Official PA TV accuses PMW director Itamar Marcus of “incitement against Mahmoud Abbas”

Official PA TV host: “Welcome dear viewers to a new episode of Israeli Media in the Spotlight. The incitement on the Israeli channels continues... In order to incite against [PA] President Abbas and the Palestinian media, Israeli Channel 10 (sic, Channel 20) was helped by Itamar Marcus, director of the Israeli organization PALWATCH (PMW), which specializes in monitoring PA TV. The [Israeli] channel accused President [Abbas] of igniting the escalation [of violence] in Jerusalem. The racism reached a new low when the host [Avri Gilad] said about a Palestinian girl who was talking with PA TV that she should drink bleach, a liquid used in Israel to clean toilets."

The Palestinian girl who the PA TV host refers to recited a poem including the lines:
“Jerusalem is not your [Israel's] den
Jerusalem opposes your throngs
Jerusalem vomits from within it your impurity
Because Jerusalem, you impure ones,
is pious, immaculate
And Jerusalem, you who are filth, is clean and pure.”

Israeli TV host Avri Gilad commented: “The girl needs to drink bleach.”
