PA MP and terrorist Marwan Barghouti: “The assassination of President Yasser Arafat was an official Israeli-American decision”
Source:
Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Nov. 11, 2014
“Prisoner leader Marwan Barghouti called on the PA to restore the dignity of the resistance, officially adopt the movement to boycott the occupation, and defend Jerusalem from Judaization, out of loyalty and devotion to the historic heritage of Yasser Arafat. These statements were made in a letter from the prisoner leader [Barghouti] on the tenth anniversary of the assassination of founding leader Yasser Arafat. In his letter, Barghouti wrote: ‘The assassination of President Yasser Arafat was an official Israeli-American decision, [and occurred] after a continuous military and political siege that was aimed at torpedoing the blessed Al-Aqsa Intifada (i.e., PA terror campaign 2000-2005) and dealing a blow to the resistance and the unity of the Palestinian people. There is no need for the inquiry teams and commissions of the past ten years to realize this fact.’"

PA daily columnist: Britain committed a “double crime against humanity” with the Balfour Declaration; Britain is to blame for the rise of “extremist religious groups” in the Middle East
Source:
Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Nov. 2, 2014
Op-ed by Muwaffaq Matar, regular columnist for the official PA daily:
“It may be no exaggeration to say that Great Britain created the justifications for the growth of the religious terror organizations we are witnessing today, the moment it decided to establish a religious state (a state for the Jews) [parenthesis in source] in the heart of the Arab homeland. For it was clear that groups, parties and movements would arise under religious slogans to fight the Jewish state that had arisen in the region... We can say that the British politicians of the period committed a double crime against humanity. The first and biggest [crime] was having caused the Palestinian people’s Nakba (i.e., ‘the catastrophe,’ Palestinian term for the establishment of the State of Israel) and the attempt to tear it from its roots which date back to the dawn of history… The other, parallel crime was against political and humanistic thought, when it took part in the reestablishment of religious states.”
Note: The Balfour Declaration of Nov. 2, 1917 was a letter from British Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour to Baron Rothschild stating that “His Majesty's government view with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people” and is seen as the basis for later international commitments to establish the State of Israel.

PA daily op-ed warns of “American ‘IS-ization’” and claims the US wants continued “Arab bloodshed”
Source:
Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Oct. 30, 2014
Op-ed by Hafez Al-Barghouti, regular columnist for Al-Hayat Al-Jadida:
“Neither Western nor Arab media [outlets] elaborated on the aggression against Gaza [to the extent they did] on Kobani. The issue here is not a conflict between Arabs and Kurds, but between Arabs and Arabs, for the Syrian Kurds have no intention of seceding from the destroyed Syrian motherland. But Kobani will introduce separatism to the Kurds in Syria through the arrival of the Iraqi Kurds, and the US’s plan to dismantle Syria and Iraq is still relevant… Libya will be the next stop of American ‘IS-ization’ – Washington will distract us, as usual, with one military arena in order to open another – the main thing being that Arab bloodshed never cease. America’s final aim is to transfer the fighting and civil wars from one country to another, until the [Arab] Nation degenerates without remedy… At the moment, Israel, Turkey and Iran, with the US’s explicit approval, are planning to take over the Arab land and all it contains.”

Abbas representative: US is the leader of “invading imperialism” in the Middle East
Source:
Facebook page of Fatah Central Committee Member Abbas Zaki, Sept. 30, 2014
Excerpt from the speech given by Fatah Central Committee Member and Commissioner of Arab Relations and Relations with China Abbas Zaki, who represented PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas at a ceremony marking the 65th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China:
“I am happy and honored to participate in this ceremony as the representative of President Mahmoud Abbas, the President of the State of Palestine, on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. In the name of the President, the members of the Executive Branch of the PLO, the members of the Fatah Central Committee and the members of its Revolutionary Council and in my name, personally, I convey our best wishes to you… The presence of a Chinese peace envoy in the Middle East constitutes an active contribution to and true guarantee for the establishment of peace and stability in the region. It indicates full support for the Palestinian people’s cause and its national and legitimate rights to its land and homeland, and strong support for the peace process in the Middle East – support for a fair political settlement that will lead to the establishment of a Palestinian state along the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. In addition, it testifies to a strong Chinese position against the invading imperialism, which the US is leading in the region."

