PA daily op-ed opposes encouraging children to carry out stabbing attacks and opposes praising death
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Nov. 24, 2015
Op-ed by Hafez Al-Barghouti, regular columnist and former editor for Al-Hayat Al-Jadida:
"It is our duty to prevent our sons and daughters... from carrying out futile acts, which the enemy in his media and diplomacy has begun to link to the acts of the terror organizations in Paris and elsewhere, in order to strip us of our humanity, and play the role of the human. This is while, there is no one else in the world, except for him [the enemy], who boasts about occupying someone else's land and oppressing its owners. Moreover, we should note that after the events of September [11, 2001] in New York, [then Israeli Prime Minister Ariel] Sharon copied the term 'terror' used to refer to those attacks, to our national struggle (i.e., terror campaign - Intifada). I warned about this at the time, and called to keep a low profile until the New York turmoil had passed, but the concept of 'Palestinian terror' later spread, instead of [the general term] 'terror.' Now, after the Paris attacks, we must keep a low profile so that we are not charged with the crimes of ISIS and its ilk, because the world is in a coma, and it may not wake up from it anytime soon. We must learn our lessons and wait."

PA daily op-ed opposes sending Palestinian ‎children to be killed
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Nov. 24, 2015
Op-ed by Hafez Al-Barghouti, regular ‎columnist for Al-Hayat Al-Jadida
Headline: “And Allah knows the intention”‎
‏"‏Yesterday we noted how the Israelis ‎managed to connect between the terror of ‎Al-Qaeda and the Palestinian struggle, ‎and started marketing it as terror after the ‎September [11] events in New York, and ‎here [US Secretary of State John] Kerry ‎follows [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] ‎Netanyahu and uses the same description ‎for the outburst of rage against the ‎occupation and its actions, and the ‎struggle of the oppressed [Palestinian] ‎residents of Jerusalem to defend their ‎homes and holy sites is now considered ‎terror... It is true that the action of individuals is ‎not directed [by anyone], and cannot be ‎organized with the click of a button, but ‎public awareness should lead to an ‎organized, moral struggle, rather than an ‎absurd one.‎ Moreover, it should lead to protecting the ‎lives of the children, youth, and young ‎people, as the current stage is not ‎significant, but rather secondary in regard ‎to the history of the struggle, and whoever ‎claims he will move fleets and shake the ‎earth beneath the feet of the occupation, ‎knows the way to do so, even if he does ‎not implement it.‎
However, this is not through ‎encouraging children to [find ‎themselves] shot on a sidewalk. It is also ‎true that we cannot soothe the raging ‎spirits or the boiling blood, but as we said, ‎the general public awareness expressing ‎rejection‏ ‏can create an atmosphere that ‎will reduce being pointlessly dragged into ‎the traps that the occupation sets ‎everywhere, and Allah knows the ‎intention.”‎

Mayor of Hebron at terrorist’s funeral: “A people that sacrifices the blood of its young for freedom will win”

Headline: “Accompanying Martyr Skafi’s body while calling to revenge the Martyrs’ blood”
“Hundreds of Hebron’s residents accompanied to burial the body of Martyr Ibrahim Samir Skafi, 22, who ascended [to Heaven] from gunfire of the occupation forces, after they left him to bleed [based] on the pretext that he rammed his car into soldiers next to the Al-Hawawir junction, in northern Halhoul, and injured two of them….
Governor of Hebron District Kamel Hamid said during the funeral that the continued holding of the bodies by the occupation stirs up emotions and leaves the area in an impassioned state. Likewise, he noted that there is no excuse to hold bodies, except to exacerbate the violations against our people and its rights.
Mayor of Hebron Dr. Daoud Al-Zaatari emphasized that the occupation forces will not succeed in breaking the will of our young people through the executions they continue to carry out against our young, and emphasized that a people that sacrifices the blood of its young for freedom will win.
Abd Al-Rahim Skafi said in the name of the Martyr’s family that their son is ‘another groom from Hebron, accompanied to his wedding, to Heaven, for the sake of Jerusalem and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque,’ and emphasized the resolve of our people for its land, and a life of dignity and liberty.”

Fatah spokesman in Gaza: Youth who are willing to die “for Palestine” (i.e., in terror attacks) are “an asset worth more than the entire world”
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Oct. 11, 2015
Official PA TV program Palestine This Morning hosted Fayez Abu Aita, Fatah's spokesman in Gaza.
Fatah spokesman in Gaza Fayez Abu Aita: “We held a meeting yesterday [Oct. 10, 2015] in which we decided to change [the character of] our confrontations with the occupation in order to protect our youths from the abuse and the attacks, because they are an easy prey for the occupation. These young people are an asset for us. As long as they have the strength to sacrifice themselves for Palestine like this, they are an asset worth more than the entire world…
We must protect them.”
PA daily op-ed: Mother proud her daughter wants to die a Martyr
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Oct. 8, 2015
Op-ed by Samaa Hassan, appeared on “The morning tweet” - a daily column with changing authors
“I was extremely happy when I saw my young daughter shed tears, as she held her novel mobile phone and watched, using its advanced technologies, a video about one of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs... The stifled tears continued to flow from the little one’s eyes, until suddenly she stood up on the couch as though bitten by a scorpion and shouted: ‘Mom, I want to die as a Martyr. I want to carry out a Martyrdom operation (i.e., terror attack) in order to kill some Israeli soldiers.’
More than they filled me with fear, my daughter’s words filled me with joy, and I felt joyous because I could see myself during the days of the Stone Intifada (i.e., Palestinian wave of violence and terror against Israel, 1987-1993). I was 17 at the time, that is, I was two years older than her, but I had the same youthful, fervent fighting spirit, forged from the love of Palestine, and we would leave school and cheer for Palestine and repeat the one and only slogan: ‘In spirit, in blood, we will redeem you, O Palestine.’"

