Abbas: “The reason for all the disasters that the region and the world are suffering from” is “the occupation”

Speech by Abbas at the celebration of the formulation of the Public Service Ethics Code

PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas:
“The international community is becoming more and more convinced that the occupation of the Palestinian state by Israel is the reason for all the disasters that the region and the world are suffering from, and that without a just solution to the Palestinian issue in accordance with the two-state solution - which is included in the Arab Peace Initiative - and the relevant resolutions of the [UN] Security Council, neither peace, nor security, nor stability will be achieved, and the region will remain exposed to very difficult possibilities, especially in light of the growth of the phenomenon of terror and extremism, which we condemn and are fighting against with all of our strength.”

Abbas-appointee was former aide to terrorist who murdered 125
Source: Donia Al-Watan (independent Palestinian news agency), Feb. 20, 2017
“Fatah Movement Supreme Leadership [Council in Gaza] member Yahya Rabah emphasized… in a special interview with [independent Palestinian news agency] Donia Al-Watan that the PA has gotten over the subject of [exiled Fatah leader Muhammad] Dahlan and considers it a thing of the past…
Regarding the appointment of Mahmoud Al-Aloul as Fatah Movement Deputy President (sic., Deputy Chairman), Rabah noted that this is a good choice, and [PA President Mahmoud] Abbas is interested in a man who will help him and not hinder him, and Al-Aloul has a great history within the movement, and he has respected standpoints as he was one of the aides of deceased Martyr (Shahid) Khalil Al-Wazir ‘Abu Jihad’ (i.e., former head of the PLO terror organization’s military wing), and added that he commands great respect from the Palestinian people and Fatah people and members.”

Abu Jihad (Khalil Al-Wazir) was a founder of Fatah and deputy to Yasser Arafat. He headed the PLO terror organization's military wing and also planned many deadly Fatah terror attacks in the 1960’s - 1980’s. These attacks, which killed a total of 125 Israelis, included the most lethal in Israeli history - the hijacking of a bus and killing of 37 civilians, 12 of them children.
Abbas spokesman: Annexing Ma’ale Adumim will "lead to a new stage that will be uncontrollable"

“Official Spokesman for the [PA] Presidency Nabil Abu Rudeina said that ‘Any Israeli decision regarding annexing the settlement of Ma’ale Adumim will be considered a grave and unacceptable escalation in our eyes.’
Abu Rudeina added: ‘This step will end all connections to any peace process, especially in light of the talk about transferring the American embassy to Jerusalem, and this step will lead to a new stage that will be uncontrollable.’
He continued: ‘Once again we warn against any steps that contradict the decisions of the international bodies, and particularly the latest [UN] Security Council Resolution [2334] that considered the settlement in all of the territories occupied in 1967, including East Jerusalem, as illegal.’ He noted that if Israel crosses this red line, all of the red lines will go down the drain.”

The Al-Azhar institutes are schools that prepare students for studies at the Al-Azhar University, which was established in Gaza by a decree of Yasser Arafat in 1991. The institutes follow the curriculum of the Al-Azhar Institute in Egypt rather than the PA curriculum. Al-Azhar University’s website describes it as independent, but the PA has some control as shown by the fact that PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas appointed Imad Hamato as dean of the institutes.

PMW has documented many antisemitic statements by Hamato. Click link to bulletin (above) for details
PA daily: Abbas decries Israel's "daily attacks against the sites that are holy to Islam and Christianity"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Sept. 22, 2016
Headline: “The president delivers the pain and hope of our people to the world at the UN”
“[PA] President Mahmoud Abbas two days ago [Sept. 20, 2016] met with Foreign Relations Commissioner of the European Union Federica Mogherini in New York, and updated her about the latest developments in the situation in the Palestinian territories in the shadow of the continuation of the Israeli escalation in the field of settlement and the daily attacks against the sites that are holy to Islam and Christianity.”

