“General Political Commissioner [of the PLO Political and National Guidance Authority] and Official Spokesman of the [PA] Security Forces Adnan Al-Damiri said that our people is armed more than ever with hope to achieve its national goals, to build its independent state, to liberate the land, to defeat the occupation, and to achieve its independence. He added that the Palestinians are a people of giants thanks to its history, its Martyrs (Shahids), and its prisoners who are in the occupation’s prisons, and that the dreams of giants come to pass.
Al-Damiri made these statements today [March 30, 2017] during a meeting with students from the Yatta branch of Al-Quds Open University, its student council, its staff, and many representatives of the security branches and the civilian, official, public, and private institutions in Yatta…

He mentioned the Al-Karemeh Battle, [International] Women’s Day, Mother’s Day, Land Day, the deaths as Martyrs of Dalal Mughrabi (i.e., terrorist who led murder of 37, 12 of them children), Wadi’ Haddad (i.e., PFLP terror leader), and Sheikh Ahmed Yassin (i.e., founder and former head of Hamas), and the rest of the events that again emphasize for us the way of the Martyrs and the adherence to the goals for which they died.”
The Karameh battle, or Al-Karameh - On March 21, 1968, Israeli army forces attacked the town of Karameh in Jordan, where Fatah terrorists had been launching attacks on Israel. Although Israel prevailed militarily, Arafat used the event for propaganda purposes, declaring the battle a great victory that erased the disgrace of the 1967 Six Day War defeat.
Land Day – an annual commemoration of the general strike and demonstrations organized by Israeli Arab residents of the Galilee on March 30, 1976 to protest the Israeli government's decision to expropriate land in the Galilee for security and settlement purposes, which it later implemented. During the protests, demonstrators burnt tires, blocked roads, and threw rocks and firebombs. Six demonstrators were shot and killed by the Israeli army and police. Israeli Arabs and Palestinians consider Land Day a national day.
Dalal Mughrabi led the most lethal terror attack in Israel’s history, known as the Coastal Road massacre, in 1978, when she and other Fatah terrorists hijacked a bus on Israel's Coastal Highway, murdering 37 civilians, 12 of them children, and wounding over 70.
Wadi’ Haddad - a member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) who was directly responsible for many of the PFLP's most prominent terror attacks, including a series of hijackings of Israeli EL AL planes in the 1960s and 70s. These included the hijacking of an EL AL plane flying from Rome to Tel Aviv on July 22, 1968 – the plane was forced to land in Algiers, where the 32 passengers were held as hostages for 39 days; the EL AL Flight 253 attack in Athens on December 26, 1968; the hijacking of 3 planes on September 6, 1970, which were forced to land, after which the passengers were released; and the hijacking of Air France Flight 139 on June 27,1976, whose passengers were freed in Israel’s Operation Entebbe.
Ahmed Yassin - Founder and former head of the terrorist organization Hamas. The Hamas movement is responsible for numerous terror attacks and the deaths of hundreds of Israeli civilians.
