Libels
Since the Palestinian Authority was established it has systematically indoctrinated young and old to hate Israelis and Jews. Using media, education, and cultural structures that it controls, the PA has actively promoted religious hatred, demonization, conspiracy libels, etc. These are packaged to present Israelis and Jews as endangering Palestinians, Arabs, and all humanity. This ongoing campaign has so successfully instilled hatred that fighting, murder and even suicide terror against Israelis and Jews are seen by the majority of Palestinians as justified self-defense and as Allah’s will.

Throughout history bogus conspiracy accusations have been used to incite hatred, violence, and mass murder. The myriad conspiracy libels concerning Israel, Israelis and Jews are an integral part of the Palestinian Authority’s ongoing hate promotion. PA libels claim that Israel conspires to infect Palestinians with AIDS, spread drug addiction, conspired and successfully murdered Arafat, and more. The PA’s goal has been to inculcate hatred to the degree that fighting and murdering Jews and Israelis will be glorified as heroic self-defense.

PA TV claims disabled American Jew, murdered by terrorists, was instead murdered by his wife
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, May 2, 2017
Official PA TV narrator: "When the ship (the Italian ship the Achille Lauro –Ed.) left Egypt, the self-sacrificing fighters (Fedayeen) received the weapons, and after a while they thought they had reached the territorial waters next to Ashdod [in southern Israel], and they began to clean the weapons and prepare them. One of the guards on the ship heard them and they were discovered before they reached their target. So they decided to hijack the ship and gathered the passengers in the dining room. During the uproar, an old American was killed when he fell into the water (sic., the hijackers shot and murdered him and threw him overboard in his wheelchair, see note below). His wife was accused of being responsible for the deed and the self-sacrificing fighters had nothing to do with it."

Netanyahu employs "hellish plan" to "blackmail" the world with pictures from the Holocaust in order to justify describing Palestinian "fighter prisoners" as "terrorists"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Apr. 25, 2017
Excerpt of an op-ed by Muwaffaq Matar, regular columnist for the official PA daily
“[Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu is taking advantage of the world’s preoccupation with the war on terror and is attempting to pass his hellish plan to crush the Palestinian cause. This is while in his head is the wicked thought that the world does not distinguish between a terrorist criminal and the last of the freedom fighters, and that the world will submit to his blackmail every time he presents pictures from the Jewish Holocaust and the sword of Antisemitism in order to justify the description of the Palestinian fighter prisoners fighting for freedom as terrorists.”

In a governmental meeting on April 23, 2017, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said: “The Palestinian Authority needs to stop funding the terrorists sitting in prison and stop funding the families of terrorists who were killed while committing their crimes. This is a simple and clear test of the Palestinians’ desire for peace. You cannot be in favor of peace with Israel, and at the same time glorify and fund the murderers of Israelis and the murderers of other innocents.” The statement came after Netanyahu, in an interview with Fox News on April 21, 2017, called on the PA to “stop paying terrorists.”
PA official implies terror attacks in Egypt meant to cause instability to prevent support of the Palestinian cause
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Apr. 12, 2017
“Secretary-General of the [PA] Islamic-Christian Council for Jerusalem and the Holy Places and Fatah Movement Revolutionary Council member Dr. Hanna Issa said that the crime of bombing the churches in Cairo and Alexandria constitutes a war crime (see note below –Ed.)… Issa noted that there are countries that are attempting to create instability in the Arab axis countries, drag them into civil wars, and prevent Egypt from fulfilling its important Arab role in defending the Palestinian cause. Issa said that a global imperialistic axis has created these extremist organizations, and mentioned former American Secretary of State [Hillary] Clinton’s statement, according to which the best way to help Israel is to incite war inside Syria (see note below –Ed.). Issa also said that lately the terror is being escalated for the purpose of undermining the stability of the Palestinian issue , because its solution is the basis [for everything] in the Middle East. This was emphasized by the efforts of [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas in this direction, according to which the Palestinian cause is the center of the conflict in the Middle East, and the region will achieve a respite from all of the terror attacks only after a solution to the Palestinian issue .”

