Letter from imprisoned terrorist Marwan Barghouti read to all Palestinian students
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Apr. 18, 2017
“The [PA] Ministry of Education and Higher Education organized a mass support rally [for the prisoners] in the ministry plaza, in which [PA] Minister [of Education] Dr. Sabri Saidam, Deputy Minister [of Education] Dr. Basri Saleh, the minister’s aides, and all of the ministry employees participated.
In this context, Saidam emphasized the education system’s standing by the side of the heroic prisoners and its support for them in the battle that they are waging against the occupation in order to defend their dignity and achieve all of their rights. He added: ‘Leadership member Marwan Barghouti (i.e., terrorist who orchestrated three shooting attacks in which 5 were murdered) and all of the prisoners are emphasizing that we are one people that refuses to be broken, and which has grown accustomed to not breaking.’ ... Saleh read leadership member Marwan Barghouti’s speech (i.e., letter) addressed to the school students, and emphasized the loyalty of the education system, in all of its parts, to the prisoners and its standing by their side in this heroic battle... Likewise, the morning assembly in all of the schools included many sections of support for the prisoners, including reading leadership member prisoner Marwan Barghouti’s letter addressed to the school students.”

Full text of letter sent by imprisoned terrorist Marwan Barghouti to Palestinian students
Source: Israeli Arab website, Arab 48, Apr. 17, 2017
Headline: "From Barghouti to the students of Palestine: 'Knowledge is your weapon to liberate the homeland'"
"Fatah Movement Central Committee member and member of the PA Parliament (Legislative Council) prisoner Marwan Barghouti (i.e., terrorist who orchestrated three shooting attacks in which 5 were murdered), ... who is serving 5 life sentences, sent a letter from within the prison to all the young people of Palestine, and to the students in particular, in which it is stated: 'I write this letter to you from my small cell, which is small for the great prisoner and the free man. However, the chains that bind the body cannot bind the willpower, as the soul is nurtured by the love of the land of Palestine and its people.' ...
"These colonialists wanted the prison to constitute a graveyard for the fighters, but the prisoners, with their resolve and willpower, have stood against the hangman and the jailor and turned the prison into a station for renewing the strength, strengthening of the [sense of] belonging, and deepening of the experience...
In order to be creative in resisting the colonialist, we must be creative in our studies, education, and culture. I say to you - I was arrested for the first time when I was in high school, I took the matriculation exams in prison, and continued on the path of study and obtained a bachelor's degree, master's degree, and doctorate. This was despite being imprisoned for more than 23 years, expelled for seven years, and subjected to pursuit and assassination attempts. I say this to you in order to emphasize to you that the path of studies and the national path go side by side.'"

Girl’s poem idealizes Martyrdom, but PA TV host says “We need to live for Palestine”

Official PA TV program The Best Home

Girl:
"[Jerusalem] will yet return as long as on its land a Martyr dies each day
O mother, do not cry, as your son was not born to live
He was born to die as a Martyr, and thus defeat the occupiers
Oh! Palestine Oh! My beloved
You cry over your children, your women, your Martyrs
But no! We will not fall and will not kneel!
We will live for you, for the words: 'Palestine will be free'
We will die and not kneel
If our death is for you, Palestine, we will not hold back
Our hunger for death is like our hunger for bread
The death for you, Palestine, is admirable
Palestine, I will redeem you with my spirit, my money, my family, and all of my belongings
I will live and I will die while repeating the words: 'Palestine will be free'."
PA TV host: "Bravo! You are very talented, but I say again to all our friends: We need to live for Palestine. We need to love life and cling to it, because Palestine is beautiful and it will be even more beautiful with our presence in it. Our struggle must be in a nice manner by continuing to grow and thinking about our future and living in hope, because the freedom of Palestine will be realized through us, through our thoughts and our creativity."

During his meeting with 80 students and graduates, he said that the situation in Palestine is subjected to difficulties every day, but that every day there are [also] achievements. He added that every day there are Martyrs (Shahids) and children who carry knives, 'children who carry knives on their own incentive, and do not believe anyone who says there are bodies that are pushing them and inciting them; no, they have lost hope and therefore they go out with knives to carry out stabbing operations.'

