Fatah official: Israel changed the status quo by placing surveillance cameras, demands removal, Israel must “return situation to what it was”

Palestinian leaders routinely claim that Israel’s attempts to change the status quo of the Temple Mount and al-Aqsa Mosque are part of a larger plan of Judaization of Jerusalem – Ed.

“Fatah Movement Commissioner of Information, Culture, [and Ideology] [and Fatah Central Committee member] Nasser Al-Qidwa said that occupied Jerusalem is the symbol of the Palestinian cause and what is happening in it is unacceptable, and Israel must retract all of its steps and return the situation to the way it was before July 14, [2017]…
He noted that despite the occupation removing the metal detectors (placed at the entrances to the Temple Mount following an attack there on July 14, 2017, in which 2 Israelis were murdered; see note below. Israel decided to remove them on July 24, 2017 –Ed.), it placed surveillance cameras and continues the closure of seven of the gates of the Jerusalem Noble Sanctuary (i.e., the Temple Mount).”

Two of the terrorists were shot and killed by other policemen during the attack. The third terrorist was shot and killed while trying to flee.