The Palestinians consider any presence of Jews/Israelis at sites they consider holy to be an attack on the site.
Abbas retracts water poisoning libel, "emphasizes that he did not intend to harm Judaism or its believers in general... [but] condemns the illegal actions and steps of [Israeli] and its settlers against the Palestinian people"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, June 25, 2016
Headline: "[PA] President [Mahmoud Abbas]: Palestine is the cradle of the three monotheistic religions, and we are not among those who harm any one of them"
"[PA] President Mahmoud Abbas rejected the Israeli accusations and declarations directed against him and against the Palestinian people, according to which he harmed Judaism, and condemned accusations against him of Antisemitism.
After it became clear that the reports that were published in many media outlets about the declarations of a rabbi regarding the poisoning of Palestinian wells were baseless, President Abbas - out of the deep respect he has for all religions, including Judaism - emphasizes that he did not intend to harm Judaism or its believers in general. However, at the same time he condemns the illegal actions and steps of the occupation authorities (i.e., Israel) and its settlers against the Palestinian people, including the incitement against him and against his rights."

Official PA TV, special broadcast, PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas’ speech to the EU Parliament

PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas: “There is an issue that the Israelis are bringing up, and that is the issue of incitement. Despite the fact that the Israeli incitement does not stop, and the actions of the occupation (i.e., Israel) and the settlers do not stop… Just a week ago, some rabbis rose up in Israel and explicitly announced and demanded of their government that it poison the water in order to kill the Palestinians. Is this not clear incitement? Is this not clear incitement, whose goal is to carry out a mass murder of Palestinians? We are against incitement!”

The libel that rabbis called to poison the Palestinians’ water, which had been voiced by the PA Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the PLO in the days prior to Abbas’ speech, did not appear in the written version of Abbas’ speech, which was publicized in the official PA daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, June 24, 2016. Apparently Abbas decided to add it in at the last moment.
Abbas' advisor: Jews “are thieves who stole the land… we have been here for 5,000 years”
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, June 3, 2016

Mahmoud Abbas' advisor on Religious and Islamic Affairs, Mahmoud Al-Habbash: "They [the Jews] claim that there was a Temple here. Those are unfounded claims, myths, and rumors. However, the problem between us and them is not a problem of religious or historical narrative. The problem is that they are thieves. The problem is that they are thieves who stole the land, and who want to steal the history, but history cannot change and cannot be falsified. The facts bear witness to it. We have been here for the last 5,000 years, and have not left this land. We have not left this land. Our forefathers are the monotheist Canaanites and Jebusites. They are the ones who built Jerusalem, before Abraham was even here."

There never was an ancient Palestinian-Arab nation. Arabs first arrived in the land of Israel/Judea with the Muslim invasion in 637 CE. Arabs first identified themselves as "Palestinians" in the 20th century, after the creation of the State of Israel. Claiming a 5,000 year old Palestinian nation is a historical lie.

He clarified: ‘Everyone is saying now that this people needs its own state in the June 4 [1967] borders, with Jerusalem as its capital, but the occupation continues to act arrogantly, like all occupiers who try to ignore this fact. They are doomed as the racist regime in South Africa was doomed, and as the racist regime in Rhodesia - now Zimbabwe - was doomed… so are the tyrannical aggressors in our land doomed, who do not know what morals are, and who claim that their weapon is pure, while it is filthy with our blood. They talk about how they are the chosen people of Allah, and this is the personification of racism – the chosen people of Allah. [They talk] about the purity of their weapon, while it kills our children at checkpoints under one pretext or another. The occupiers are always doomed to disappear, and this is a fact that we must never forget.”