“[PA] Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah stated yesterday [Oct. 5, 2015] in the opening ceremony of the 12th International IT Conference in Ramallah: ‘First, I would like to use this opportunity to express my warm condolences to the families of the Martyrs (Shahids), who saturated the ground of the homeland with their pure blood and demonstrated by their sacrifices the will of our people to survive and endure. [Likewise, I would like to] praise the Palestinian citizens’ resolve and their unification around the leadership led by President Mahmoud Abbas against the unprecedented Israeli attack against our people, and against the escalation of the violations against Jerusalem and its residents, the murder of Palestinians in cold blood, and the continued efforts of the occupation government to divide the Al-Aqsa Mosque by times and areas.’"

Islamic teacher to children at summer camp: Dead Ribat Martyrs get seventy virgins, ordinary Martyrs get only two
Source: Al-Msjed Al-Aqsa YouTube channel, July 26, 2015

Sheikh Khaled Al-Mughrabi speaks to children at an Al-Aqsa Mosque summer camp about
Ribat fighters, Martyrs and the virgins awaiting them in Paradise:
Sheikh Khaled Al-Mughrabi: “Let's talk about the Hadith (i.e., Islamic tradition) of Prophet Muhammad about the Ribat (religious conflict/war over land claimed to be Islamic). It compares the stature of the Martyr to that of the [martyred] Ribat fighter. The Prophet says... Three privileges are bestowed upon the Martyr: "His sins are forgiven with the first gush of blood. He marries two of the Dark-Eyed (i.e., virgins) of Paradise. He advocates on behalf of 70 members of his family." In the same Hadith, the Prophet talks about the [martyred] Ribat fighter... He marries 70 of the Dark-Eyed (i.e., virgins). The Martyr gets two, while the Ribat fighter gets 70 of the Dark-Eyed. The Ribat fighter gets 35 times more than the Martyr... The Prophet says... The Ribat fighter who dies in Ribat can advocate on Judgement Day on behalf of anyone he wants for 50,000 years.”
Bystander: "Do they [the children] even understand what you are saying?"
Children in the summer camp: "Allah is Great! Allah is Great!"
Sheikh Khaled Al-Mughrabi: "Leave us alone. Leave us alone."
Bystander: "Can they understand things like Ribat, Martyrdom and the Dark-Eyed [Virgins]? You should be ashamed, sir, a man with a white beard like you. Give these lessons to us [adults], not to children. Look at these children, you fill their heads with this?"
Children: “With our lives and blood, we will redeem Al-Aqsa!”
PA Minister of Religious Affairs promotes child self-sacrifice to protect the Al-Aqsa Mosque
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, July 26, 2015
PA Minister of Religious Affairs Sheikh Yusuf Ida'is on PA TV program Today's Topic: "The Israeli occupation’s goal is to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque using rabbis and groups of extremist Jews, and to establish the alleged Temple in its place... Israel challenges and provokes the feelings of Arabs and Muslims. When Israel attacks the places holy to Islam and Christianity - and even trees, stones, or the dead are not safe from these attacks - it essentially wants to incite a religious war in the entire Middle East region. It strives for religious war, and it is the one adding fuel to the flames. As everyone knows, the Al-Aqsa Mosque is a matter that involves the faith of a billion Muslims everywhere. I say to the patient and resolute Palestinian people, and to the people of Jerusalem who are protecting the holy places: Feel good about the honor [of carrying] Ribat (i.e., religious conflict/war to protect land claimed to be Islamic)." The tradition of the Prophet is enough for you: ‘Groups of people from among my faithful will remain faithful and will overcome their enemies...’
The crowds that flocked to the Al-Aqsa Mosque during Ramadan are a message to the Israeli occupation that we will sacrifice everything we have to defend the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the holy city. If the Israeli occupation deludes itself and imagines that what happened (i.e., the physical division and division according to time) in the Ibrahimi Mosque (i.e., Cave of the Patriarchs) will happen at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, it is not possible. The scream of the Palestinian woman, and the screams of children on the Al-Aqsa Mosque plaza truly express that this child will sacrifice himself to protect the Al-Aqsa Mosque and to protect a part of his faith and the holy city which Allah sanctified.’”