This was said during a meeting between Saidam and [UN] Deputy Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Robert Piper yesterday [March 28, 2017]. Saidam demanded the formation of a UN committee whose goal is to examine the incitement in the Israeli textbooks, particularly in light of the ongoing Israeli claims that accuse the Palestinian textbooks of incitement.
Saidam briefed Piper regarding the recommendations of the workshop that the ministry held recently on this topic. He emphasized that it is necessary to provide urgent protection to the Palestinian schools, and particularly those in Jerusalem, which are subject to processes of Israelization, Judaization, and a distortion of the contents of national identity.”

PA Ministry of Information condemns decision to rename Yasser Arafat street as proof "that the occupation’s mentality is gripped with extremism"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Mar. 6, 2017
Headline: “National condemnation of the removal of Martyr Arafat’s name from a street in Jatt"
"The order given by the occupation's [Israeli] Minister of the Interior Aryeh Deri to Jatt Council Chairman Muhammad Taher Watad to remove [former] President Martyr (Shahid) Yasser Arafat’s name from a street in the village that was named after him years ago has awakened a sharp Palestinian condemnation and was described as a racist and hostile decision…
[Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu ran an incitement campaign against the residents of the village of Jatt, which is in the Triangle (i.e., a concentration of Israeli-Arab towns and villages in northern Israel), for naming [a street] after the late president... The Palestinian [PA] Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that naming a street in the village of Jatt that is within the 1948 territories (i.e., Israel) after Martyr Yasser Arafat angered Netanyahu in an unprecedented manner…
The ministry said in its statement: 'The late president [Arafat] is the one who began the path of peace with Israel, and he is the one that led the peace process between the two sides. Therefore, naming a street after him should not constitute a problem for any side in Israel, especially considering the fact that Jatt is an Arab village that gives its streets Arab names…’
The [PA] Ministry of Information said… in a press statement that the fact that Netanyahu is persecuting a people's memory and a homeland's history proves that the occupation’s mentality is gripped with extremism, and that [the occupation] practices racism even when the matter concerns the names of streets and squares, while it glorifies murderers and holds ceremonies to celebrate terrorists."

PA TV reporter warns parents to teach children "to fight the falsification of all of history" and "refute all of the false claims that the enemy plants"
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Feb. 28, 2017
Official PA TV program Palestine This Morning, on the launching of the My Family Reads campaign to encourage families to read to their children
Official PA TV reporter: “The My Family Reads [campaign means] that you will encourage your children to read, that you will direct them to fight the falsification of all of history, and that you will refute all of the false claims that the enemy plants [in the Palestinians’ minds], as a people that reads does not starve and is not enslaved.”

