Official PA daily: Israel, with "green light" from US, does ‎“what it pleases in Gaza, with the excuse of protecting its citizens”‎
Source: Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, July 17, 2014
Op-ed by Muwaffaq Matar, regular ‎columnist for the official PA daily
Headline: “Why did you refuse the ‎Egyptian [peace] initiative?”‎
‎“Hamas leaders describe the Egyptian ‎‎[peace] initiative as ‘defeatist'... even ‎though they know it is a copy of the 2012 ‎Hudna (armistice) agreement between ‎Hamas and Israel. So then, on what ‎grounds did they, at the time, consider the ‎Hudna [proposed] by the deposed ‎president of the Muslim Brotherhood, ‎Mohamed Morsi, a ‘victory’... while ‎they [now] consider the Egyptian initiative ‎of National Egyptian President Abdel ‎Fattah el-Sisi as ‘defeatist’ and a ‎‎‘surrender?!’ The initiative’s central aims ‎are to stop the Palestinian bloodshed and ‎the destruction of their houses and ‎property, and to prevent the US from ‎giving Israel a ‘green light’ to do what it ‎pleases in Gaza, with the excuse of ‎protecting its citizens. But at the same ‎time, it could have... stopped the ‎spilling of the blood of innocent people ‎and stopped the counting of Martyrs ‎‎(Shahids), wounded and homes brought ‎down on the heads of their residents, as ‎happened to the Batesh and Kaware ‎families, may they rest in peace...
We do not rule out the possibility that ‎Hamas will agree to a ceasefire or to a ‎new Hudna, provided it comes from ‎regional players like Qatar or Turkey... Hamas will never agree to the ‎initiative of the new Egyptian government; ‎for its leaders included in their ‎calculations that one of their goals in this ‎war was to raise the value of the Muslim ‎Brotherhood’s stocks, which have crashed ‎on the political stock market."

Official PA daily: US planned Gaza war and wars in Iraq, Syria and Libya
Source: Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, July 16, 2014
Op-ed by Muharram Barghouti in the official PA daily
"Taking a closer look at what is happening in the region we can see that the wars in Libya, Iraq, Syria and Palestine were planned by the US in order to protect its interests...
The US is using extremists as human shields fighting on its behalf, so that American soldiers will no longer be in danger of returning home in coffins. The ISIL (Islamic State in Iraq and Levant), Islamic Front, and Al-Nusra Front (i.e., all radical Islamists) are Muslims from various countries the US is using to fight in Iraq and Syria, in order to fragment the unity of these two Arab countries...
Following the decline and defeat of the [US] plot in Syria, and after the announcement of the first steps toward ending the [Fatah-Hamas] rift in Palestine, the US has been using the Jewish ISIL, which is led by Jewish extremism, as represented by [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu and [Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor] Liberman. This in the wake of an incitement campaign and the education of the Israeli public to murder Arabs and expel the Palestinians from the land of 'Israel.'... In an attempt to undermine the resolution of the [Fatah-Hamas] rift, the US engaged the Jewish ISIL to attack Gaza - not just in order to commit crimes, kill and destroy, but also to stir up an inter-Palestinian civil war, in an attempt to deepen the rift and Gaza's separation from the rest of the occupied homeland, to prevent the establishment of the independent [Palestinian] state...
We are now more aware that the Americans - who want to fight for their own interests using Islamic, Jewish and Christian believers - are truly the head of the snake."

