PLO official: Calls to stop salaries are "insolence and an act of provocation"; recipients are "freedom fighters," not terrorists
Source: Donia Al-Watan (independent Palestinian news agency), Apr. 22, 2017
Headline: "The call to stop the allowances of the families of the Martyrs, prisoners, and wounded is insolence and an act of provocation"
"PLO Executive Committee member and member of the political bureau of the Democratic Front [for the Liberation of Palestine] Tayseer Khaled emphasized that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s statements about stopping the salaries of the Martyrs (Shahids), prisoners, and wounded are insolence and an act of provocation, and come as part of an organized campaign led by the occupation government in coordination with the American administration and several European parties.
Khaled added in an interview with the media outlets that this campaign is not meant to examine the will of the Palestinians to advance in the process of the political arrangement or the peace plan that the American administration is talking about. It is a trial balloon and a tool to measure the willingness to make a series of concessions - which the Al-Quds newspaper reported on from reliable and knowledgeable sources in Washington - including the Palestinian side's return to negotiations without preconditions and stopping the payment of the financial allowances to the prisoners in the prisons and their families. This is under the pretext that this is liable to encourage 'terror,' according to the claims of parties in the Israeli government and the American administration.
He emphasized: 'The source of terror in the region is Jewish–Israeli, and those whose allowances the American administration is demanding to stop are freedom fighters, and the Palestinian side cannot relate to these provocative demands."

Fatah official vows to prevent US embassy move, declaring "Jerusalem is Arab and Islamic"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Mar. 31, 2017
“Deputy Secretary of the Fatah Movement Revolutionary Council Dr. Fayez Abu Aita said… at a central rally organized by the national and Islamic forces in the northern Gaza Strip for Land Day… that transferring the American embassy to Jerusalem is recognition of Israel. He added ‘We will prevent this recognition with all our strength and we will oppose a change of the characteristics of the holy city [of Jerusalem]. Jerusalem is Arab and Islamic and will remain on the list of priorities of the Arab-Israeli conflict, and there will be no Palestinian state without it.’”

Land Day – an annual commemoration of the general strike and demonstrations organized by Israeli Arab residents of the Galilee on March 30, 1976 to protest the Israeli government's decision to expropriate land in the Galilee for security and settlement purposes, which it later implemented. During the protests, demonstrators burnt tires, blocked roads, and threw rocks and firebombs. Six demonstrators were shot and killed by the Israeli army and police. Israeli Arabs and Palestinians consider Land Day a national day.

“Fatah Revolutionary Council member and [Fatah] Movement General Commissioner for Prisoners’ Affairs in Gaza Tayseer Al-Bardini condemned the American request to Jordan to turn over released prisoner Ahlam Tamimi (i.e., terrorist, involved in murder of 15) on the pretext that her name appears on the terror list.
Al-Bardini said that the American request to re-arrest released prisoner and journalist Ahlam Tamimi is a continuation of the harming of the members of our people and of the support for the racist Israeli policy.
The Prisoners’ Committee of the National and Islamic Forces in Gaza also condemned the American demands to arrest and turn over released prisoner Al-Tamimi.”

Ahlam Tamimi was serving 16 life sentences for leading a suicide bomber to the Sbarro pizza shop in Jerusalem on Aug. 9, 2001. 15 people were murdered in the attack, 7 of them children, and 130 were injured. In October 2011, Tamimi was released as part of the Shalit prisoner exchange deal brokered between the Israeli government and Hamas. In that deal, Israel released 1,027 Palestinian prisoners in exchange for Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, who had been held hostage by Hamas for more than 5 years.

Barghouti said that transferring the embassy threatens every possibility of peace in the region, and that the Palestinian people will not sit by idly faced with the dangerous threat that is befalling Jerusalem and its religious, Arab, and Palestinian status.”

PLO official: US is now Israel’s “partner in crime”
Source: WAFA, official PA news agency, Feb. 15, 2017
Headline: “Ashrawi: The US went from an ally biased in favor of Israel to a partner in crime”
“PLO Executive Committee member Hanan Ashrawi said: ‘It is clear that the new American administration supports the positions of [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu and is giving him leeway to eliminate the two-state solution. It is changing from an ally biased in favor of Israel to a partner in crime. If American President [Donald] Trump wants to be rid of the two-state solution in order to create an alternate reality, he must present and clarify what the options and alternatives to it are.’”

A senior White House official said on Feb. 14, 2017, a day before US President Donald Trump’s first official meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, that Trump will not insist on a two-state solution, and is interested in resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict “whether that comes in the form of a two-state solution if that's what the parties want, or something else.”

