PA Minister Karake: Israel’s bill forbidding prisoner releases encourages PA to “liberate prisoners – not through peace and negotiations”

“[PA Minister of Prisoners’ Affairs Issa] Karake called the Israeli bill forbidding the release of prisoners a political injustice on the part of Israel, saying that it reflects the control of the racist, extremist right-wing trend in Israel... Karake noted that the Israeli government has tied its own [hands] and posed obstacles to the very possibility of securing the release of Israeli soldiers in the event that they are captured – especially since Israel is an occupying state embroiled in conflict in the region, and whose soldiers are at risk of being kidnapped. Through this bill, it is as if it [Israel] were asking the Palestinian people to turn to other means of liberating its prisoners – not through peace and negotiations.”