Mother on PA TV: “I hope that all of my children will die at Israel’s hand as Martyrs, for the honor of the homeland Palestine”

Official PA TV host: “What is your message to your children?”
Um Nidal Abu Tarboush: “What is my message to my children? I’ll tell them that I am proud of them. I hope that all of my children will die at Israel’s hand as Martyrs, for the honor of the homeland Palestine. They should return us [to Palestine] now; we’ll put up a tent and sit there. Is there any better than the one country?”

Story in youth magazine presents Palestinians as “potential Martyrs, who are ready to die and turn their bodies into bombs which will explode if they so wish”
Source: Zayzafuna magazine, Feb. 1, 2015
Excerpt in Zayzafuna, a PLO magazine for children funded by the PA, of the story Scheherazade and the Rich Land by Palestinian Saudi Arabian author Fatima Nazzal.

In the story, Scheherazade is a Palestinian girl who was born and grew up in Saudi Arabia.

Headline: "Scheherazade and the Rich Land”
“My friends ask me: Why does your family stay there [in Palestine]? Why don’t they come here? Why do you want to die? The Jews are criminals?? I am silent. These questions demonstrate ignorance and superficial thinking and education. They don’t know that the injured homeland is Arabic Canaanite, and that it belongs to us and we are planted in it like the olive tree (planted in the homeland) like a thorn in the throat of the occupying monster. They [the Jews] want a land without a people and are doing everything to achieve this. And we want a whole land, they should leave here and be torn out and return to where they came from, or [the land] will be their final graveyard. They [the Jews] want to deny this [Palestinian] people. They are scared of the people’s children more than of the youth and elders. They are scared of a future which holds potential Martyrs (Shahids), who are ready to die and turn their bodies into bombs which will explode if they so wish. Don’t relax, O occupier, and know that Palestine is constantly born anew, and their stalks of wheat are not empty.”

Hamas TV: Every Muslim mother "must nurse her children on hatred of the sons of Zion"
Source: Al-Aqsa TV (Hamas), Aug. 1, 2014

Tareq Al-Suwaidan, a leader of the Muslim Brotherhood in Kuwait: "Without a doubt, the blood being spilled [in Gaza] is dear. But the equation is: 'Those killed from our side are in Paradise, and those killed from their side in Hell.' (Hadith)
We are not afraid of Martyrdom. Not long ago, you cried out loud: 'Death for Allah is our most exalted wish!' (Muslim Brotherhood slogan) You received the death you wanted. We have no problem with death. We are not like the children of Israel: 'And you will surely find them the most greedy of people for life.' (Quran) Whereas we yearn for death and Martyrdom... Every mother - especially the mothers in Palestine, but every mother in the [Islamic] Nation, not just Palestine - must nurse her children on hatred of the sons of Zion. We hate them and they are our enemies. We will plant this in their [our children’s] souls, so that a new generation will grow among us, which will erase them from the face of the earth."

Kids on Hamas TV: "We want to die as Martyrs"
Source: Al-Aqsa TV (Hamas), May 8, 2014

Hamas TV reporter:
For most of these children, resistance has become a dream... When you speak to them, you’re surprised by the strength and eloquence of their words.
Boy 1: We love the resistance. We want to die as Martyrs. Long live the Martyrs...
Boy 2: The Israeli occupation understands only resistance. We always love the resistance, to liberate our nation Palestine. And among us, the Martyrs are loved. Applause for the Martyrs...
Reporter: The atmosphere in the refugee camp is full of the spirit of resistance and of those who inscribed its stories of heroism. Most of the walls show you the images of the Martyrs...
Boy 3: The resistance, the armed resistance is what brings results in the Jenin refugee camp... The Jenin refugee camp continues to educate its children to resist, and passes on the flag to them, from generation to generation. They yearn for one of the two best outcomes – the return to their occupied lands, or Martyrdom.

PA minister at suicide bomber’s funeral: “We teach our children what sacrifice for Palestine is”
Source: Al-Fajer TV (local independent Palestinian station), Feb. 24, 2014
The funeral of terrorist Muayyad Salah Al-Din was broadcast by Al-Fajer TV and posted on YouTube on Feb. 24, 2014.
District Governor of Jerusalem and PA Minister of Jerusalem Affairs Adnan Al-Husseini: “We meet today in Hizma, in the area of Jerusalem, to welcome a Martyr (Shahid) who is dear to us and to our hearts. He has returned to his proper place, after giving Palestine all he had.
He is a true reminder for us of [all] the Martyrs and he reminds us of this long path of sacrifice, of the self-sacrificing fighters.
Each day we teach our children what sacrifice for Palestine is. This is the Palestinian people; this is this people’s culture – we always welcome [Martyrs] and part [from them.] We say to the whole world that a nation that lives on the Martyrs and generously sacrifices Martyrs will not lose its direction. It will always be free and proud. It will protect its holy sites and protect its land, every inch of it. It will not abandon , Allah willing. We will always follow the Martyrs’ path.”