The US created ISIS in order to establish ethnic conflict; Kerry plans on dividing Iraq
Source: Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, June 30, 2014
Headline: “The objectives of Kerry’s last ‎tour”‎
Op-ed by Omar Hilmi Al-Ghoul, columnist ‎for official PA daily and advisor to former ‎PA Prime Minister Salam Fayyad on ‎national affairs
‎“[US Secretary of State] John Kerry’s tour ‎of the region was not made out of concern ‎for Iraq’s unity and territory… but in order ‎to implement the [American ‎administration’s] plot of dividing Iraq, ‎against which it waged a world war in the ‎beginning of the 1990s, and then ‎conquered in 2003…‎
As everyone knows, the US, along with ‎the countries of the region, created many ‎organizations that blame others of heresy, ‎among them the ISIS or the Islamic State ‎of Iraq and Basham, for the purpose of ‎establishing the religious, sectarian and ‎ethnic conflict. As part of this, it supported ‎the Shiite sectarian forces and appointed ‎‎[Iraqi Prime Minister] Nouri Al-Maliki, its ‎and Iran’s common ally, for this purpose. ‎He played a most important role in ‎carrying out the greater part of its [the US’] ‎plot in Iraq. With his rash, yet calculating ‎policy, he has contributed to increasing ‎the sectarian conflict between the Sunnis ‎and the Shiites and between the Kurds ‎and the Arabs.”‎
US gave Iraq the idea to invade Kuwait, interferes in Arab affairs with ultimate goal being "destruction of the Palestinian cause"
Source: Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, June 26, 2014
Op-ed by Hafez Barghouti, regular columnist for the official PA daily
“The US gave Iraq the idea of conquering Kuwait in order to eliminate it; in addition, new plans for altering the Arab map were exposed, such as the annexation of Bahrain by Iran, the division of Iraq and then of Saudi Arabia, the annexation of Kuwait by Iraq, the establishment of a group of states in Syria and the destruction of the Palestinian cause.
And now the American TIME magazine is once more exposing this plan, which will begin in Iraq – while the Arabs are suffering from an unprecedented helplessness – and after Iraq, it will be the turn of another of the sectarian… tribal and clan states.”
Official PA daily: The US and Britain "aided this [Israel's] distorted birth"
Source: Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, June 23, 2014
Op-ed by Fathi Al-Bis, regular columnist for the official PA daily
"The region around us is burning. The abhorrent sectarianism (i.e., wars in Iraq and Syria) is burning everything...
Israel - a product of myth, racism and war - believes that the conflagration in the region gives it a free hand and respite, and that the flames won't reach it. It therefore continues to kill, burn, destroy and attack, in all the forms inappropriate to human beings. Its leaders forget that these flames are burning because of it, and will be directed towards it in the end.
Israel's racist and extremist leadership has not learned its lesson. For over 60 years now, it has been killing, causing [people] to flee, expelling, taking prisoners, winning wars and annexing lands. But in reality, it is in crisis, because it has not succeeded in extinguishing the flames in the soul of the Palestinian Arab, and has not succeeded in obliterating the Palestinian national identity...
The Palestinian lives in tranquility regarding his future, for he lives the times, the reality and the truth, while the Israeli lives in the helmets of the soldiers of myth, who are killers and savages, and restless regarding their future. [They] cover themselves with weapons from head to foot, yet cannot close their eyes, out of fear and a lack of a sense of security. This is because security has not been achieved since Israel was born, despite the huge support it received from the West - especially from the US and European countries like Britain, who aided this distorted birth."

PLO member: Congress members who called to stop aid following unity government between Fatah and Hamas “are more ‎extreme than the Israeli right”
Source: Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, June 14, 2014
“Eighty-eight US Parliament (i.e., Congress) members from the Republican and Democratic parties have demanded that US President Barack Obama halt the transfer of US aid money to the PA in response to the formation of the [Fatah-Hamas] national unity government. An open letter to Obama from the Congress members said that ‘the establishment of the unity government has damaged Congressional support for the transfer of financial aid to the PA, and necessitates the exertion of pressure on Mahmoud Abbas to end his alliance with Hamas and return to the negotiating table.’ [translation of Arabic paraphrase]
In response to the Congress members’ letter, PLO Executive Committee Member Dr. Hanan Ashrawi said that ‘these are means of [exerting] pressure that constitute the power supporting Zionism and Israel, as they are even more extremist than the Israeli right and Benjamin Netanyahu.’ In a statement, Ashrawi mused: ‘If the Israeli government transferred the tax money despite its attempt to boycott the Palestinian consensus government (In accordance with the Oslo Accords, Israel collects taxes on behalf of the Palestinian Authority and transfers the money to the PA), and [if it] understood that damaging the PA and the government would have dangerous consequences, how can these [people] demand the cessation of aid to the Palestinian government?’ Ashrawi emphasized that the letter’s signatories are trying to tell Israel that they are more Zionist than the Israelis themselves – even though the US administration understands that the Palestinian government is a government of independent [professionals], with no members from Hamas or any other faction – which is why it [the US] took no steps to punish it.”
