PLO official calls on international court to recognize Palestinian attackers as "prisoners of freedom and a legitimate national struggle," not terrorists

Headline: “Karake and Fares call to transfer the matter of the prisoners to the International Criminal Court and for as many as possible to participate in Prisoner’s Day”
“Director of [PLO] Commission of Prisoners and Released Prisoners’ Affairs Issa Karake and Chairman of the Prisoner’s Club Qadura Fares called on the political echelon to transfer the matter of prisoners to the International Criminal Court (ICC)…
This was during a press conference held in the government media center yesterday, Monday afternoon [April 13, 2015], for the announcement of the beginning of Palestinian Prisoner’s Day events in all the districts of the homeland and in the Interior areas of ’48 (i.e., PA term for Israel).
Karake said that our current effort focuses on transferring the matter of the Palestinian prisoners to the ICC, and on a petition to the international court in The Hague to give an opinion recognizing the Palestinian prisoners as prisoners of freedom and a legitimate national struggle, and to deny the Israeli narrative, which claims that our prisoners are ‘terrorists and murderers.’ He demanded that the international community obligate Israel to implement the Geneva Convention in the Palestinian territories, especially in everything regarding the prisoners.”