PMW notes the irony in this item, as the PA regularly fabricates history, as we have documented.
Fatah official: Arabs, not Israel, are fighting terror; establishment of Palestine will lead to defeat of ISIS
Source: Ma’an, independent Palestinian news agency, Feb. 23, 2017
Headline: "Erekat: The Arabs are the ones fighting terror, not Netanyahu"
"[Fatah Central Committee member] and top Palestinian official in charge of negotiations Saeb Erekat said today, Wednesday [Feb. 22, 2017], that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s statements, according to which Tel Aviv is fighting terror, are a broken record. He emphasized that the Arabs are the ones that are fighting terror, and added: 'Those who are fighting terror and dealing with it are the great Egyptian soldier, the Jordanian soldier, the Iraqi, and the Syrian, and not Israel.'
Erekat added during an interview with journalist Tamer Amin on the Egyptian satellite channel Al-Haya that the solution to the Palestinian issue is the path to security and stability in the region and the basis for vanquishing ISIS and extremism in this region. We are states that are being burned by terror… and no one wants to defeat terror like we Arabs, as ideas are not killed with bullets, but rather this is begun by drying up the Israeli house of occupation and establishing the State of Palestine in the '67 borders."
Fatah official falsely claims that Ben Gurion called for the elimination of Iraq, Egypt, and Syria
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Feb. 20, 2017
Official PA TV program State of Politics, hosting Fatah Commissioner of National Affairs and Fatah Central Committee member Azzam Al-Ahmad
Fatah Commissioner of National Affairs and Fatah Central Committee member Azzam Al-Ahmad: “Several days ago I decided to return to the diaries of [former Israeli Prime Minister David] Ben Gurion. I read a section that I would like to repeat. What did Ben Gurion say about Israel? He said: ‘Our power is not in our nuclear weapons. Our power is based on the elimination of three entities that are around us’ (sic ., Ben Gurion did not make this quote or the following quotes attributed to him), and he enumerated them in order: Iraq, Syria, and Egypt. He continued: ‘And [we should ] create religious and ethnic conflicts in their midst.’ He continues and says: ‘Our power is not in our cleverness, but rather in the stupidity of the others.’”
Governor of Ramallah: Israel "is disposing of poisonous and radioactive waste in the occupied Palestinian territories"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Feb. 5, 2017
Headline: “Ramallah hosts the first Marathon of Life as a sign of solidarity with cancer patients”
“Maryam, a sixth-grade student at the American School of Palestine, together with 16 children sick with the ‘malignant disease’ (i.e ., cancer) and hundreds of citizens, took part in marking World Cancer Day, which takes place on Feb. 4 every year. This comes amid national concern over the spread of the disease, which according to new official statistics [every year] threatens 84 new people out of [every] 100,000 Palestinians in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
Maryam and her family do not have the disease, but she knows children who suffer from it, and she arrived for them to take part in the first Marathon of Life, in order to raise awareness of cancer and its dangers…
District Governor of Ramallah and El-Bireh Laila Ghannam emphasized the importance of these activities…
Ghannam connected the rise in the occurrence of cancer to the cancer of the settlements and the fact that the occupation is disposing of poisonous and radioactive waste in the occupied Palestinian territories.
She said: ‘We all know that the largest cancer in the life of the Palestinian people is the Israeli occupation, its settlement enterprise, and their waste that indeed causes the occurrence of cancer.’
She added: ‘For our people, who deals firmly and resolutely with the cancer of the occupation and the settlements, there is enough willpower to defeat cancer and provide treatment for the sick.’”
PLO official claims US embassy move "means that the US is Israel’s partner in committing a war crime"
Source: Donia Al-Watan (independent Palestinian news agency), Jan. 26, 2017
Headline: “Abu Yusuf: Transferring the embassy is a dangerous step and American participation in war crimes”
“Secretary-General of the Palestinian Liberation Front and PLO Executive Committee member Dr. Wasel Abu Yusuf emphasized that transferring the American embassy to Jerusalem is a very dangerous step that means that the US is Israel’s partner in committing a war crime and violating the international law and a principle that has existed since World War II, according to which it is forbidden to annex the territory of others by force.
Abu Yusuf said: ‘[Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu’s positions prove on the ground that it is not possible to establish a Palestinian state whose capital is Jerusalem, and he is trying in this way to gain time.’ He noted that transferring the embassy will cause the spread of terror and the undermining of the stability in the region, in light of the strengthening of the settlement…
He also noted that Jerusalem is the occupied capital of the State of Palestine, and transferring the embassy to it contradicts the decisions of the international bodies, international law, and agreements that were sponsored by the US.
Abu Yusuf emphasized that this constitutes a serious position, as the Palestinian leadership has options, the most prominent of which is strengthening the resolve of our people and its refusal of dictates, and therefore it is necessary to act to expand the scope of the popular resistance in all of its forms (i.e., including violence) and to strengthen the international boycott of the occupation state.”
Op-ed in official PA daily: ISIS is "guided by the remote control of the supreme Israeli interests"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Dec. 22, 2016
Headline: "Karak and what is after it"
Excerpt of an op-ed by Muwaffaq Matar, Fatah Revolutionary Council member and regular columnist for the official PA daily
"What is the connection between the timing of the attack by the criminal and barbaric members of ISIS against Karak in the Hashemite Jordanian Kingdom (i.e., attack in Karak, Jordan, on Dec. 18, 2016, 10 killed, dozens wounded) and the bills the government of Israel gave to the Israeli Parliament, to legislate laws to legalize the settlements in the Palestinian West Bank and to forbid sounding the call of the Muezzin (i.e., Muslim call to prayer) with loudspeakers in the mosques of Jerusalem (sic., the law does not apply only to mosques or only to Jerusalem, see note below)? What influence will there be from the involvement of the kingdom in grave security matters, such as ISIS' bloody attacks… at the expense of its responsibility for the holy sites in Jerusalem, according to the agreement signed with the State of Palestine? (sic., Israel handed over the administration of the Temple Mount to the Jordanian Waqf in 1967) …
The timing of these crimes and the fact that they are being carried out simultaneously with the trend and decisions of Israel to establish the occupation, the settlements, and the Judaization of Jerusalem and the holy sites – and primarily the Al-Aqsa Mosque – rule out the possibility of coincidence; this makes us certain that these barbarians are guided by the remote control of the supreme Israeli interests. According to orders they bomb here, slaughter there, and destroy in another place."