PA daily prints op-ed comparing Trump to Hitler, Zionists to Nazis
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Feb. 7, 2017
Headline: "Trump's first days, 'the alternative facts'"
Op-ed by Ayman Al-Sayyad, first published on the Egyptian news website Shorouk
"It could be that [US President Donald] Trump does not know the meaning of the word eugenics, and I do not think he has read [the writings of Francis] Galton (a pioneer in eugenics, wrote many books in the 19th century CE –Ed.), as people like him do not read at all. However, in all his positions regarding the other, immigrants, or women, it seems that he is faithful to the same destructive principles that have in the past led racists such as Hitler to almost destroy the world…
History shows us that racist ideas that espouse the superiority of one race over another, as Hitler believed, led to a world war whose victims numbered more than 60 million, and I repeat – 60 million…
Anyone who does not know what discrimination on the basis of origin or identity is can review [Trump’s] decision to ban [the entry of] 'all' citizens of the seven states the decision included, and I repeat 'all citizens,' not the terrorists or the extremists among them, and not even those about whom there are security concerns… Why? Because racists are illogical and they put all the rest, and I repeat – 'all the rest,' in one category. The Nazis who believed in the superiority of the Aryan race acted in this way, and the Zionists act this way when they think that they are ‘Allah's chosen people.'"

PLO official: Trump and Netanyahu are "two sides of the coin of racism"
Source: Ma’an, independent Palestinian news agency, Feb. 7, 2017
Headline: “Al-Salehi: Trump and Netanyahu are two sides of the same coin”
“Secretary-General of the Palestinian People’s Party (i.e., a PLO faction) Bassam Al-Salehi said that the new American administration led by [US President] Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister [Benjamin] Netanyahu are two sides of the coin of racism and the occupation’s perpetuation.
Al-Salehi added in a statement that reached Ma’an that ‘The previous American administrations were biased and partners of the occupation, and strove to defend it in all of the international circles, alongside the military and material support that they provided it. However, the new American administration is also an ideological partner of the idea of occupation and racism that the Netanyahu government is implementing, and this presses the occupation towards greater expansion, aggression, and annexation, including ratification of what is called the Regularization Law that legalizes the theft of Palestinian lands.’ …
He called on the young Palestinians to broaden the campaign of creating contact, including through the social networks, with the forces opposing Trump and racism, and also to broaden the boycott campaign, and to organize activities in conjunction with their struggle with the forces opposing racism in a manner that will serve our people’s struggle against the occupation and racism.
He said: ‘This reality confirms, in a manner that leaves no room for argument, the failure of the policy that gambles on the US, and strengthens the need to immediately end the rift [between Fatah and Hamas], to strengthen the resolve of our people, and to build a unified front for the popular uprising (i.e., including violence).’”

PLO official: The US is conducting terror against the Palestinians
Source: Donia Al-Watan (independent Palestinian news agency), Feb. 2, 2017
Headline: “Khaled: The Trump administration is conducting terror against the Palestinians”
“PLO Executive Committee member and Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) political bureau member Tayseer Khaled said today, Thursday [Feb. 2, 2017], that American President Donald Trump’s administration is conducting terror against the Palestinian people. This was in light of the threats reported in political and media circles against the Palestinian side if it seeks to turn to the International Criminal Court in order to open a legal investigation regarding the settlement crimes in the Palestinian territories that were aggressively occupied in June 1967… He continued: ‘I say this in a clear response to the threat of the new American administration to stop the financial aid to the PA and close the PLO offices in Washington, and the hint regarding other sanctions if we decide to turn to the International Criminal Court in order to sue Israel for its crimes against our people, including the settlement crimes. These types of threats must strengthen our power, our toughness, and our adherence to our right to bring the war criminals to international trial, as we have nothing to lose other than the crumbs of aid that the new American administration wants to pay in order to be rid of its responsibility to defend our interests and our national rights.’”
PLO official threatens diplomatic steps in response to US embassy move

He noted that this step has not yet been cancelled, and that the leadership has not received any assurances on the issue from any authority.
Erekat explained in an interview with [official PA] radio The Voice of Palestine this morning [Jan. 31, 2017] that if the embassy is transferred to Jerusalem, the leadership will stand before fateful decisions, which will begin with revoking the PLO’s recognition of Israel, signing documents to join 16 international organizations, defining the connection with Israel in the political, economic, and security fields in accordance with the decisions of the [PLO] Central Council, and calling on the occupation authority to apply its full authority over the occupied land (i.e., to take over the responsibility for looking after the Palestinian residents of the West Bank from the PA -Ed.).”
Woman on Fatah TV: "The US is the head of the snake and Israel is its spoiled [child]"
Source: Fatah-run Awdah TV, Jan. 30, 2017
Fatah-run Awdah TV program Pulse of the Homeland interviews people on the street about the transfer of the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem
Official PA TV host: “A Palestinian blessing of peace to you, our viewers. In the previous episodes of Pulse of the Homeland we spoke about the danger of transferring the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Today we will repeat the question , declaring our complete rejection of the transfer of the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. The transfer of the American embassy does not create a danger for the Arabs only, but rather for all Muslims worldwide. Our viewers, we will again present the question to citizens, in order to see their viewpoint.”

