PA daily op-ed: "America… planted the IS [Islamic State] organization and gave it the oil of the Arabs"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, June 2, 2015
“In America, your host is proud to tell you that there’s no smoking in his house, and therefore you can’t light a cigarette… and pollute the clean space of his home. At the same time, he won’t hesitate or be ashamed to stop you on the street, without knowing you, and ask you for a cigarette. This is also the case regarding the demand of Western regimes to rule democratically and justly, while they give themselves the right and legitimacy to set up torture centers at Guantánamo Bay in southeast Cuba and at the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq. Likewise they legitimized to the uprising in Syria and Libya, and at the same time they don’t [legitimize what is happening] in Yemen. In addition, they supported the uprising of Jan. 25, 2012 in Egypt, and the rise of the [Muslim] Brotherhood to power, but considered [the uprising on] June 30, 2013 as a revolution. This is the same America that planted the IS [Islamic State] organization and gave it the oil of the Arabs, which it sells on the black market to fund its plan - and all this before its [America’s] eyes and ears. This is also the same America that sponsors the Israeli settlement enterprise, while supporting the independence of South Sudan in February 2011, despite the significant differences between the two cases, as the first is occupation, and the second an internal wish [for independence] and a dispute over the distribution of resources.”
PA daily: Abbas refused to not form government with Hamas when asked by the Americans
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, May 27, 2015
Headline: “Azzam Al-Ahmad, in charge of the [Hamas-Fatah] reconciliation: Hamas does not want to end the rift”
From an interview with Fatah Central Committee Member Azzam Al-Ahmad, who is in charge of the reconciliation with Hamas, to the official PA daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida
“Three days after we received the Egyptian document (i.e., the reconciliation agreement between Fatah and Hamas, under Egyptian patronage), US Senator George Mitchell phoned. This was at 1:00 p.m. on Oct. 14, 2009. He started speaking in a most honorable, polite manner. I remember he began by saying: ‘Mr. President, [US] President Obama and the US government respect you, and we request that you not send a representative on your behalf to Cairo to sign the document.’ Later, Mitchel shifted to a threatening language and said: ‘We, the government, cannot control Congress, which threatens to halt aid to the Palestinian Authority if you sign the document with Hamas.’
President Mahmoud Abbas responded immediately: ‘Mr. Mitchel, the unity of our people means more than the satisfaction of Congress, and all the money in the world.’”
Israel and US happy about IS because it serves their interests for “strife and civil wars” in the region to continue
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, May 27, 2015
Excerpt from article by Hafez Barghouti, regular columnist and former editor in chief of Al-Hayat Al-Jadida:
Headline: “Soon they will recognize the Islamic State [IS]”
“Observers agree that it is difficult to wipe out the IS organization in Iraq and Syria. On the contrary, this organization is spreading beyond these countries, and at the moment it rules an area of not less than 200 square kilometers in Eastern Syria and Western Iraq. The official and administrative structure of the organization is being praised by Western top officials, and especially the Americans, as if they admire it, to an extent that in the future they will recognize this organization. This is because what is important in the eyes of the West is not the character of the regime, but the extent to which they protect the essential interests of the West and Israel. Whether it is democratic or monarchic, or a monarchy passed on by inheritance, is not a condition. The condition is the continuation of strife and civil wars. If the West and America succeed in receiving these guarantees [from IS], as the Americans got them from the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt before Mubarak fell, Washington will be the first to recognize Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi as caliph of the IS. This is because according to current American policy there’s a plan to leave the situation of anarchy and warfare in the world as it is, regardless of the identity of the fighters or rulers, because what’s important is the continuation of strife and civil wars, in addition to guarding American and Israeli interests…"