PA Minister of Tourism claims Israeli tour guides "fabricate the Palestinian history" in Bethlehem
Source: Wattan (independent Palestinian news agency)‎, Dec. 12, 2016
Headline: "[PA] Minister of Tourism to Wattan: [There are] secret deals, and the Israeli guides are fabricating the truth"
"In response to a question about Israeli tour guides that enter Bethlehem with tourist groups from the world and fabricate the Palestinian history and geography, [PA] Minister [of Tourism and Antiquities Rula] Ma'ay'a said: 'Since I took up the position of Minister of Tourism in 2012, this has been one of the central issues and challenges that we have dealt with. I admit that there is a problem with this issue. We have tried to get around it, for example by officially asking the states that visit Palestine to take a Palestinian guide, but preventing the entry of Israeli guides was a difficult step, and we could not do it.' She continued: 'If it had been denied to them from the beginning, it would have been easier now.'
In response to the question as to whether the Ministry of Tourism is taking any steps of punishment against any Israeli tour guide that fabricates the history in Bethlehem, she responded: 'We cannot put them on trial when they are with us, but we have held many of them back and banned them from speaking in Bethlehem. We put Palestinian tour guides in those groups in their place, but there is nothing that constitutes a real deterrent.'
Ma'ay'a said: 'During past years the tourism to Palestine took place through the Israeli bureau of tourism, and [tourists were] staying mainly in Israeli hotels, but following our work and activities together with the Palestinian private sector, now 45% of the tourism comes to the region through the Palestinian bureau of tourism, and the bureau on its part appoints a Palestinian tour guide, which has helped us spread the true Palestinian version [of history].'"
PA Ministry of Foreign Affairs: "Netanyahu's government continues to light racist fires”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Nov. 28, 2016
Headline: “[PA] Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Netanyahu’s government continues to light racist fires”
“The [PA] Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated: ‘Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the heads of his coalition took advantage of the current wave of fires in Israel to launch an offensive of statements and positions contaminated by racism and full of hatred against the Palestinians and Arabs, while accusing them of being behind [the wave of fires].’
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified yesterday in a statement: ‘These accusations were directed [at the Palestinians and Arabs] even before any investigations were launched. This is part of an inciting and racist systematic Israeli policy, to which the right and extremist right are turning in an attempt to falsely accuse the Palestinians of ‘the sabotage and terror,’ to divert attention from the internal problems that Netanyahu and his coalition are dealing with, and to increase the extremism in Israeli society and broaden the circle of supporters of the right within Israel.’
It [the ministry] noted that the fires in the West Bank broke out in places that from the outset were marked as targets by the occupation and the settlement enterprise, and which are constantly subjected to repeated attacks by the settlers – which testifies to Israel’s intentions to get its hands on those places, and helps to link the fires in the West Bank with the daily attacks by the settlers and the occupation army.
The ministry added: ‘Likewise, this strengthens the assumption that some of the fires that broke out in the West Bank were deliberately set by people in extremist groups of settlers in order to complete their takeover of these areas.’”

Fatah members: Israel is threatening Abbas’ life
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Nov. 19, 2016
Headline: “The Church of the Nativity deportees emphasize their support of [PA] President Abbas”

“Fatah Movement activists from the Church of the Nativity who were deported (i.e ., terrorists who held people hostage at the church in 2002, see note below), declared their support of [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas, following the brutal assault by the Israeli government against the president.
The deportees said in a statement that reached [the independent Palestinian news agency] Ma’an that the Israeli government on several occasions has threatened to harm President Abbas…
The deportees warned against the consequences of harming the president, because he is the safety valve of the Palestinian state.”

