Op-ed in PA daily praises terrorist who murdered 2 as a “heroic Martyr… he is an example of the heroes that act alone, who are born out of the Palestinian pain”

Excerpt of op-ed by Yahya Rabah, a columnist for the official PA daily and member of the Fatah Leadership Committee in Gaza

"Look at how many wars [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu is waging against the Palestinian people simultaneously: The war against Jerusalem… the war against the West Bank… and the war to destroy as many Palestinian homes as possible. The latest case was the destruction of the home of heroic Martyr (Shahid) Ashraf Na'alwa (i.e., terrorist, murdered 2), who received great glory for having caused the Israeli occupation army and all of the occupation's security forces to run after him for more than two months in order to reach him and summarily execute him (sic., he was killed in a shootout while resisting arrest)… None of this interested Hamas, except to quickly claim in an embarrassing frenzy that Ashraf Na'alwa was from Hamas – although he was not a Hamas member and was never affiliated with it. He is an example of the heroes that act alone, who are born out of the Palestinian pain."

Barkan Industrial Zone Attack – 23-year-old Palestinian terrorist Ashraf Walid Suleiman Na’alwa shot and murdered his 2 Israeli coworkers Kim Levengrond-Yehezkel and Ziv Hajbi in a factory in the Barkan Industrial Zone near Ariel on Oct. 7, 2018. Na'alwa fled the scene, but was located two months later in Nablus and shot and killed in a shootout when the Israeli army and police tried to apprehend him on Dec. 13, 2018. Israel ordered the partial demolition of the Na'alwa home as a result of Ashraf Na'alwa murdering 2; the house was partially demolished on Dec. 17, 2018.The Izz A-Din Al-Qassam Brigades (Hamas' military wing) claimed responsibility for the attack. Until this attack, the Barkan Industrial Zone had been an example of coexistence with Israelis and Palestinians working together.