Official PA daily: Israel is an "ethnic cleansing state‎" established by the "colonialist West"
Source: Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, May 27, 2014
Headline: “Netanyahu establishes ‎racism”‎
‎“Since the establishment of the Israeli ‎ethnic cleansing state, it has been ‎spreading racism and creating hatred, ‎hostility and occupation, even though its ‎founding colonialist leaders tried to ‎clothe it in ‘democratic’ garb to hide the ‎ugliness of the Nakba (i.e., ‘the ‎catastrophe,’ Palestinian term for the ‎establishment of the State of Israel)…‎
Since it was the colonialist West, in all its ‎capitalist varieties, that supported it and ‎established its growth and development ‎on Arab Palestinian land, it has ‎advanced and disseminated the distorted ‎idea of its being ‘democratic.’ It even ‎brainwashed world public opinion, when ‎it spread [the claim] that Israel was ‘the ‎only oasis of democracy’ in the Greater ‎Middle East and among the peoples of ‎the Arab nation, for well-known purposes ‎that are linked to the interests of the ‎capitalist West in general and in ‎particular, the US…‎
The new Jewish ‘ghetto’ state has ‎passed many decisions and laws ‎establishing its racist character as a state ‎for the Zionist Jews. It has used the ‎ugliest forms of racism against the Arab ‎Palestinian people…
Nonetheless, the Palestinians in the ‎interior (i.e., Israeli Arabs) and wherever ‎they are must cooperate with those who ‎support peace and real coexistence with ‎the Israelis… to safeguard their rights, ‎their freedom and their national identity, ‎and to broaden the circle of the ‎supporters of peace and coexistence ‎within Israel… with the aim of ‎strengthening the peace option based on ‎the two-state solution.”‎

Fatah official: Israel is a “colonialist Zionist enterprise” in alliance with the US that seeks to weaken the entire Arab region
Source: Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, May 15, 2014
Op-ed by Fatah Central Committee member Abbas Zaki
“On May 14, 1948, colonialist Britain announced the end of its Mandate in Palestine and the completion of its mission, [which was] to allow the Zionist movement to take over... That same night, the leader of the armed Zionist gangs, David Ben Gurion, finished reading the declaration of the ‘independence of the State of Israel,’ as it was called, to the leaders of these gangs. With them, he approved Plan D, and on the morning of May 15, [1948] the Holocaust of Palestine, its great Nakba began… [We are still struggling] to prepare ourselves for the restoration of all the rights we lost and to concentrate all our power and ability on achieving the great victory and putting an end to the Zionist settlement enterprise on our Palestinian land…
As we have seen throughout the history of the conflict, the functional aspect of the colonialist Zionist enterprise outside of Palestine’s borders calls for engaging in war and aggression against the Arab nation, completely dominating all political, social and economic channels in the neighboring Arab countries, weakening and embroiling them in wars and internal and external conflicts, and weakening the [entire] Arab region, exhausting it, to keep it under foreign influence and hegemony forever …
Beyond the borders of the Arab world, it also demands, as we have seen, the forging of a strategic alliance with the United States – where AIPAC and the Zionist lobby have a strong influence – and with the fascist regimes and oppressive regimes in Asia, Africa and Latin America. [It also demands] supporting separatist and reactionary movements among nations fighting for their freedom and national independence... in order to keep them in the cycle of poverty and dependence on monopolistic global companies.”