PA daily op-ed mourns death of Saddam’s deputy, praising him for fighting US soldiers “to the end”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Apr. 20, 2015
Op-ed by Hafez Al-Barghouti, regular columnist for Al-Hayat Al-Jadida
“The killing of [Iraqi military commander and Saddam Hussein's former deputy] Izaat al-Douri with a non-American bullet completed the Americans’ list of wanted persons to be assassinated from among the Ba’ath party leaders, a set of playing cards of which Al-Douri was the sixth. Al-Douri is the only Ba’ath movement leader who fought to the end and opposed the Americans and [former Prime Minister of Iraq Nour] Al-Maliki’s Iranian regime… Al-Douri is the only brave one who has fought to the end and has fallen in the battlefield, which he will get credit for, and which will be written in his history, [the history] of an Arab-Iraqi who refused to surrender and chose to resist to the very end, regardless of his past and his role in the conquest of Kuwait.  Izaat Ibrahim Al-Douri, together with [Saddam Hussein’s grandson] Mustafa Qusay Saddam, are the only ones who resisted the occupation to the end, for the youth Mustafa, who was then 14, fought with a sniper rifle even after his father and his uncle Uday had died, and killed 13 American soldiers in Mosul. We do not know the details of Al-Douri’s death, but undoubtedly, he resisted to the end.”
NATO and Israel behind unrest in the Arab world “in order to strengthen Israel’s presence” and its “supremacy”
Source: Dunya Al-Watan (independent Palestinian news agency), Apr. 14, 2015
Headline: “Abbas Zaki clears ambiguity over position regarding Al-Yarmouk”
“In response to the media frenzy and the contradictory positions and declarations voiced recently by numerous Palestinian officials regarding the aggression of IS and other Takfir factions (i.e., Islamist factions ‎that accuse other people or groups of ‎heresy) against the Al-Yarmouk refugee camp, Fatah Central Committee Member and Commissioner of Arab Relations and Relations with China Abbas Zaki stressed that remaining silent in the face of this crime is treason, ignoring the truth is a plot and the confusion in confronting the [IS] aggression is [an act of] cowardice and desertion, a sinking into the quagmire of history’s farces. [He added that] Fatah is not the one using a defective sword to deal with the aggression against its people’s refugee camps, and not the one exposing the flesh of its banished sons to the swords of the traitors and schemers - the agents of NATO and the ghost brigades of the Mossad and the US Intelligence… Zaki said that every battle that begins with slogans of democracy and legitimacy surely ends with ‘Islamic Stateness,’ which is what has happened in Iraq, Syria and Libya, and that what is happening now in Saudi Arabia, Yemen and Sinai will undoubtedly also end with ‘Islamic Stateness.’ That is because the enemies wanted this to be the destiny of our Arab region, within the framework of drawing a new map [for the region], erasing and removing our Palestinian cause from their nations’ agenda, and replacing it with other agendas and priorities. That is because they have decided definitively to divide what was already divided and to change the nation’s map and priorities in order to strengthen Israel’s presence and ensure its supremacy over us.”
PA daily op-ed: McCain has connections with Islamic State leader Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Mar. 24, 2015
Op-ed by Hafez Al-Barghouti, regular columnist for Al-Hayat Al-Jadida

Headline: “Ominous McCain”

“US Senator John McCain came to the aid of [Israeli Prime Minister] Benjamin Netanyahu in his dispute with US President Barack Obama regarding everything related to the two-state solution… The Republicans played a crucial role in backing Netanyahu’s election campaign, when they invited him to speak before the Congress without the American president’s approval, and later [by] threatening Iran with Congress retracting any nuclear agreement. Thus it was revealed that Netanyahu controls the US more than Obama, that the Republican party is the American version of the [Israeli] Likud party, and that McCain is the American Liberman, following the footsteps of Netanyahu. Senator McCain has always been known for his views, opposing Palestinian rights, and blood was spilled everywhere he went in the world: Libya and later Egypt, Syria and Iraq. It was he who, during his visit to Syria, was accompanied by [leader of the Islamic State] Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi, the two [even] appear together in some photographs.”
PA daily columnist responds to US court ruling: “We do not rely on any American court because they are founded on absurdity, not justice”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Feb. 25, 2015
On Feb. 23, 2015, the US Federal District Court in New York ruled that the Palestinian Authority is financially liable for $655 million in damages to victims of terror attacks. 10 American families who are all victims or related to victims of Palestinian terror, sued the PA for damages, saying that the PA was responsible for the terror attacks in which they were personally injured or their relatives were killed during the years of the PA terror campaign (Intifada, 2000-2005).
Op-ed by Hafez Al-Barghouti, regular columnist for official PA daily:

