PA daily: West “nurtur[ed] extremism in the Arab region” so it shares responsibility for Beirut suicide bombings

Op-ed by Dr. Osama Al-Fara in his regular column
Headline: “The ugly face of terror”
“A number of hours before the terror attacks that France experienced, the same terror struck in Al-Dahieh in the Lebanese capital Beirut, but received little and forced condemnation from the world, as if Beirut is not part of the free world, which seeks peace and security for its citizens… despite the fact that much of the evidence points to the involvement of the democratic West in harboring and nurturing extremism in the Arab region. Therefore, we the Arabs were burnt first and are still being burned by the fire of terror, the terror that was born out of the womb of creative anarchy, called for by the US for a long time, with no shame or worry. What is important, and perhaps it is the main thing that interests us, is that the free world, which claims to defend human rights, continues to be silent for decades regarding the government terror being carried out by Israel against the Palestinian people, and in many cases even gives the green light to escalate the intensity of its terror against the peaceful Palestinian civilians. What is clear is that the world still ignores the fact that is now obvious to all – that the lack of a solution to the Palestinian cause leads to greater extremism. This is especially so as part of the extremism in the Arab region is based on the injustice done to the Palestinian people… the Palestinian people, which suffers from the occupation state’s terror attacks and hears nothing from the world except for holding the victim responsible more than his hangman, cannot but identify with the victims of terror everywhere that it shows its ugly face. The Palestinian people, which is burnt daily by the fire of the occupation state’s terror, understands more than others the sorrow terror leaves in its wake, and hopes more than others for the reigning in of terror and the persecution of its perpetrators.”

“Creative Anarchy” or “constructive anarchy” are terms coined by former US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice in 2006 to describe the initial stage in the political reconstruction of former dictatorships as part of the Anglo-American roadmap for a “New Middle East.”