Official PA daily: U.S. economic aid to Israel "creates a fertile environment for acts of theft and robbery among the ranks of Israeli leaders"
Source: Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Apr. 3, 2014
Op-ed by Omar Hilmi Al-Ghoul, regular columnist for Al-Hayat Al-Jadida
“[Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud] Olmert’s conviction on [charges of] corruption is a crushing blow to his political history, and can be considered the defining moment in the closing chapter of his political time... which will make it difficult for him to return to politics – though anything is possible and permissible in the apartheid state, given its settler character.
The State of Israel, according to the testimony of Judge Rosen (the judge in the Olmert case) and others, is a breeding ground for all forms and manifestations of corruption and mafia, and the political and military classes may well be playing a central role in furthering these manifestations, which threaten the unity of Israeli society. This phenomenon has both subjective and objective causes [including]: 1. The lack of belief among these leaders in the continued existence of their state, given their understanding that it is an unnatural state and that the dangers surrounding it render the chances of its continued [existence] elusive. 2. The ideological, political, moral and ethical foundations of the Israeli elites are weak; they understand that the Israeli Zionist narrative is based on lies and falsifications of truth, history and reality. 3. The nature of [Israel’s] relationship with the capitalist West – especially the United States, which lavishes on Israel the highest financial and economic aid, and sets the mood and creates a fertile environment for acts of theft and robbery among the ranks of Israeli leaders. 4. The nature of the relationship between the heads of global financial capital and the Zionist movement, in which the Jewish Zionist families play a pivotal role in reinforcing corruption and bribery, [can be seen] in the same context.”
PA opposes US budget committee's decision to condition US aid to PA on cessation of incitement
Source: Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Feb. 26, 2014
“The [PA] government has expressed its opposition to the US Congress budget committee’s [decision] to condition its support of the law for the continuation of American aid to the PA on the cessation of PA incitement against Israel, and to make the new American aid law contingent on a special, documented report, to be submitted to the committee, confirming that incitement against Israel has decreased.
The government emphasized that the true incitement is the Israeli government’s insistence on breaking international humanitarian laws and on violating international institution [decisions] and human rights.”
Israel, supported by the US, pursues an "aggressive" policy against the Palestinian people
Source: Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Feb. 21, 2014
“The Chairman of the [Palestinian] National Council (i.e., the legislative body of the PLO), Salim Al-Za'anoun, met with former Iranian president Heshami Rafsanjani in Tehran, the Iranian capital. Al-Za'anoun congratulated Rafsanjani, on behalf of the Palestinian people, on the 35th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Iranian revolution, and recalled having been beside the late President Arafat when the latter received [possession of the] the Palestinian embassy, which replaced the Israeli one. He also emphasized to his host, Rafsanjani, the Palestinians’ faith in the continuation of Iran’s support of the Palestinian cause, given its [Iran’s] position as a powerful Islamic axis nation in the region, and described to him the calamities the Palestinian people has been suffering as a result of the aggressive Israeli policy that is supported by the US- specifically, the continuation of settlement [construction], the siege that has been laid on Gaza and the threats to Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque.”
Coup in Egypt "saved the Arab nations from the dark tunnel which the US government and other powers wanted"
Source: Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Feb. 18, 2014
From an interview with Tayeb Abd Al-Rahim, Secretary-General of the Presidential Office in the Egyptian newspaper, Al-Ahram:
“Q: ‘Did Hamas’ support of the Muslim Brotherhood and its interference in Egyptian affairs affect relations between the PA and Egypt?’
A: ‘We are convinced that what happened in Egypt (i.e., the military coup against the Muslim Brotherhood) is a miracle by any standards – [a miracle] that saved the Arab nations from the dark tunnel which the US government and other powers wanted under the heading of ‘a new Middle East.’
We condemn the damage Hamas caused Egypt’s national security, because this is a blow to the very core of Arab national security. Hamas is a part of the Muslim Brotherhood and has no inhibitions or red lines, and the Palestinian nation and its leadership firmly oppose any interference in Egyptian affairs.’”