PA governor representing Abbas: Israel “massacres” Palestinians and “kills any Palestinian based on suspicion alone”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Mar. 30, 2016
Headline: “Ramallah: The Political and National Orientation Authority marked Land Day”
“The Political and National Orientation Authority marked the 40th anniversary of the eternal Land Day yesterday [March 29, 2016] in a ceremony it held in Ramallah.
Present at the ceremony were District Governor of Ramallah and El-Bireh Laila Ghannam, as representative of [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas, Official Spokesman of the PA Security Forces Adnan Al-Damiri, and the head of the Committee of Arab Monitoring in the 1948 Territories (i.e., Israel), Muhammad Barakeh.
Ghannam said in a speech she gave on behalf of President Mahmoud Abbas: ‘The occupation insists on carrying out many massacres against our people, and there is a decision to kill any Palestinian based on suspicion alone, while the world maintains its silence. Therefore, we must act to expose the occupation’s crimes.’ …
Barakeh said: ‘All the acts of struggle being carried out by our people are only intended to achieve freedom and honor and the establishment of a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.’ … Likewise, he noted that the occupation forces are destroying villages in the 1948 territories (i.e., Israel) in order to expel their residents and establish settlement blocs.”

Land Day – an annual commemoration of the general strike and demonstrations organized by Israeli Arab residents of the Galilee on March 30, 1976 to protest the Israeli government's decision to expropriate land in the Galilee for security and settlement purposes, which it later implemented. During the protests, demonstrators burnt tires, blocked roads, and threw rocks and firebombs. Six demonstrators were shot and killed by the Israeli army and police. Israeli Arabs and Palestinians consider Land Day a national day.
Abbas: Terror wave is a "peaceful" response to Israel's "defiling" the "holy sites" and its "killing" of Palestinians
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Mar. 3, 2016
Headline: “The President: We object to the intervention of an external factor in internal Palestinian affairs”
“The Fatah Revolutionary Council opened its 16th session yesterday evening [March 2, 2016] in the presence of [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas and the members of the Fatah Central Committee… Abbas noted that the peaceful popular uprising is in response to the actions of the occupation, its disregard of all signed agreements and lack of adherence to their implementation, the fact that it has continued to defile the Islamic and Christian holy sites, the policy of arrests, the demolitions (i.e., of houses of terrorists), the killing, the expulsion, the closure, and the siege.”

What Abbas referred to as “peaceful popular uprising” is in fact a wave of Palestinian terror attacks which at the time of Abbas’ speech had included:
79 shooting attacks, 203 knifings, and 39 car ramming attacks, in which 33 Israelis were murdered and 387 wounded.

The terms "all means," "peaceful uprising,” and “popular uprising" are ‎often used by PA leaders to refer to events that include violence and deadly terror ‎against Israeli civilians such as rock-throwing, stabbings and even shootings.

Israel carries out demolitions of terrorists' houses. According to the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, "Demolition orders are issued only against the residences of terrorists who commit the most serious offenses" and it is "an act of deterrence meant to discourage Palestinians from carrying out future terror attacks so as to minimize their number.” (MFA website)

On his way to several meetings with Dutch parliamentarians last week, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and his entourage passed 300 demonstrators flying Israeli flags.
Like the Israeli government, the protesters, who convened outside at the urging of Dutch Jewish and Christian pro-Israel groups, accuse Abbas and his government of supporting deadly attacks against Jews... At the CIDI meeting [the Center for Information and Documentation on Israel, the Dutch Jewish community's main pro-Israel lobby and watchdog on anti-Semitism], the delegation patiently listened to Abbas's complaints about Netanyahu. When he was finished, Joep de Geus, the 22-year-old chairman of CIDI's youth department, read to him a quote [exposed by PMW] from Fatah Central Committee member Jamal Muhaisen who, on October 7, said the murder of a settler couple the previous week in front of their children was a case of 'one fulfilling his national duty voluntarily, as best as one can.'
Looking at Abbas, de Geus asked: 'Your excellency, do we really need a trilateral committee to tell us whether this is incitement?'
'We the Palestinians are not perfect,' Abbas replied, 'but these things need to be discussed as a whole.'"

