (i.e., Intilaqa, the anniversary of its first attempted terror attack against Israel) that tells the story of the struggle of a people that has suffered the hardships of exile and wars in order to achieve its legal national rights throughout recent years. On this day, we are renewing the oath to continue on the path of our people's Martyrs (Shahids), who constitute a constant source of pride for our people, and who have recorded the firm rights of our people with their blood. We will also remain loyal to our heroic prisoners, their freedom, and the care for their relatives, and we will place the badges of heroism on the chests of our wounded.' … The government called to work seriously to end the [Hamas-Fatah] rift through every possible means and to reunite the ranks out of loyalty to the convoys of heroic Martyrs and prisoners. It also called to stand firm and resist with all legal and appropriate means, to continue to build on what has been achieved and defend it, and to depend on the Palestinian spirit that has not broken under the strongest blows in history."

Intilaqa - "the Launch" refers to the beginning of Fatah on Jan. 1, 1965, when it carried out its first terror attack against Israel, attempting to blow up Israel's National Water Carrier.