Mahmoud Abbas… called for popular resistance by peaceful means, ‘as our hands are still outstretched to peace - but there is no peace without a state with East Jerusalem as its capital, and the right of return cannot be forgotten. “Where is the popular uprising? Is this popular uprising? Is this resistance? IS this popular resistance?”
Donia Al-Watan interviewer: “In what direction are we heading?”
Fatah Central Committee member and Abbas’ advisor Sultan Abu Al-Einein: “These are acts of resistance [by] individuals. I kiss the hands of these children’s (i.e., terrorists who carried out attacks against Israel) families. However, can we say that this is resistance and that we have resistance? This is not resistance, not the resistance that we want. We want resistance that would hurt the occupation and demand of it a [heavy] price. When the resistance hurts the occupation and makes it pay [dearly], and the occupation pays a heavy price for its presence on Palestinian land, this will be the resistance we seek. As long as the resistance does not hurt and cost the occupation, it is not resistance. When the resistance hurts the Israeli enemy, it will be able to call itself resistance and take pride in it.”

Headline: "Do not take part in the execution of our children by Israel!"
Op-ed by Muwaffaq Matar, Fatah Revolutionary Committee member and regular columnist for the official PA daily
“The alignment of the Israeli occupation, the ISIS of the Jewish settlers, and the terror of the occupation state are the first and last to be responsible for the fact that our men, women, young, and children of both sexes are rushing to the battle field and toward the inevitable end. However, responsibility also rests with the political parties, factions, and local and Arab partisan media outlets, which diminish the terror and crimes of the occupation’s officers, soldiers, and settlers, ‘Israel’s ISIS’, and at the same time magnify the image of the Palestinian victim… If the young of my land think, they will discover the truth about those who are riding the wave. If they look deeply into the situation in the Arab world, they will see how the young always have served only as fuel and steps on the ladder for the rising of ‘professional politicians.’… Defending our children and young is a limitless national responsibility, and it should not be written in history that we sat there and looked at them bleeding until they died as Martyrs (Shahids), and then the factions competed among themselves to see who would succeed in adopting them [as theirs], and posters were printed and we walked in their funeral processions, and finally returned to our homes, concerned about the well-being of our children and sons, thinking and examining thousands of ways to protect them and distance them from the occupiers and settlers’ blood-lust cycle.”

The term "so what" is a reference to a hashtag appearing on Palestinian social media as a slogan used to encourage Palestinians to continue rioting, throwing rocks and using violence against Israelis. "#so_what" is a Palestinian response that makes light of Israel's alleged crimes, showing that Palestinians don't care. It also implies that no matter what Israel does, the Palestinians will continue not to care, and they will continue to riot, throw rocks, carry out stabbing attacks etc. The words refer to a video that went viral, showing an elderly Palestinian man arguing with Israeli soldiers. A soldier points to rioting Palestinians, saying: "They're throwing rocks at us." The old man replies: "So what, let them throw rocks."

PLO: Palestinian children who throw rocks are “fulfilling their national duty”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Nov. 4, 2015
“The [PLO] Commission of Prisoners [and Released Prisoners'] Affairs emphasized in a notice it published yesterday [Nov. 3, 2015] afternoon that the law for stricter punishment of Palestinian children that was approved in the Israeli Parliament (Knesset) is part of a series of racist, vengeful laws… The Commission noted that what was approved by the [Israeli] Parliament regarding the increase of the punishment of minors accused of rock-throwing to 10 years, and [the establishment of] a minimum punishment of two years, is in contradiction with all international conventions and treaties, which speak clearly of the need to respect children’s rights, and treat them in a special manner. The Commission clarified that the goal of the series of laws enacted by the occupation government and the leaders of its gangs – politicians and military people alike – is to kill the Palestinian childhood, to deter children from fulfilling their national duty toward their land and holy sites, and to discourage them from resisting this occupier.”