PA presidency accuses Israel of “systematic incitement against the PA and its institutions”
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Oct. 16, 2015
Headline: “The presidency demanded to stop the Israeli official inciting declarations”
“The [PA] presidency demanded yesterday [Oct. 15, 2015] that Israel stops its daily and official inciting declarations, the most recent of which were Israeli Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked’s declaration, and her steps to close down the Palestine television channel [PA TV]. The presidency stated yesterday in an announcement: ‘We call on the Israeli government to stop whatever fans the flames of violence and incitement, as it creates an atmosphere leading to increased tension.’ Official spokesman of the [PA] Palestine Broadcasting Corporation Majed Sa’id, stated that Shaked’s declarations come as part of the systematic incitement against the Palestinian Authority and its institutions. Sa’id said that declarations of this kind are meant to ‘add fuel to the flames,’ and are influenced by the Israeli government‘s aggressive behavior towards our people.”

Israeli Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked told Israel Radio on Oct. 15, 2015, that due to the ongoing Palestinian incitement against Israel, the official Palestinian television channel, PA TV, should be closed down. PMW has documented that PA TV serves as a platform for numerous expressions of incitement, encouraging hatred of Israelis and Jews, promoting violence and glorifying terrorists.

Abbas in speech in Moscow condemns "systematic aggression against the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque", claims the Mosque "belongs to Muslims only"

"President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas called on the international community to provide protection to the holy places of Christianity and Islam in Jerusalem and ensure the freedom of religion, as it existed before the Israeli occupation of Jerusalem in 1967, especially at the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
His honor stated during his speech today, Wednesday, [Sept. 23, 2015], at the inauguration of the Moscow Cathedral Mosque in the presence of President of Russia Vladimir Putin and President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoan, together with Arab and Islamic delegations and international personalities: 'The systematic aggression against the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, the first direction of prayer and the third holiest [Islamic] sanctuary, in occupied East Jerusalem, the capital of the State of Palestine, cannot serve peace, coexistence and tolerance between the religions and nations. It provides an additional excuse for extremists around the world who use religions in their terror and their aggression against humanity.'
His honor emphasized that the Al-Aqsa Mosque belongs to Muslims only, and it is the right of every Muslim in the world to visit it and hold religious ceremonies in its plaza. In addition, he expressed his strong opposition to any measure taken by the occupation, aimed at limiting Muslims' access to it and preventing them from holding their ceremonies freely inside it."

Abbas opposes Jewish state because it justifies “extremist organization such as ISIS”

Headline: “A bomb in the President’s speech”
“President Mahmoud Abbas sincerely revealed the American, Arab and Islamic pressures that led him to consider resignation, and expressed his ‘strong objection to the idea of the “Jewish State,” since it serves as justification for the religious wars in the middle east, and extremist organizations such as ISIS,’ he said… Regarding his upcoming visit to the UN, the president declared that he would ‘drop a bomb’ at the end of his speech, which he refused to disclose, and noted that he would speak about ‘Oslo and the Israeli violations reflected in the Israeli Supreme Court’s resolutions to allow the demolition of Palestinian houses in areas A and B, which are supposed to be under the PA’s administrative control.’
Regarding Jerusalem’s explosive situation, Abbas said that ‘Israel is implementing a division according to times at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and maybe even according to areas, between Jews and Muslims.’ He emphasized that ‘this division according to times and areas will absolutely not be accepted,’ and that ‘Jerusalem is a red line, and we will not allow [anyone] to harm it,’ in his words. Abbas attacked the notion of the ‘Jewish State’ saying: ‘If Israel wants to be a Jewish state, there will be justification for ISIS and other similar organizations to establish an Islamic State in Syria, Gaza, Egypt, etc.’”