"The Israeli-American Jews played in the American court, which leans in their favor, and sued the PA and the PLO over the wounding of Jews with dual citizenship in [military] operations in Jerusalem. During the same period, between 2002 and 2004, occupation forces attacked all the PA's headquarters and Security Forces, destroyed all the headquarters and attacked dozens of bases of the National Security Forces, the police, the Preventive Security and the Intelligence Forces. In other words, the PA had no sovereignty over its own territory, not to mention the occupied territories under Israeli control, like Jerusalem. The question is, why did these American-Israelis come to occupied land, and why do they become Americans when they are wounded, and Israelis when they commit crimes against our people?
We do not rely on any American court, because they are, by their very nature, founded on absurdity, not on justice. Yet this fact allows us to sue the US administration itself, as well as the US army, for the crimes they carried out against our people by arming and training the occupation army. It also allows us to turn to courts in other countries - Arab and non-Arab alike."

PLO official on PA TV: US is behind Islamic State and other Islamic terror organizations
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Feb. 15, 2015
Official PA TV program The State of Politics hosted Palestinian Popular Struggle Front Secretary General, PLO Executive Committee Member and former Minister of Labor Ahmed Majdalani on the planned visit of PLO representatives to Gaza.

Palestinian Popular Struggle Front Secretary General and PLO Executive Committee Member Ahmed Majdalani: “If we look at the history of the terror organizations, terrorist political Islam, Islamic extremism, and the movements that practice Takfir (i.e., the act of accusing other Muslims of heresy) and support Jihad, you will see that the US is behind them – from Afghanistan to IS, and, if you will, everything…”
Official PA TV host: “…in between.”
Majdalani: “Everything in between.”
PA daily op-ed: “Jewish IS [are] terrorizing” Palestinians and “American IS [are] murdering Arabs”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Feb. 12, 2015
Op-ed by Hafez Al-Barghouti, regular columnist for the official PA daily:
“The US justice system has set a trap for the PA in the form of a lawsuit over the deaths of two Israelis with dual citizenship, Israeli and American, in resistance operations (i.e., terror attacks) at the beginning of the second Intifada (i.e., PA terror campaign 2000-2005)... At the same time (as the lawsuit - Ed.), three Palestinian Americans were murdered near an Islamic center in [North] Carolina – but it went unreported in the American media, and there was no uproar, as if, because of their Palestinian origin, the victims were not part of the human race. What would have happened had they been Jews or Christians? The murder of these Palestinians was a crime no less severe than that [perpetrated] in the Jewish supermarket in Paris [in January 2015], but the latter drew the world’s attention and [provoked] rage against IS, as if there were no Jewish IS [terrorists] terrorizing us on our land, and American IS [terrorists] murdering Arabs. This is because, from the American point of view, there is a difference between IS in Iraq and Syria, who are considered terrorists, and IS in Sinai, who are considered to be resisting the Egyptian regime, because the Egyptian regime is not to Washington’s liking. In addition, there is a difference between someone who harms an American-Israeli in incidents at the height of the Intifada, and Americans with Israeli citizenship who practice terrorism against us…"

Note: Murders in North Carolina – On Feb. 11, 2015, 3 Muslim students were shot to death in their apartment by their neighbor. Police speculated that the killings were linked to religion, but the victims and the killer had also been involved in a personal dispute. The killer turned himself in.