“The hero of the famous Ein Arik operation (i.e., terror attack), the heroic Martyr (Shahid) prisoner Shadi Said Al-Saaideh… Shadi is a wonderful example for the children of Palestine, its youth and heroes of Palestine. He was born from the womb of Palestinian suffering on March 8, 1981 in a diaspora refugee camp in Jordan, and returned to the Gaza Strip after the signing of the Oslo Accords… With the start of the Al-Aqsa Intifada (i.e., the PA terror campaign 2000-2005) he joined Fatah’s Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades.
The famous Ein Arik operation:
On February 19, 2002, he [Al-Saaideh] drew his weapon in defense of his homeland and his nation. He went towards the Ein Arik military checkpoint, near the village of Ein Arik, west of Ramallah, together with one of his comrades in the Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades, and carried out a glorious operation (i.e., terror attack) which will continue to shine in the books of the resistance and the self-sacrificing operations (Fida'i).
Shadi, the hero of the famous Ein Arik operation – that extraordinary self-sacrificing operation which shocked the Israeli security establishment and rocked the occupation to its very foundations. For he shot at Israeli soldiers gathered at the Ein Arik military checkpoint, killing 8 soldiers and wounding others, before he and his friend succeeded in retreating.”

“Fatah’s Shabiba [youth] movement in the West Bank published a press release in response to the declarations made by the extreme right-wing Prime Minister of the occupation, Benjamin Netanyahu, demanding that President Mahmoud Abbas [publicly] declare his recognition of Israel as a Jewish state at Birzeit University…
Fatah’s Shabiba said that any solution failing to realize the aspirations of our people – a free and independent homeland without the occupation and its herds of settlers; the right of return for refugees according to the decisions of the international institutions and [UN] resolution 194; freedom for our prisoners and the right of our people to full sovereignty over its land and natural resources –would be completely unacceptable. It [Fatah’s Shabiba] called on the international community to take concrete and effective steps to strengthen and implement the decisions regarding the boycott of the occupation and the imposition of sanctions on it. In addition, it emphasized that [our people] should draw inspiration from the experience of South Africa in this area…
Fatah’s Shabiba concluded its message by underscoring its intention to continue the popular resistance in all arenas and its preparedness for all options. It [the movement] called the third generation of Palestinians, after the generation of the grandfathers and fathers, the generation of adherence to principles and resistance.”

Schoolgirls sing slogan about massacre of Jews
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Mar. 6, 2014
Official PA TV program In a Fighter’s Home showed images of a procession of schoolgirls on their way to Mutaz Washaha’s mourning tent. The girls are shown chanting loudly, “[Remember] Khaibar, Khaibar, oh Jews! The army of Muhammad will return!”
During the program, Washaha was repeatedly referred to as a “hero.”

Note: Mutaz Washaha was a member of the military wing of the National Front for the Liberation of Palestine. He was released after serving time in an Israeli prison for carrying out shooting attacks. He was killed on Feb. 27, 2014 by an Israel security force that had been sent to arrest him on suspicions of terrorist activity. After Washaha had barricaded himself in a building and refused to give himself up, the forces fired a missile at the building, stormed it, and found Washaha’s body.
Khaibar is the name of the last Jewish village defeated by Muhammad's army in 628. Many Jews were killed in the battle, which marked the end of the Jewish presence in Arabia. There are Muslims who see this event as a precursor to future wars against Jews. At extremist gatherings and rallies, this slogan is often chanted as a threat to Jews, implying that they should expect to be defeated and massacred again by Muslims.