Abbas’ Advisor: Israel seeks to “eradicate” Palestinian identity and create “an illegal Jewish entity”
Source: WAFA news agency, Nov. 23, 2014
“Mahmoud Al-Habbash, the Supreme Shari’ah Judge and Mahmoud Abbas’ Advisor on Religious and Islamic Affairs, said that Arabs and Muslims around the globe, especially those with foreign citizenship, must go to the Al-Aqsa Mosque and come together to Jerusalem to support the resolve of its residents. During a political forum held at the embassy of the State of Palestine in Algeria, Al-Habbash said: ‘Our people is now in the last stage of a war of existence and self-coercion against the occupation, which is seeking in any way possible to eradicate our identity, force a Caesarian birth of a Jewish entity and clone an illegal entity at our expense.’… In addition, he emphasized that the occupation – which thinks it has succeeded in winning the geographic war with [its] racist fences and roadblocks and that it will have the last word in the fairy tale of Jewish Jerusalem by taking over the Al-Aqsa Mosque – must be opposed.”
Abbas: Proposed law allowing Jews to pray on Temple Mount will lead “the region and the world into a destructive religious war”
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Nov. 11, 2014
Official PA TV broadcast a repeat of PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas’ speech on the 10th anniversary of Yasser Arafat’s death:
PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas: “The Israeli leadership is making a big mistake if it thinks history is reversible and that they can establish facts on the ground and divide the Al-Aqsa [Mosque] according to place and time, as they did in the past at the Ibrahimi Mosque (i.e., Cave of the Patriarchs) in Hebron – a step they will yet retract. With their actions, they are leading the region and the world into a destructive religious war. Neither the Muslim nor the Christian world will ever accept the Israeli claims that Jerusalem belongs to them. No one, [neither] Muslims nor Christians, will accept that Jerusalem be [anything] but the capital of the State of Palestine, and we will accept no other claims, whatever they may be. Jerusalem is our capital, and we will not give it up. Jerusalem, which was conquered in 1967, is our Jerusalem and our capital, and we will protect it and defend its holy places. We are all Murabitin (i.e., those who carry out Ribat, religious conflict/war over land claimed to be Islamic) along with the children of Jerusalem.”

Note: The physical division and division according to time refers to a proposed law (May 2013) being reviewed in Israeli Parliament that would allow for both Jews and Muslims to pray on the Temple Mount. The law seeks to implement separate prayer times for Muslims and Jews at the site.

Abbas’ advisor “warns” Israel may drag Muslims all over world into “religious war”
Source: Awdah independent Palestinian TV channel, Nov. 6, 2014
Mahmoud Al-Habbash, the Supreme Shari’ah Judge and Mahmoud Abbas’ Advisor on Religious and Islamic Affairs:
“Today, the protection and defense of Al-Aqsa, the efforts and the Jihad – Jihad by means of the body and Jihad by means of supply – for Al-Aqsa are a personal religious obligation [Arabic: fard ayn] for every Muslim man and woman from one end of the land to the other…We see a crazy and insane war being waged against the holiest place for the Muslims in Palestine: the Al-Aqsa Mosque… If this escalation continues – and we have warned, the President [Mahmoud Abbas] has warned of this [possibility] – it may lead to a religious war.... A religious war – to put it simply, that is – every Israeli would become a target for every Muslim from America to Japan, everywhere in the world, from all parts of the world. Every Muslim will feel that his religion and faith are being targeted, and that one of his holy places – the most important of his holy places – is being targeted. By whom? By these Israelis. These Israelis are [our] enemies and have become targets, because they are Israelis, for no other reason. The world’s Arabs and Muslims are the ones who will engage in direct confrontation [with Israel] on the material, operational and practical [level]. That is, you will be at war with a billion and a half Muslims…And this religious war will not be confined to Palestine. As I said, it may well [spread] to America, to Washington itself, to Europe, Asia, Africa. The fire of this war will reach every place in the world...”

