PA daily: Jewish groups, incl. US Senator, “invaded” the Al-Aqsa Mosque; PA Mufti falsely accuses Israel of setting 1969 arson

Headline: “46 extremists, including a member of the American Senate, invade the Al-Aqsa Mosque”
“Jewish extremist groups yesterday, Tuesday [Aug. 23, 2016], invaded the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque from the Mughrabi Gate, accompanied by heightened security from the occupation special police [forces].
The invasions took place in small consecutive groups, one of which included a Jewish (sic., Christian) member of the American Senate from the state of Utah (reference is to Senator Mike Lee –Ed.)… Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian Territories and preacher of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque Sheikh Muhammad Hussein… noted that this arbitrary decision (i.e., construction approval for the Beit Haliba museum overlooking the Western Wall) comes at a time when the Palestinians are marking the 47th anniversary of the Al-Aqsa Mosque arson crime of the occupation (sic., fire set by a mentally ill Australian tourist) on Aug. 21, 1969.”

The PA and its leaders consider all of the Temple Mount an integral part of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Therefore they view any presence of Jews on the mount as an “invasion.” It should be noted that Jews who visit the Temple Mount only enter some sections of the open areas, and do not enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque or the Dome of the Rock.

Michael Rohan – mentally ill Australian Christian who set fire to the Al-Aqsa Mosque in 1969. For years, the Palestinian Authority has falsely accused Israel of setting the fire.