Secretary-General of Fatah’s Shabiba youth movement Hassan Faraj: “We disagree with the leadership somewhat on the issue of peaceful popular resistance. It’s our right, the [right of the] Palestinian people under occupation, to resist in all forms and ways. Perhaps, non-peaceful popular resistance is suitable for this stage. All our resistance is peaceful and in the end, we’re protecting ourselves. All international laws guarantee our [right] to resist with all means and ways. Hamas promotes class for high school students teaching military-type training
Source: Al-Jadeed TV-Lebanon, Nov. 24, 2013
Al-Jadeed TV narrator: “The Abu Dhar Al-Ghifari High School bell rings for the valor class. Valor class is the name given by the [Hamas] Ministry of Education for this new subject of study that was added to high school activities. The program includes physical training and learning methods of self-defense, methods of civil defense and semi-military skills.”
Abu Dhar Al-Ghifari High School principal, Khaled Hashish: “This is physical training that is akin to military training but has nothing to do with the army. Our schools are not associated with the army even if this training exists, [training] which teaches the youth to be strong, noble of spirit, work hard and be active.”
Al-Jadeed TV narrator: “The Ministry of Education of the Hamas Movement says this program started during President Yasser Arafat’s time but was not implemented due to Israeli opposition. This is the second year of the implementation of the program that started out as an elective [class] and became mandatory.”
Al-Jadeed TV reporter or narrator: “The valor class program, which has become a daily activity for all students in boys’ high schools, is carried out with coordination between the [Hamas] Ministry of Education and the Ministry of the Interior. According to them, its purpose is to vent the negative energy that builds up in these youth because of the violence that surrounds them... Those in charge of the program deny they are attempting to turn the schools into military [schools] as circulated by Western and Israeli media. The matter is much simpler and the weapons with which the students train is merely made of wood.”

Girl recites poem on PA TV: "To war that will… destroy the Zionist's soul"
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Jan. 29, 2013
"I am a Palestinian, my name is Palestinian
I've etched my name on all the town squares
In letters that stand out over the placards
The letters of my name pursue me, enliven me, nourish me,
They enflame my spirit and beat in my veins...
Saladin (Muslim conqueror of Jerusalem), calls to me from the depths of my heart
All my Arabness calls me to vengeance and liberation
My flag that was folded in Hattin (Saladin battle in 1187)
The person who summons to prayer in the Al-Aqsa [Mosque] calls to us: "Save me"
Thousands of prisoners and thousands who are jailed
call to this great nation and call to millions
They say: To Jerusalem, the [first] direction of prayer [in Islam]
To war that will smash the oppression and destroy the Zionist's soul
and raise the Palestinian banner in the world's sky
And strengthen my word that goes on: Palestinian, Palestinian, Palestinian."

EU-funded NGO glorifies violence and hijackings - on PA TV program for youth
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Dec. 9, 2012
TV host 1: "People of Israel, don't get caught up in arrogance, the hands on the clock will surely come round.
Theft of the land does not scare us..."
TV host 2: "Expect us always, expect us where least expected.
We're in every airport, and in every ticket.
We emerge in Rome and in Zurich from under the rock.
[Note: Reference to PLO/PFLP hijacking of El Al plane in Rome in 1968 and the attempted hijacking of El AL plane in Zurich in 1969.]
We emerge from behind statues and flowerpots.
Our men arrive without warning, with the fury of thunder and the pounding of rain.
They come in the Prophet's robe and with Omar's sword (Muslim conqueror).
Remember, always remember that America, important as it is, is not Allah the Almighty and Omnipotent, and that America with all its strength will not stop the birds from flying.
A small rifle in the hand of a small boy can kill the big one."
TV host 2: "Good evening, dear viewers... Tonight you have greetings from the Palestinian Youth Association -- PYALARA and from PA TV. Today we greet the NGO Development Center -- NDC that helps us discuss youth affairs."

PA daily sports columnist: "[Palestinian] children dazzled the world with only stones and RPGs"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Nov. 19, 2012
In response to Hamas' ongoing rocket fire against Israel, on Nov. 14, 2012, Israel launched an aerial offensive aimed at crippling the terrorist infrastructure in Gaza. PA daily sports columnist Bader Maki demonizes Israel and glorifies violence for children in the following open letter:
"My dear general [Michel Platini], you are currently the president of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), and the Hebrew entity [Israel] is part of this union. Are you satisfied, my brother Michel, that this entity kills our children in Gaza? ...
This cursed entity must be kicked out of this sports union that believes in justice and fair play. The blood of [the children] Ahmed Abu Daqqa and his friends will not have been spilled in vain only if national unity is achieved. We must achieve it to honor the souls of our Martyrs (Shahids), especially those of our children who dazzled the world with only stones and RPGs in their hands. The occupier knows them well from the Intifada and Beirut."