Abbas to Pope: "Israel is taking systematic action aimed at changing [Jerusalem's] identity and character and at harassing its Palestinian Christian and Muslim residents"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, May 26, 2014
Excerpt from [PA] Chairman Mahmoud Abbas' speech at the press conference with Pope Francis
“We informed His Holiness of the results of the negotiations and the obstacles that lie in their path, foremost among which are the [Israeli] settlements, the daily attacks on the houses of worship – churches and mosques – and the confinement of thousands of Palestinian prisoners who are longing for freedom in the Israeli prisons. For over 30 days now, many of them have been on a hunger strike because of the bad treatment [they receive] and the fact that they are being detained without sentences, [in] what is known as administrative detention. We also informed His Holiness of the tragic situation in East Jerusalem, the capital of our state that has been occupied since 1967, where Israel is taking systematic action aimed at changing its [Jerusalem’s] identity and character and at harassing its Palestinian Christian and Muslim residents, in order to induce them to emigrate and to prevent believers outside it from praying at its houses of worship…
These Israeli actions have led to the emigration of many of our Christian and Muslim brethren; we are seeing to it that they remain rooted in their land, the fatherland.”

Abbas: Israel is a “racist segregationist regime, an apartheid regime”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Jan. 28, 2013
PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas addressing the 20th African Union Summit in Addis Ababa, January 2013:
“The coalition makeup in Israel is likely to change, but the demands of peace won’t change. Beginning with a settlement freeze and releasing the prisoners, solving all final-status issues including Jerusalem and the refugees, and culminating with the withdrawal of Israeli forces to the June 4, 1967 borders. Also, [Israel] allows settlers to harm religious sites and destroy crops. It provides them (the settlers) with their own roads, renames our cities and villages, impounds our tax revenue – all this in addition to innumerable Israeli violations of international law and the principles of the UN charter, and of UN Security Council and General Assembly resolutions…
All these actions of the occupation are nothing other than elements of a racist segregationist regime, an apartheid regime that is forcibly enforced by the Israeli occupation under different names on occupied Palestinian land. As you all opposed apartheid rule on your own continent and defeated it never to return, we in Palestine oppose Israeli apartheid, that we too are determined to defeat.”

Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Nov. 19, 2012
On Nov. 14, 2012, Israel launched an aerial offensive in the Gaza Strip called Operation Pillar of Defense, with the aim of crippling the terrorist infrastructure in Gaza and protecting Israeli civilians from Hamas rocket fire. Excerpt from Abbas' speech at the PA leadership's meeting on Nov. 18, 2012:
"Israel continues its aggression for the fifth day in a row and threatens [to enter] a new phase of escalation of its military operation, something that will cause more destruction and bloodshed, and will increase the threat against the security and stability of the whole region... Through its aggressive and unfair war against our people in [the] Gaza [Strip], Israel is trying to strengthen the rift [between Fatah and Hamas] and deepen the separation between the two parts of the Palestinian homeland and soil. The Palestinian response to this aggression [should] first and foremost [be] to hurry and leave behind [us] the dark rift and restore the national unity... Besides the challenge of the aggression against Gaza, today the Palestinian people is facing additional challenges that are no less dangerous: the Judaization of Jerusalem, the expansion of the settlements and the continuous Israeli threats against the PLO in response to our UN petition [for non-member status]. Today we are all the more in need of Palestinian unity to face these challenges."