Governor of Ramallah: “The West's plans” to “disperse Palestinian and Egyptians people have failed”
Source: Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Feb. 11, 2014
“District Governor of Ramallah and El-Bireh Laila Ghannam emphasized that the efforts of some to disperse the Palestinian and Egyptian peoples in all directions have failed. She added that ‘The West’s plans against our civilization have not affected the kinship between the two nations.’
These remarks were made yesterday [Feb. 10, 2014] during her [Ghannam’s] farewell [address] to Egyptian Ambassador to the PA Yasser Othman, who has completed his term, at the seat of the district [government] in Ramallah.”
PA daily blames “the Israeli and American forces of evil” for internal fighting in Lebanon
Source: Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Feb. 8, 2014
“Anyone who goes back to the war (between Fatah al-Islam and the Syrian army) of the Nahr Al Bared refugee camp (near Tripoli, Lebanon) in May of 2007, whose after-effects can still [be felt], and [examines] its goals, will understand that the purpose of that insane war was to liquidate the refugee camp and expel its residents. These aims, however, were not fully achieved. This compelled the Israeli and American forces of evil, as well as the Arabs who follow them, to redo [now] the scenario using old-new means: the Takfir organizations (i.e., those defining other Muslims as unbelievers) falsely claim to want to protect the refugee camps, Jerusalem and the Islamic holy sites, by attacking Hezbollah and Syria…
Yet the refugee camps, the holy sites, Palestine and the Islamic religion have nothing to do with these organizations…
Furthermore, there are additional goals still on the agenda, including the establishment of a US military base in the village of Kleiat near Tripoli, close to the Syrian-Lebanese border, and maintaining the security of Israel.”
Palestinian National Council Chairman claims Arab world must counterbalance US support of Israel
Source: Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Feb. 2, 2014
“[Palestinian] National Council Chairman Salim Al-Za'anoun has called on parliaments around the world to declare their full support for President Mahmoud Abbas’ resolve, in order to combat the pressure and threats that Israel is voicing against him.
In a speech delivered before 53 Islamic legislative bodies at a meeting in Tehran, the Iranian capital, as a participant in the discussions of the ninth session of the union of parliaments from member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, [Al-Za'anoun] emphasized that the US’ tendency to favor Israel, as well as the financial, political and military support it provides it, must be answered by equal support of the Palestinian people by Islamic and Arab countries in order to achieve the necessary balance."

Fatah official: “America, more than Israel, is responsible for the failure of the peace process"
Source: YouTube, Jan. 27, 2014
Interview with Fatah Central Committee Member Azzam Al-Ahmad on Jordan TV’s Third Opinion program.
Al-Ahmad: “What has been accomplished so far [in the negotiations]? Nothing. On the contrary, we’ve gone backwards. In my opinion, Kerry’s approach is wrong. Kerry’s personal approach is wrong, so I say clearly: America, more than Israel, is responsible for the failure of the peace process.”
Host: “Because of their patronage.”
Al-Ahmad: “Not just because of their patronage, but because they favor Israel, because they pamper Israel, their spoiled child. What have they proposed? They’ve proposed ideas that have destroyed the understandings reached by Abbas, Condoleezza Rice and Olmert.”
...
Al-Ahmad: “Even if the United States gets angry at us, and wants to punish us and stop aid – our national rights are more important than having the United States smile at us. Therefore, we say that we too have the right to use all forms of struggle at the appropriate time, including the other forms of struggle - armed or not armed. "

The US and Israel are trying to destroy the Arab world
Source: Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Dec. 29, 2013
Columnist for official PA daily, Adel Abd Al-Rahman:
“The Egyptian regime’s decision to deem the Muslim Brotherhood ‘a terrorist organization’ did not come suddenly or as a result of a quick and arbitrary response. […]
[Interim Egyptian Prime Minister] Hazem Al-Beblawi’s government’s brave response drew contradictory responses, since the organization’s supporters in Arab and Islamic official and partisan circles announced their ‘condemnation of the decision’; while all moderate official, partisan and popular forces accepted this decision and even said that it came somewhat late. The general Arab tendency, however, welcomed this decision. The US – the Muslim Brotherhood’s ally – opposed the decision because it threatens its scenarios, especially because it still relies on the Brotherhood to play an important role later on, by creating mechanisms that will restore their [the Brotherhood’s] status in the official Arab regimes.