PA daily op-ed: US not so different from IS
Source:
Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Sept. 15, 2014
Op-ed by Hafez Al-Barghouti, regular columnist for Al-Hayat Al-Jadida:
“[US Secretary of State] John Kerry informed us of the establishment of a coalition of 40 countries to fight IS, and before that, of a coalition to overthrow Qaddafi, and before that, of a coalition to conquer Iraq, and even before that, of a coalition against the Taliban and Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan. We had nothing to do with these coalitions, because, in the end, they did not serve Arab interests…
These coalitions caused Iraq, as well as Libya and Syria, to deteriorate into [a state of] complete anarchy. It was also decided to overthrow Egypt, [and this plan would have succeeded] had it not been for the decisiveness and unity of its army, which is on constant guard against Egypt’s enemies.
I believe that the war of IS and the American fool will only harm innocent people, and pave the way for some kind of foreign intervention in the Arab countries… Those who created, financed and armed IS, and made it possible for anyone to join it, did so under the pretext of overthrowing the Syrian regime, but all they did was destroy the Syrian people, the Syrian cities and Syrian history…
IS’ actions in Iraq may not be so different from those of the American forces and the Shi’ite militias who are their allies. Don’t believe they are fighting IS. They are only fighting the Arab nation.”

Official PA daily: "NATO created, financed, and armed IS"
Source:
Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Sept. 7, 2014
Op-ed by Hafez Al-Barghouti, former editor and regular columnist for Al-Hayat Al-Jadida:
"NATO leaders have formed an alliance against IS and denounced its actions. The leaders of 'NATIS' are the engineers of IS and its ilk - the 'Afghan Arabs' who preceded them, and the lovers of chaos and those who tarnish religion with tales and lies, who will succeed them...
In Syria and Libya, NATO gathered all the unemployed, mentally ill, those with religious and sexual perversions and those who love adventure and 'Jihad marriages.' It financed and armed them, then threw them into Syria and Libya via Turkey, and they helped the European Muslims and others like them join the ranks of the opposition. When they failed to overthrow the Syrian regime and take control of Libya, they turned to Iraq, on Turkey's directives, or to Libya, to participate in the massacres or infiltrate Egypt to carry out massacres [there].
The discussion at the NATO summit on the danger posed by IS - after [NATO] brought this disaster on itself - might seem contemptible to us, since NATO is the one who created, financed and armed IS, and if the latter mutinies against it, it will be lying in the bed it had made."

Official PA daily: IS is a "pawn of Israeli-American intelligence, meant to fulfill the dream of the Jewish state"
Source:
Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Aug. 20, 2014
Op-ed by Izz Al-Din As'ad
“IS was a pawn of Israeli-American intelligence, meant to fulfill the dream of the Jewish state…
The danger in a religious state is evident to all groups of a people’s ethnic and religious minorities, given that the Islamic State – represented by IS – has imposed a poll tax on the Iraqi Christians, and fought other Muslims – both Sunni and Shiite – under the pretext of [their] having forsaken Islam and [committed] heresy. In other words, a religious state, whatever the religion may be, is based on an ideology of exclusion, inequality, injustice…
Every religious state has fought and will always fight other religious and ethnic minorities in order to expel them from the country. This is what happened in Serbia, this is what is being carried out in Iraq by IS, and this is what may happen to the Palestinians in Israel, both Muslims and Christians, if the dream of the Jewish state is fulfilled…
Establishing a Jewish state means the Jewish territory controlled by the Jewish state will be land for Jews only. In the Palestinian case, this is a complex issue, because this state is a colonialist, settler and Orientalist state, which fabricated a historical narrative in order to colonize Palestine. It will act forcefully to destroy the Arab society in Palestine, which was colonized in 1948. This may amount to the expulsion of the Palestinians living in Jerusalem, in order to cleanse the Jewish state of the ‘gentiles’ – the Jewish term for non-Jews…
The creation of IS, the outlining of its strategy... contribute dangerously to the realization of the idea that Israel is a Jewish state.''