Siege of the Church of the Nativity - In 2002, during the PA terror campaign (the second Intifada, 2000-2005), Israel launched Operation Defensive Shield in the West Bank to prevent future terror attacks against Israelis. During the operation, 39 terrorists fled to the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, using dozens of hostages and the religious site as shields. After 39 days of siege by the Israeli army, the terrorists released the hostages and were deported to Gaza and Cyprus. During the siege, the church was damaged in exchanges of fire between the terrorists and the Israeli army. One clergyman was killed by the terrorists and 8 terrorists were killed by the Israeli army.
Fatah official: "Israel has surpassed ISIS in its crimes," Israeli government permits "the burning of the mosques by the gangs of settlers"
Source: Ma’an, independent Palestinian news agency, Nov. 16, 2016
Headline: “Zaki: The decision to forbid [the sounding of] the Muezzin in Jerusalem will not pass”
“Fatah Central Committee member and [Fatah] Commissioner for Arab and China Relations Abbas Zaki warned against the danger of the Israeli decision to legislate a law forbidding [the sounding of] the Muezzin (i.e., the person who sings the Muslim call to prayer) in places of worship in the territories that were occupied in 1948 (i.e., Israel), and to legalize outposts (i.e., a bill legalizing Israeli towns in the West Bank)…
Zaki emphasized that Israel has surpassed ISIS in its crimes, and it is currently behaving like a gang of criminals. There is no difference between the destruction of the mosques by ISIS and the ban [on the sounding of] the Muezzin and the burning of the mosques by the gangs of settlers under the official and security cover of the occupation government.”

On Nov. 13, 2016, a bill to ban religious institutions from broadcasting over loudspeakers was approved for a preliminary reading in the Israeli Parliament. The bill is intended to prevent noise pollution. This bill is referred to by many as the "Muezzin Law," although it does not refer to any specific religion.
Other countries have already approved or attempted legislation for regulating the use of loudspeakers in mosques in order to limit noise pollution. These include India, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Turkey, Bahrain, the United Emirates, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, France, the UK, Austria, Norway, and Belgium, and the US. The PA has also passed legislation regarding the use of loudspeakers in mosques in order to reduce noise pollution.

Op-ed in PA daily: Israel creates “the international organized terror” and “nourishes and supports” Islamic terror organizations like ISIS
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Oct. 20, 2016
Headline: "ISIS' crime against the Martyrs"
Op-ed by Omar Hilmi Al-Ghoul, regular columnist for the official PA daily
"The Martyrs (Shahids) are more noble and honorable than all of us together. They are candles of the path of liberation and return and bearers of the flag of the cause and the people. They are pioneers of self-sacrifice who do not differentiate between 'I' and 'we.' They have risen to the highest levels of integration with the expectations, desires, and goals of the people. Their giving has no boundaries. No comparison can be made between Martyrdom (Shahada, death for Allah) and units of measurement, as self-sacrifice is greater than all the assessments and descriptions…
The tombstones of those who wrote the most spectacular epics in the national history and wrote with their pure blood the most pure, sublime, and glorious pages on the people's golden list have been destroyed by the ISIS Takfiris (i.e., Muslims who accuse other Muslims of heresy) in the cemetery of Martyrs (Shahids) in the Al-Yarmouk refugee camp southeast of the Syrian capital of Damascus, which is still under their rule."

Fatah cartoon: Long-nosed Jew explodes Muslim world
Source: Website of Fatah's Information and ‎Culture Commission, Oct. 18, 2016
Cartoon posted on the website of Fatah’s Information and Culture Commission

Headline:
“No commentary!”
The cartoon shows a long-nosed Jew with an Israeli flag on his arm lighting a fuse to blow up a bomb. Inside the bomb, a Shi'ite Muslim and a Sunni Muslim are lighting fuses to blow up each other.  The cartoon expresses the libel that Jews/Israel seek to destroy the Muslim world, and are possibly taking advantage of the internal Muslim fighting to do so. The cartoon is also critical of the Muslim world, which is depicted as so focused on killing each other that they do not see the Jews taking advantage of it to kill them.