This [opposition is] due to their fear that the Egyptian decision constitutes a general Arab and regional attack among the regimes and nations that is meant to uproot the Brotherhood’s international organization, the capitalist West’s strategic ally and its tool for fragmenting the region’s nations and states. […]
The brave Egyptian decision necessitates uniting the efforts of all nationalists and democrats in the Arab world if they want to maintain the unity of their states and block the way for the US’ and Israel’s efforts and plans of destruction in the Arab region.”
The US is the “primary enemy” of the Arab and Islamic nation
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Dec. 22, 2013
Official PA TV Live broadcast the third conference of Fatah’s Lebanon branch.
Fatah Central Committee member and director of Fatah’s Foreign Branch Commission Jamal Muhaisen:

“We say to our Arab nation, of which many today have become an instrument for implementing the policy of the US, the primary enemy of our Arab nation and our Islamic nation, [an enemy] that is trying to turn the conflict from an Arab-Israeli [conflict] into a regional, sectarian and national conflict, in order to fragment the region even further, as a service to the Zionist entity, and so Israel will retain supremacy over all Arabs. We say to the American instruments, and to anyone who supported the unrealistic slogan ‘the Arab Spring’: This is the American autumn. This is an effort to destroy the potential for [establishing] an Arab nation and to divide the Arab nation according to the American plans. The time has come for stronger popular unification to deal with these plans. This doesn’t prevent the existence of an internal struggle to strengthen democracy and increase freedom for the nations that sometimes experience abuse and tyranny under various regimes.”

Fatah official: US, Israel and the Muslim Brotherhood (including Hamas) conspire against the Palestinian cause
Source: Official PA TV Live, Dec. 19, 2013
Official PA TV Live broadcast the main event marking World Teachers’ Day in Bethlehem. Several PA officials attended the event (according to Facebook page of the Head of Education in Bethlehem): PA Minister of Education Ali Zaidan (Abu Zuhri), Fatah Central Committee member Tawfiq Tirawi, Advisor to PA Chairman Abbas on NGOs and Member of Fatah Central Committee Sultan Abu Al-Einein, District Governor of Bethlehem Abd Al-Fattah Hamayel and director of the Bethlehem Education Administration Nisreen Yasser Amr.
Fatah Central Committee member Tawfiq Tirawi delivered the Fatah Central Committee speech: “We say to those who hijacked these revolutions (i.e., the Arab Spring), to the Muslim Brotherhood movement, of which the Hamas movement is a part, being its branch in Palestine: No party or group will succeed if it doesn’t keep the Palestinian cause as the highest priority in its mind. We say to Egypt – Egypt of Arabness, Egypt of Arab nationalism, Egypt of Abd Al Nasser, Egypt of the Egyptian army that crossed the Suez Canal (Beginning the Yom Kippur War against Israel in 1973, Egypt crossed its ceasefire line with Israel, crossing the Suez Canal to enter Sinai, - Ed.): ‘Yes, we are with you and against any who murder and use terrorism against the Egyptian army. The American conspiracy with the Muslim Brotherhood in the Arab homeland – its basic purpose is to take the issue of Palestine 50 years backwards. Who in Syria is talking about Palestine now? Who in Tunisia is talking about Palestine? In Yemen? In Egypt? Where are the Palestinian and his cause in these countries? This is the American-Israeli conspiracy. A just revolution began, and the Americans conspired against it with the Muslim Brotherhood’s assistance. This is the biggest conspiracy against the Palestinian cause.’”