Official PA daily accuses US of plotting the "dismantling of Iraq, Syria and Lebanon"
Source:
Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Aug. 14, 2014
Op-ed by Hafez Al-Barghouti, regular columnist and former editor in chief of Al-Hayat Al-Jadida
"I have not found any text confirming that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, in her book Hard Choices, had written that ISIS was a US pawn, and that Washington was supposed to have recognized it [the Islamic State] last year, right after it was declared. But this does not negate the fact that Washington is behind many of the disasters [plaguing] the Arab region. Over a decade ago, former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright indicated, in an article, the existence of elements in the Arab region that could be made to fight one another in a way that would serve US interests, and that there was no need for direct US military intervention... Later, in 2006, former CIA director James Woolsey spoke of the need... to cause Muslims to fight each other, at which point the West would overrun them and defeat them.
There are many proofs of US involvement in the present disasters in the region, and the present plot is that of dismantling - that is, the dismantling of Iraq, Syria and Lebanon. Egypt was supposed to have been dismantled, and at present this is happening to Yemen and several Gulf countries, parallel to the establishment of a Kurdish state in northern Iraq and northeastern Syria...
ISIS, the perpetrators of atrocities and the groups that hoist the banner of religion seem to be raising their weapons in sync with Washington, and fight the US verbally, but in practice are killing their enemies. Is this a coincidence, or was it planned ahead of time?"

The US “conspires against Egypt” and prevents Arab countries from becoming regional powers
Source:
Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Aug. 12, 2014
Op-ed by Hafez Al-Barghouti, regular columnist for Al-Hayat Al-Jadida:
“Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi will leave for Russia on his first visit abroad since assuming power in his country… The Egyptian president is working to build, fortify and defend his country – but this is not in the interests of US policy, since a strong Egypt means an Egypt with a strong Arab [character] – an Egypt that leads. This is impermissible according to the US way of thinking, since US strategy forbids the emergence of an Arab power equal to Israel, Turkey or Iran… In practice, Washington is conspiring against Egypt and El-Sisi, using regional pawns: The Muslim Brotherhood, the remnants of the terror organizations, Qatar and Turkey. The importance of El-Sisi’s visit to Russia is thus similar to that of [Egyptian leader Gamal Abdel] Nasser’s visit after the blockade was imposed on him by the US, the West, Israel and the Muslim Brotherhood, as he was struggling to build the Aswan Dam (in the 1950s, -Ed.). How similar the past is to the present! The same enemies, the same conspirators [who are becoming] Americanized, [sharing] the same pie: Arab oil mixed with Arab blood.”

Fatah commissioner: "The US is in the evil camp" of those who "follow Zionism's money, dollars and media"
Source:
Awdah independent Palestinian TV channel, Aug. 10, 2014
The independent Palestinian TV channel Awdah interviewed Fatah Central Committee Member and Commissioner of Arab Relations and Relations with China Abbas Zaki on August 3, 2014. The interview was posted on August 10, 2014.
Fatah Central Committee Member and Commissioner of Arab Relations and Relations with China Abbas Zaki: “We must now act by consensus. We must formulate a common strategy. We have none among us who would either oppose [the resistance] or [be willing to] compromise. We must reach a point in which no one demands from the other something he cannot do. Whoever can win hearts [and minds] around the world is a hero. Whoever can terrorize them [the Israelis] and send them into the shelters is a hero. Whoever can raise money is a hero. And whoever can build and repair is also a hero… The harsh blockade on Russia strengthens the BRICs – Russia, China, Brazil, India and South Africa. Just yesterday, they opened an international bank, in addition to the existing one, in local currency, with a capital of a hundred billion. So I believe we are not alone. Two camps are now emerging in the world: the good camp and the evil camp. At the moment, the US is in the evil camp. You will soon see that this is no decree of fate – after all the crimes committed, the double standards and the blind recruiting of those who follow Zionism’s money, dollars and media. And they call themselves a [world] power – inconceivable.”