PA daily op-ed on the Republican party: “Its ‎gaze is fixed on… sowing chaos in the world”‎
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Feb. 12, 2015
Op-ed by Adli Sadeq, PLO Ambassador to ‎India and regular columnist for the official ‎PA daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida:
‎“It is well known that most Jewish ‎organizations in the US lean towards the ‎Democratic party and not towards the ‎Republicans. At the same time, these ‎organizations have to disassociate ‎themselves from both [Israeli Prime ‎Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu and the ‎President [Obama] who belongs to the ‎party closer to them – even though ‎historically, the Democratic party was the ‎supporter of the blacks and the Jews, ‎while the Republican party was the most ‎enthusiastic supporter of Israel, the ‎imperialist tool. This [Republican] party ‎ignites wars and increases arms sales, ‎speeds up armament, while its gaze is ‎fixed on oil and sowing chaos in the ‎world, in order to serve the interests of ‎the industrial monopolies, especially the ‎military ones, which are hiding behind its ‎representatives in Congress.”‎
US uses “extremist terror organizations… to ‎open the bellies of countries and scatter ‎their innards”‎
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Feb. 9, 2015
Op-ed by Adli Sadeq, PLO Ambassador to ‎India and regular columnist for the official ‎PA daily:
‎“The US has shifted away from Pakistan, ‎one of the ‘fountainheads’ of the extremist ‎terror organizations, with which the ‎Americans used to open the bellies of ‎countries and scatter their innards. Then ‎they [come and] interfere [in those ‎countries] in order to gather up the ‎innards and distribute them into vessels, ‎according to their whims.”‎

PA daily warns of the “three-way conspiracy” by Israel, the US, and the Muslim Brotherhood to harm Egypt
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Feb. 1, 2015
Op-ed by Muwaffaq Matar, regular columnist for the official PA daily
“We can consider the damage [wrought by] the terrorist criminals at the Egyptian army posts at El-Arish in light of the strong, thin threads that interweave the plans of the Muslim Brotherhood – both its Palestinian and Egyptian branches – with collaboration with the US administration and Israel, for each of these sides wishes [to see] the dramatic collapse of the army of Arab Egypt, the fall of the fortress of the Egyptian Arab Republic and its nation, and the disassembling of the country into districts, small countries and emirates!
The reason for this is that their [the Muslim Brotherhood and the US and Israel] schemes [call for] the weakening and dispersal of the Egyptian army which constitutes the backbone of the oldest country on the map of the Arab homeland, just as the armies of [other] Arab countries [were weakened] ahead of the dismantling of the country itself..."

PA daily op-ed: The US “supports the terrorism in Egypt” and its “aim” is “to destroy Egypt”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Feb. 1, 2015
Op-ed by Hafez Al-Barghouti, regular columnist for Al-Hayat Al-Jadida
“It is no longer a secret that there is clear American support behind the terrorism in Egypt, by way of two supporting proxies – Qatar and Turkey, who have adopted the international Muslim Brotherhood organization. Although the so-called ‘[Ansar] Bait Al-Maqdis’ organization has declared its allegiance to IS, the Americans are still relying on it to undermine stability in Egypt, while in Iraq and Syria, they are fighting it using alternatives no less barbaric than it [itself], such as the Shi’ite sectarian militias in Iraq. This is because the aim is to destroy Egypt and inflict losses on the Egyptian army…
Those who repeatedly deny the existence of a scheme are collaborating with it – for it is inconceivable that, for example, attacks in Sinai should occur immediately after a Shi’ite mosque in Pakistan, a market in Baghdad and cities in Yemen, Libya and Syria were attacked, without [there being] any connection between [the attacks].
What is happening has nothing to do with Islam, but rather with devilish and demonic acts. The stage manager, the planner of all this destruction attempts to portray Islam as a barbaric religion, while [his] collaborators, the mercenaries, the apostates and the hypocrites are the ones doing all this in the name of Islam, which is innocent of their [actions].”
Netanyahu and the US were behind Paris terror attacks
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Jan. 27, 2015
Op-ed by Muwaffaq Matar, regular columnist for the official PA daily:
Headline: "When Netanyahu plays behind the White House's back"
"A few hours after [Israeli PM Netanyahu's] government summoned the French ambassador in Tel Aviv to protest France's vote in favor of the proposed Palestinian decision in the [UN] Security Council to end the occupation, the reports of the criminal attack on the Charlie Hebdo newspaper and the Jewish store in Paris arrived, along with the news of the victims' deaths. In addition, a few hours after [Japanese] Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's first visit to Palestine and his meeting with the President of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, whom [Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor] Liberman, one of the pillars of the government, considers 'the Palestinian who poses the greatest threat to the existence of Israel,' Al-Qaeda kidnapped two Japanese citizens. The double rhetorical question here is: Did [the plan] to strike Japan occur to Bin Laden's Al-Qaeda and [Abu Bakr] Al-Baghdadi's IS only after this visit, or is it that Netanyahu has his own Al-Qaeda and IS, which he operates in order to kill the citizens of every influential country in the region that opposes the policy of the occupation and settlement state? The kidnapping of the two Japanese citizens and the crime committed against Charlie Hebdo and the Jewish store in Paris were not coincidences... We believe there is a conspiracy at work, for the US and Israeli intelligence [services] are the greatest experts at exploiting the organizations that emerge in areas of conflict."