Abbas: Israel killed "innocent people who were unarmed" in Gaza flotilla confrontation
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, June 27, 2010
Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas:
"We spoke with [US envoy] Mitchell about an international investigation committee, and we continue to insist on the implementation of what the UN Secretary General said. We demand neither more nor less than the establishment of a neutral international committee which will investigate the assault and the killing of innocent people who, it has been shown, were unarmed, in international waters."
Abbas: Gaza flotilla participants only sought to "convey aid;" Israeli "attack" was a "great crime"
Source: Al-Ayyam, June 17, 2010
Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas:
“Israel has carried out a great crime which the entire world found intolerable: It attacked the ships in international waters, and this was a mistake and a crime. Also, it attacked ships which held nothing but people who wanted to convey aid to besieged Gaza.”
Abbas accuses Israel of committing "state terrorism" in Gaza flotilla confrontation
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, June 3, 2010
Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas at the Palestine Investment Conference in Bethlehem:
"This is not the first time that Arab, Islamic and world blood has been mingled with Palestinian blood in the Palestinian people's long journey of struggle, continuing over the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century. The Freedom Flotilla is not the first serious attempt to support the Palestinian people… Everyone who took part in the Freedom Flotilla will henceforth hold Palestinian citizenship, because this was an honorable act in which the whole world participated… Over the last few days our people have been subjected to state terrorism, with Israel attacking the Freedom Flotilla. Our people, and the entire world, are currently facing this terror and refuse to let it continue."
Mahmoud Abbas demonizes Israel
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, May 31, 2010
On May 30, a flotilla of ships set out to break Israel’s blockade of Gaza. Participants were filmed on board chanting Islamic battle cries that invoked the killing of Jews, and expressing desire to seek Martyrdom. The next day, the Israeli army boarded the flotilla and was met with a well-coordinated attack, leading to the death of 9 flotilla participants. The following is PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas’s comments after the confrontation:

Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, in a telephone interview from Amman with PA TV (Fatah):
Host:
"Mr. President [Abbas], this decision was made by the occupation's [Israel's] Minister of the Army, already yesterday. What is the significanceof this decision?"
Abbas: "The significance is that this decision was made in advance. They [Israel] wanted to create a confrontation. They did not want to allow [the ships into Gaza], but were determined from the outset to create a confrontation. They had the opportunity yesterday to relate to these people peacefully, because those who came to Gaza are civilians, peace-seeking people, who did not come to attack. They did not come with weapons or with an army. They came with humanitarian aid. Therefore, it was a decision made in advance, premeditated and with determination to kill and to create a confrontation with these people, and to take them all to ports in Israel. Israel always ignores all international norms, all international laws, all humanitarian laws. [Israel] doesn't care about anything."

Abbas libel: "Israel wants Jewish-only Jerusalem"
Source: Ma’an, independent Palestinian news agency, July 20, 2009
PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas:
"Abbas: Israel wants Jewish-only Jerusalem... Israel intends to eliminate Jerusalem's Islamic and Christian character, President Mahmoud Abbas insisted in a speech in the central West Bank on Sunday evening... 'Israeli excavations across the holy city endanger its historical buildings and holy places, especially the Al-Aqsa Mosque,' Abbas said in Bethlehem."
Abbas: Story of 6 million cremated Jews is propaganda
Source: The Other Side: the Secret Relationship Between Nazism and Zionism, by Mahmoud Abbas, Feb. 15, 1984
PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas’s thesis, "The Other Side: The Secret Relations between Nazism and the Leadership of the Zionist Movement" (Translation by Wiesenthal Center):
"Having more victims meant greater rights and stronger privilege to join the negotiation table for dividing the spoils of war once it was over. However, since Zionism was not a fighting partner -- suffering victims in a battle -- it had no escape but to offer up human beings, under any name, to raise the number of victims, which they could then boast of at the moment of accounting…
It seems that the interest of the Zionist movement...is to inflate this figure so that their gains will be greater. This led them to emphasize this figure in order to gain the solidarity of international public opinion with Zionism. Many scholars have debated the figure of six million and reached stunning conclusions -- fixing the number of Jewish victims at only a few hundred thousand."

Mahmoud Abbas's thesis: Zionists were Nazi allies
Source: The Other Side: the Secret Relationship Between Nazism and Zionism, by Mahmoud Abbas, Feb. 15, 1984
PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas’s thesis, "The Other Side: The Secret Relations between Nazism and the Leadership of the Zionist Movement" (Translation by Wiesenthal Center):
"A partnership was established between Hitler's Nazis and the leadership of the Zionist movement... [the Zionists] gave permission to every racist in the world, led by Hitler and the Nazis, to treat Jews as they wish, so long as it guarantees immigration to Palestine."