Senior PLO official Hanan Ashrawi attacks Obama for acknowledging Jewish history
Source:
Official Palestinian Authority TV, Aug. 10, 2014
PLO Executive Committee member Hanan Ashrawi: "Look at the most dangerous thing that Obama said to [New York Times journalist] Thomas Friedman. Once again, he [Obama] has adopted the discourse of Zionist ideology. He adopted it when he came to this region, speaking about the Jews' return to their land, and that this is a Jewish state, the Zionist dream, and so on. Obama's adoption of the discourse of extremist Zionist ideology and his turning it into a basis for political decision-making is dangerous."

Fatah official: Israel and the terror org. ISIS are the US' "most advanced pawns"
Source:
Palestine News Network, Aug. 7, 2014

"Fatah Central Committee Member and Commissioner of Arab Relations and Relations with China Abbas Zaki said the Palestinian language and terminology [employed] with the Zionist enemy must be changed, as whoever has seen the extent of the destruction, the ruins and the limbs torn from the pure bodies of our people in Gaza understands the goals of the Zionist attack (i.e., Operation Protective Edge) - [namely,] to exploit the terrible situation in the Arab world that has resulted from the lack of bravery, enthusiasm and willpower among those [countries] who have made subjugation to the US their way [of life]... [The US,] whose most advanced pawns include Israel and its new creation, ISIS, whose goal is to destroy the Arab world and eliminate the Palestinian cause."

"They destroyed the mosque of our lord Jonah [the prophet] in Nineveh. ISIS blew it up, along with all the other mosques that contained shrines of saints... And so we have been living, for around half a century, in a new age of ignorance of religion. This [ignorance] has peaked in [recent] years, with the radical terrorists of ISIS and those like them, who were created by Israel and the US, and are paving the way for Israel to act like them. And if not today, then tomorrow. [Israel’s] dream is to Judaize Palestine, and to expel the Muslims and Christians. And IS is no better than it [Israel]! And Israel is no less than IS!"

Official PA daily: Obama "sees all of these repulsive scenes in Gaza and is happy," views them "as compensation for what befell the blacks"
Source:
Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, July 27, 2014
Op-ed by Ibrahim Abd Al-Majid
“About two weeks have passed since the start of the Israeli massacre in Gaza… Who is responsible for what is happening? This is truly a strange question [to ask] now, since the images of the destruction dispel any doubts regarding its motive. The only motive I can fathom now is that Israel has found an opportunity to start [its] ethnic cleansing, in view of the fact that the Arabs are [currently] busy with what is going on in their countries… Of course, it is [the US] that stands behind these factions who call themselves Islamic and are wrecking destruction in the Arab world, and that allows Israel to declare a Jewish state; yet, [Israel’s] war crimes and crimes against humanity meet with no response from the US… Since the beginning of the Israeli operations, Obama has not said a word… I could find no other explanation for [Obama’s] position and for US policy other than that he is a sadist from the times when the whites persecuted the blacks. He is now behaving with the same sadism that was practiced against him in the past. All the massacres of blacks in Africa and America in the 18th and 19th centuries, all the manifestations of racist discrimination that were so widespread in the US even up to the 1970s – this man sees all of these repulsive scenes in Gaza, and is happy, [seeing this] as compensation for what befell the blacks and as an attempt to overcome it, and out of pride in the actions of a black president whose crimes have surpassed those of all the white presidents.”