Jerusalem and "every inch" of land will be freed "by the blood of the youth" - girl recites poem on PA TV
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Sept. 8, 2012
Girl on PA TV program for youth recites a poem:
"They say I’m a terrorist, but I’m no terrorist
What can I do, Mother, they took my book away
They tied me up, blindfolded me and threw me in a tank
They threw me into a dark room under watch
They wouldn’t let me see you, Mother, and wouldn’t let me see my friends
I longed to go to school and I longed to have my games...
I swear by a child’s tears...
By the blood of the youth
Jerusalem will return to us...
We’ll free every inch from the foreigner's clutch."
Host: "Bravo, bravo, applause."

"My mother dressed me in a strange belt (i.e., a suicide belt).
I asked her: 'What is this, mother?'
She said: 'I will put it on you and you will go to your death!'
I said to her: 'Mother, what have I done that you want me to die?'
She shed a tear that hurt my heart and said: 'The homeland needs you, son. Go and blow up the Sons of Zion.'
I said to her: 'Why me and not you?'
She said: 'I will stay in order to give birth to more children for the sake of Palestine.'
I kissed her hand and said to her: 'Keep it up, mother, for you and for Palestine I will kill the impure and the damned.'"

Children call for shooting and throwing stones at Israelis as a way to fight against Israel’s "crimes"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, July 8, 2012
“As part of the activities at the environmental summer camp (Our Garden) being held at the coeducational school in Nablus under the supervision of the Palestinian Agricultural Development Association (P.A.R.C.), the children met with Khaled Mansour, coordinator of the national campaign to boycott Israeli goods, to discuss the boycott, which is considered a national and religious duty, and a weapon that allows the Palestinian people to hurt the interests of the Israeli enemy, occupying Palestinian territory. Khaled Mansour told [the children] about the occupation’s crimes – killing, home demolitions, arrests, land confiscation, roadblocks, and settler terror – and discussed with them what they thought every person could do to oppose these crimes. The children’s answers were: resistance to the occupier; attempts to cause it damage. Some of the children said, ‘We will shoot them,’ others: ‘We’ll throw stones at them’; others still: ‘We’ll hold demonstrations’… However, the majority said: ‘We won’t buy their products until they lose…’.

PA daily: “The children must finger their stones” as Palestinians are in a state of war until “the final victory”

Excerpt from a full page article edited by Wasef Mansour, with articles dedicated to the anniversary of the commencement of Fatah activity, against background of Fatah logo. Author of this particular article unknown:
Headline:
"State of love"
"Whenever the invaders (i.e., Israel) run about the streets of our cities, all questions fall away except for one, which fills one's body and mind: How can we render the invaders helpless? How can we cause them to sail away on the sea to the blue eyes where they came from? The eyes of the invaders are different from our eyes, in their color and in their glance. Whenever the invaders run about the streets of our cities, all the children must finger their stones; all the youth must prepare themselves for war. We are in a situation of war up until the final victory."
PA funded magazine publishes essay by 11 year-old lauding Martyrdom-death
Source: Zayzafuna magazine, Jan. 1, 2012
Essay entitled "How do you know that you're a Palestinian?" by Asil Khaled, 5th grade student from El-Bireh:
"If you know that you were born with a death sentence, and if you go to your death without caring - then you're a Palestinian!
If your song is the song of Martyrdom (Shahada), and death, for you, is birth - then you're a Palestinian!
If you love death, and you say the Shahada [declaration] (i.e., the Islamic creed: "There is no God but Allah, Muhammad is Allah's messenger.") aloud - then you're a Palestinian!
If you've ever felt that you're an exploding body and that your soul will long one day to be a knight for the homeland - then you're a Palestinian!
If the stone is your weapon against oppression, and if those who hate [you] criticize your struggle - then you're a Palestinian!
If you have watered the tree of the homeland with your free blood, with love, and have offered the remnants of your bodily parts as a bridge for those who are yet to come - then you're a Palestinian!
If you have shattered the chains, and carried the key to the house from which [your] grandparents were expelled - then you're a Palestinian!
If your wedding (i.e., a Martyr's death and funeral in Islamic tradition are a wedding to the 72 Maidens of Paradise) was amidst a hail of bullets between the shoulders of friends [who carried your body], against the sound of tears mingled with joy and the searing pain of separation- then you're a Palestinian, and you're full of pride at being a Palestinian."
