“Supreme Shari’ah Judge of Palestine and advisor to [PA] President [Mahmoud Abbas] on Religious and Islamic Affairs [and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Shari'ah Justice] Mahmoud Al-Habbash called to establish a global coalition to combat the phenomenon of extremism and terror. During his opening speech at the 29th Conference of Muslims of Latin America and the Caribbean, held in the city of San Paulo, Brazil, Al-Habbash said: ‘Terror has no religion, ethnicity, or nationality, and Islam must not be blamed for it.’ He noted that the terrorist groups and movements that use Islam in acts of murder and the destruction of human civilization have no connection to Islam, as Islam opposes wild indiscriminate murder.”