Official PA daily: Israel and the US, the "Tatars and Nazis of our times," dig ditches for Palestinian bodies
Source:
Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, July 26, 2014

Headline: “Woe to the makers of the pit (of fire)” [Sura 85:4, trans. Yusuf Ali]
“Palestine, the heart of this entire world, is still shrouded in smoke… The [Israelis] degraded savages, the Tatars and Nazis of our times, have no future unless the [Palestinian] nation is destroyed, leaving no survivors except for traitors, fools and those who are submissive... The disasters befalling us in this blessed land help to clarify the Sura of the Constellations [chapter in the Quran]… The scene [in the Sura] involved the ancient Christian believers … The Quran provides no details about the story, [which] is the summary of a tale about a group of evil men who dug and plowed ditches in the ground, lit raging fires in them and gave the believers [Muslims] a choice between being burned alive and renouncing their faith… In Palestine, they [Israelis] have dug ditch after ditch for us… There is a struggle [going on] between those who carry in their hearts the right [to Palestine], the truth and the cause, and [Israelis] despised creatures devoid of human feelings, who mock man’s right to life and liberty. They are armed by the US and imperialism, who helped them produce and market weapons, and to obtain nuclear warheads, with full impunity.”

Official PA daily: The US tests its weapons on Gazans' "living flesh"
Source:
Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, July 26, 2014
Op-ed by Yahya Rabah, columnist for the official PA daily and a member of the Fatah Leadership Committee in Gaza
“What did Gaza do to Israel to deserve all this death, rampaging everywhere? [What did it do to deserve] the [war] planes – including the new ones coming straight from the American armaments warehouses – and all the shells and bombs – including the newest ones, that sever arms and shins and children’s heads from their bodies – [weapons] the results of whose use the Americans are waiting [to see] on our living flesh, before they use them in their own army?...
Is Israel really what it claims to be – a democratic state, a state of law, coexistence, and acceptance – or is it itself a product of the first massacre at Deir Yassin? Israel of the Etzel (Irgun), the Lehi, the Haganah (Jewish pre-state militia) and the collaborators from the Jewish Agency, who worshipped the gods of their enemies, and formed an alliance with the Nazi Gestapo to organize massacres against the Jews of Germany, to force them to emigrate to Palestine… The Palestinian Gaza nightmare haunts Israel – a nightmare in the form of a question: What if Gaza’s ‘genes’ spread to the region and reach the Arabs, turning them into real Arabs, not obsolete Arabs, and real Muslims, not just an alleged nation? ...
These Israelis will beat themselves for not having been sincere in their promises, alliances and negotiations, instead becoming slaves of illusions and the model of Nazism, which makes them cry at night when they are stricken with nightmares. Yet in the morning, they become adorers of Nazism, and implement that barbaric |

PA daily columnist: US biased “against the blood of our children”
Source:
Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, July 23, 2014

Op-ed by Adli Sadeq, PLO Ambassador to India and regular columnist for the official PA daily.
“What would happen, or what could become worse, if we refused to listen to every American emissary coming in the guise of a mediator [to broker] a ceasefire or renew negotiations – [if] we refused to welcome him or completely avoided speaking to him? American aid is not worth a single day of their bias against us and against the blood of our children…
The US Secretary of State [John Kerry], the unsuccessful and hated mediator, rushed here only after the kidnapping of the Israeli soldier (Oron Shaul). He rushed out of worry to save the soldier who had attacked Gaza in order to kill as many children as possible. This is the US and this is the mediator involved in the aggression!”
Note: The captured Israeli soldier to which this article refers is Staff Sergeant Oron Shaul, who was declared MIA after his Armored Personnel Carrier was destroyed during combat in Gaza on July 17, 2014. Hamas claimed to have kidnapped him. On Friday, July 26, 2014, the IDF declared that Oron Shaul was 'a soldier killed in action whose burial site is unknown.'

This article was published during the 2014 Gaza war as Hamas was firing thousands of rockets at Israel and as Israel was responding with Operation Protective Edge, which aimed at destroying Hamas' terror infrastructure and ability to launch rockets at Israel:
“This aggression is revenge against our people for putting an end to the [Fatah-Hamas] rift, which was a 100% Israeli product in terms of [its] idea, planning and execution…
Thousands are fleeing to the streets with children… without water to moisten the throats of the children and mothers, while the international community is weighed down by its putrid hypocrisy, which no one knows better than us, and the USA stands like the guardian of evil, asking [Israeli Prime Minister] Netanyahu: ‘Are you gratified? Does the blood of the Palestinian children satisfy you?’ Do the body parts of Palestinians satisfy your diabolic hunger, Israel?”