Palestinian woman: “This is a new crime, a new Balfour Promise (i.e., Declaration), being carried out by the terror state (i.e., Israel ) - I call it in parentheses the ISIS state - and the US is the country that supports it and caused terror worldwide. We know and everyone knows that the US is the head of the snake and Israel is its spoiled [child ]. A decision like this means that Jerusalem is the capital of the State of Israel, and that of course [will only happen] over the dead bodies of all of the noble Palestinians… This will not pass and will not happen.”
[Fatah-run Awdah TV, Pulse of the Homeland, Jan. 24, 2017; Jan. 30, 2017]

The Balfour Declaration of Nov. 2, 1917 was a letter from British Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour to Baron Rothschild stating that “His Majesty's government views with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people” and is seen as the basis for later international commitments to establish the State of Israel.
Fatah council member condemns Egyptian cleric for refusing to publicly oppose US embassy move
Source: Wattan (independent Palestinian news agency)‎, Jan. 27, 2017
Headline: “Zakarneh: Qardawi’s refusal to issue a statement regarding the transfer of the embassy to Jerusalem is incomprehensible”
“Fatah Revolutionary Council member [and Chairman of the Union of Public Sector Employees] Bassam Zakarneh said that great scholar [Egyptian Cleric] Yusuf Qardawi’s refusal to issue a statement of opposition to American President Donald Trump’s decision to transfer the American embassy to Jerusalem is incomprehensible and deserving of condemnation. This is because Jerusalem is the first direction of prayer and the third holiest sanctuary, and it concerns the entire Islamic and Christian nation …
Zakarneh added: ‘We do not want to attack any clergyman without basis, but what is currently demanded of great scholar Qardawi and of the Association of Muslim Scholars is to take a clear position, and all of the sources of authority in the world must act in an organized manner. We will not stop due to the freezing of the American decision, as the level of determination to exploit the opportunity to implement it is now clear.’
Zakarneh said: ‘Why did Qardawi take a position concerning what is happening in Syria? And concerning what happened in Iraq, Libya, and Egypt? Is Jerusalem not the destination of beloved [Prophet] Muhammad’s Night Journey, the first direction of prayer, and the third holiest sanctuary?’”
PLO official claims US embassy move "means that the US is Israel’s partner in committing a war crime"
Source: Donia Al-Watan (independent Palestinian news agency), Jan. 26, 2017
Headline: “Abu Yusuf: Transferring the embassy is a dangerous step and American participation in war crimes”
“Secretary-General of the Palestinian Liberation Front and PLO Executive Committee member Dr. Wasel Abu Yusuf emphasized that transferring the American embassy to Jerusalem is a very dangerous step that means that the US is Israel’s partner in committing a war crime and violating the international law and a principle that has existed since World War II, according to which it is forbidden to annex the territory of others by force.
Abu Yusuf said: ‘[Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu’s positions prove on the ground that it is not possible to establish a Palestinian state whose capital is Jerusalem, and he is trying in this way to gain time.’ He noted that transferring the embassy will cause the spread of terror and the undermining of the stability in the region, in light of the strengthening of the settlement…
He also noted that Jerusalem is the occupied capital of the State of Palestine, and transferring the embassy to it contradicts the decisions of the international bodies, international law, and agreements that were sponsored by the US.
Abu Yusuf emphasized that this constitutes a serious position, as the Palestinian leadership has options, the most prominent of which is strengthening the resolve of our people and its refusal of dictates, and therefore it is necessary to act to expand the scope of the popular resistance in all of its forms (i.e., including violence) and to strengthen the international boycott of the occupation state.”
Fatah official: If the US embassy is moved, the PA will revoke its recognition of Israel, escalate “the peaceful popular resistance”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Jan. 25, 2017
"Fatah Central Committee member Azzam Al-Ahmad said… regarding the transfer of the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, Al-Ahmad said: 'The Palestinian leadership has 19 clauses for dealing with any political step that the US and Israel are liable to take.'
He revealed that the first of these steps is revoking the recognition of the State of Israel and demanding that it recognize the State of Palestine whose capital is Jerusalem, so that a state will recognize a state rather than an organization recognizing a state, alongside the strengthening of the internal Palestinian situation, and the escalation of the peaceful popular resistance (i.e., including violence)‎."

The terms "all means," "peaceful uprising,” and “popular uprising" are ‎often used by PA leaders to refer to events that include violence and deadly terror ‎against Israeli civilians such as rock-throwing, stabbings and even shootings. See ‎Mahmoud Abbas' reference to murderous terror as "peaceful" during the 2015-2016 ‎terror wave (“The Knife Intifada”), which included numerous stabbings, shootings and car ramming attacks in which 40 people were killed (36 Israelis, 1 Palestinian, 2 Americans and 1 Eritrean) and hundreds wounded: http://palwatch.org/main.aspx?fi=157&doc_id=16437

Zaki said in radio statements and in exclusive statements that the options the PA can turn to if the embassy is transferred are an escalation on the ground, stopping the relations in their entirety, cancelling the recognition of Israel, and taking international steps to isolate it vis-à-vis the world, in addition to a request to international organizations that the US has no control over such as [it has over] the UN, where it has always used the right to veto to cancel resolutions condemning ‘Israel.’”
