PA Mufti: Israel’s goal is to “eradicate… [Jerusalem’s] Arab and Islamic identity" by "spreading [the idea of] the alleged Temple and biblical fantasies”

“The ‘Hana Al-Quds’ network for social communication held a press conference yesterday, Monday [June 1, 2015], at the Institute for Modern Media in Ramallah, regarding the continuous invasions of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and their implications… [Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian Territories] Sheikh [Muhammad] Hussein emphasized that non-Muslims have no right to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and it is the obligation of every Muslim and Christian who has holy places in Jerusalem to wake up and protect them because of the major changes the occupation is making to the character of the holy city. Likewise, he emphasized that Al-Aqsa is an Islamic mosque, with all it includes, and that what the occupation is carrying out is a culture war, whose goal is to eradicate the character of the holy city and its Arab and Islamic identity by spreading [the idea of] the alleged Temple and biblical fantasies.”
Note: The PA considers any presence of Jews on the Temple Mount an "invasion." However, all visitors are subject to rigorous checks by Israeli security personnel before being granted access to the Temple Mount.
