PA daily: Italian city grants Marwan Barghouti “honorary citizenship”

     “In the city of Palermo (Italy), the City Council and many organizations marked the International Day of Solidarity with our [Palestinian] people and affirmed the need to end the suffering of the Palestinian people bent under the yoke of Israeli occupation, to achieve a comprehensive peace and to establish a Palestinian state. In addition, the city’s City Council announced that honorary citizenship would be granted to fighter prisoner Marwan Barghouti.”

Note: Marwan Barghouti - serving five life sentences for orchestrating terror attacks against Israeli civilians. When arrested in 2002, he headed the Tanzim (Fatah terror faction). After he was convicted and imprisoned, he was re-elected member of the Palestinian Authority parliament.