Official PA daily: US and Israel fund terror groups, use them to carry out plan for “New Middle East”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Jan. 18, 2015
Op-ed by Omar Hilmi Al-Ghoul, regular columnist for official PA daily
“After focusing their attention on the reasons behind the growth of terror groups that condemn others for heresy, all the local, Arab, regional and international forces must face the question of how to eliminate terror. Some may say that examining the reasons [behind terrorism], may open the way to answering these questions, but the main questions remain the following: Is reform or revolution necessary in order to deal with the roots of terrorism and the groups that condemn [others] as heretics? Which agents of change are capable of raising the flag of the revival of the Arab and Muslim societies? Is it [not] possible to rely on existing regimes and their methods? Will the West in general and the US and Israel in particular renounce these groups and cut off their funding, or vice versa? In other words, can it be that the role of these groups has expired, or rather, are they still a regional element that the US and its allies rely upon? If we start answering [these questions] from last [to first], we can establish that the decision makers in the White House and in Tel Aviv and their followers still rely on these groups for the realization of their plan [for] a ‘New Middle East.’”
Fatah student movement: Canada is “complicit in the perpetration of massacres” against Palestinians
Source: Facebook, Fatah - The Main Page, Jan. 17, 2015
Text posted on Fatah’s Facebook page, “Fatah – The Main Page”:
“Fatah’s Shabiba [youth] movement calls: Dear brothers and sisters: Please distribute this invitation and participate. If you live, live as free men.
After the intentional [media] blackout on the place and time of the Canadian foreign minister’s visit, it became known that the meeting will take place at the [PA] Foreign Ministry at 11 a.m. tomorrow [Jan. 18, 2015]. Therefore, we in Fatah’s Shabiba [youth] movement call on all our nation’s free men to participate in the protest vigil, to demand the cancellation of the meeting with him and the rejection of the official Canadian position which is complicit, along with the occupation, in the perpetration of massacres and the denial of our elementary rights… Our nation’s torments and suffering are more important than all diplomatic conventions. Your presence constitutes support for our nation’s honor. Your presence constitutes support of Palestine.”
Israel as a pirate receiving US support
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Jan. 17, 2015

Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, the official PA daily, published a cartoon showing a pirate with a cutlass as a religious Jew with sidelocks and a fedora – representing Israel – supported by Uncle Sam, who stands behind him with his arm around his shoulder, next to an ATM machine. They are both standing in a pirate ship containing the Al-Aqsa Mosque, a church, Gaza and Israel’s separation fence. The usual skull on the Jolly Roger flag has been exchanged with a Star of David.
Fatah spokesman: Canada should ‎apologize for its support for Israel
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Jan. 17, 2015
‎“Fatah spokesman Ahmad Assaf ‎expressed his surprise and condemnation ‎of Canadian foreign minister John Baird’s ‎request that the members of the PLO ‎Executive Committee and the head of the ‎Department for Negotiation Affairs ‎apologize to Israeli Prime Minister ‎Benjamin Netanyahu for having ‎compared his crimes to those of the ‎Islamic State terror organization. In a ‎statement to the press yesterday, Friday ‎‎[Jan. 16, 2015], Assaf emphasized that the ‎occupation was the worst form of ‎terrorism, no less abominable than the ‎terrorism of the Islamic State, and in fact ‎‎[even] more abominable… He added: ‎‎‘[Canadian Prime Minister Steven] Harper ‎and Baird are the ones who should ‎apologize to the Canadian people for the ‎damage their policy, which is biased ‎towards the occupation, has done to ‎Canada and its people, and to the ‎Palestinian people, which is suffering a ‎historic injustice.’”‎
