Fatah official demonizes Israel as the source of terror in the world
Official PA TV, special broadcast on responses to US President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and transfer the US embassy to Jerusalem, hosting Fatah Revolutionary Council member Adnan Ghaith
Official PA TV host: “Mr. Adnan Ghaith, much was said at the international [UN] Security Council in its urgent meeting, and much of it pointed to how this [American decision] feeds the fanaticism, tension, and extremism in the region. Israel, as a terror state, is the highest form of terror. Today [Dec. 8, 2017] it gave its soldiers orders and wounded more than 1,200 of the members of our people and murdered three of our civilians with its cruel bullets (the Palestinians declared a “day of rage” and launched violent confrontations on this day –Ed.), and all of this while the American administration provides cover for the occupation. How do you read this escalation?”
Fatah Revolutionary Council member Adnan Ghaith: “Certainly, what the Israeli occupation is doing against our Palestinian people in general and in occupied Jerusalem is the height of terror. In other words, the one that murders innocents in the streets and roads, the one that closes the places of worships to the worshippers, the one that allows the settlers and the patrons of the settlers to burn children and attack homes and property, the one that does all this- is carrying out ethnic cleansing against the rightful inhabitants, the owners of the land – this is the height of terror. But let me say the truth – Israel, in other words the Israeli occupation government, would not dare to continue with this terror if not for the American cover. We have warned against this American bias, which has always leaned in favor of this occupation government. Think that today, when the position of the US supports this Israeli occupation, we therefore say to the US: ‘In the eyes of the Palestinian people and the eyes of our people in Jerusalem you have become partners of this occupation and its crimes, its terror, and its violence against our people and against the Palestinian people.’ If there is terror in the world, its foundation is the Israeli occupation government. The one that feeds ISIS and takes care of ISIS is this Israeli occupation, and the world must completely recognize that the one that is involved in this terror is the Israeli occupation, the height of terror in the world and the whole region is the Israeli occupation, and [it is] the one that gives its soldiers decisions that the ammunition needs to be ready to murder all who act and raise their voice against the terror and against the oppressor. This is the height of terror, violence, and harassment.”
US recognition of Jerusalem as capital of Israel - On Dec. 6, 2017, US President Donald Trump gave a speech formally recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and stating that he had instructed the State Department to begin preparations to transfer the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Trump concluded by stating that the US is still fully committed to the peace process in the Middle East. Following his speech, Trump signed the waiver to delay the transfer of the embassy, and apparently will continue to do so until preparations for the transfer have been completed.
