Jibril Rajoub
Jibril Rajoub is Deputy-Secretary of the Fatah Central Committee (since September 2009). He is also Head of the Supreme Council for Sport and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Palestinian Football Association, and Chairman of the Palestinian Olympic Committee. He is a former member of the Fatah Revolutionary Council (until Aug. 2009), the former National Security Advisor to Yasser Arafat, rank of Brigadier-General, and the former Head of the West Bank Preventive Security Forces (1994-2002)

Jibril Rajoub was sentenced to life in prison in 1970 for throwing a grenade at an Israeli army truck. He was released in the Jibril Agreement - A deal between the Israeli government and the terrorist organization the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), led by Ahmed Jibril. On May 21, 1985, Israel released 1,150 Palestinian prisoners, including terrorist murderers, in exchange for three Israeli soldiers who had been taken hostage by the PFLP.

In 2015, the PA submitted a request to FIFA to suspend Israel, organized and promoted by Rajoub. PMW published a report, "PA sports: Prohibiting peace and glorifying terror," showing the irony of Rajoub's request, since the PA uses sports to further entrench the conflict with Israel and to send the message that murdering Israeli civilians is honorable and heroic.
Fatah official calls to “establish a national leadership for the intifada”
Source: Al-Quds, Apr. 5, 2016
Headline: "Deputy Secretary of the Fatah Central Committee [and head of the Palestinian Olympic Committee] Rajoub to Al-Quds: We are ready to establish a unified national leadership for the intifada (reference to wave of Palestinian terror attacks that started in Sept./Oct. 2015 –Ed.), the clash with the occupation is a fixed element of the national conduct"
"Deputy Secretary of the Fatah Central Committee Jibril Rajoub expressed hope that we will get closer to obtaining reconciliation [between Fatah and Hamas] and emphasized that the first step out of the present situation, which he described as complex and complicated, is by reaching national unity, and that indeed his movement [Fatah] will continue to act in accordance with Qatar’s efforts in this direction.
Rajoub emphasized that the Palestinian arena is at a sharp and critical turning point, and therefore the Palestinian position must be taken to the level of challenging [the occupation]. This is especially so in light of the collapse occurring in the region and the unprecedented escalation of the Israeli settlement [enterprise] and terror against the Palestinians, which necessitates that the confrontations in the field with the occupation constitute a fixed element in the national Palestinian conduct. Likewise, he called to provide a framework for the popular uprising against the occupation taking place in the field by establishing a national leadership for the intifada and adopting a struggle plan regarding what's taking place..."

Fatah official mentions terrorist Dalal Mughrabi in letter of thanks to Algeria for its support of Palestinians
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Feb. 23, 2016
Article by Deputy Secretary of the Fatah Central Committee and Chairman of the Palestinian Football Association Jibril Rajoub:
Headline: “A letter of thanks to all Algerians”
“The distance between Palestine and Algeria is the same as the distance between Jerusalem and its walls or between Algeria and its sea! … Algeria is still the most generous, closest, and most interested in its little sister [Palestine], which makes Martyr (Shahida) Dalal Mughrabi (i.e., Palestinian terrorist who led a massacre in which 37 were killed) the legal daughter of Djamila Bouhired (i.e., Algerian terrorist who became a political activist)."
PA official to terrorists: “You are heroes and we bless you… and say to you: You are a crown on our heads”
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Jan. 6, 2016

Deputy Secretary of the Fatah Central Committee, Jibril Rajoub:‎ "I say to the Israelis first of all: You sons of bitches, we will not accept less than a ‎Palestinian state. We are the owners of the land, and we are the residents of the land ‎and you are strangers in the land... Our relations with the occupation need to be first of ‎all on a basis of clashes – until a Palestinian state is established. Do not believe in ‎‎[Israeli Prime Minister] Netanyahu, he is a liar and a scoundrel, and he’s a Fascist and ‎represents the new Nazism... From here we say to the 145 Martyrs (Palestinians killed ‎in the 2015-2016 terror wave , most during terror attacks –Ed.) – You are ‎heroes and we bless you and strengthen your families, and say to you: You are a ‎crown on our heads.‎"

Fatah leader: Terrorists, murderers are “heroes and a crown on the head of every Palestinian”
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Jan. 2, 2016

Deputy Secretary of the Fatah Central Committee Jibril Rajoub:
“Yesterday in Hebron, they escorted 17 Martyrs to burial. This is of course a source of pride for all of us. I say that whoever carried out individual acts of heroism, we in the Fatah movement bless and encourage them. We consider them heroes and a crown on the head of every Palestinian. At this point, when there is weakening and frustration, there is a group of people, beginning with our brother Muhannad Halabi (i.e., murdered 2) and ending with the last Martyr... There is a competition between individuals. This is one of the issues we need to address – are we for or against it? I say that we in the [Fatah] Central Committee have discussed this matter, and we are in favor."

PA official on Palestinian terror attacks: They are “acts of bravery, I am proud of them”
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Oct. 17, 2015

Deputy Secretary of the Fatah Central Committee Jibril Rajoub:
"Clearly these are individual operations (i.e., terror attacks), however, they comprise bravery and composure. They contain a range of values that obligate the political elite and political and national Palestinian powers to see the will of that hero who wrote a blog. It can be a document they could teach in schools, on the meaning of Martyrdom-death -"
PA TV host: "Fadi Alloun (i.e., terrorist who stabbed one)."
Rajoub: "- and the meaning of patriotism... This is the Palestinian behavior in the field that comprises a high willingness to sacrifice. You see [an Israeli] soldier with a rifle fleeing [a Palestinian] with a knife or even one with nothing, or [an Israeli] scared in front of a Palestinian, only because he is Palestinian... These are individual acts of bravery, and I am proud of them. I congratulate everyone who carried them out. I say to you, we are proud of you... Whoever confronts, fights, dies as a Martyr, is arrested or injured – his identity is known. What I mean is that the fighter, the prisoner, or the Martyr, they are assets to the entire Palestinian people... The international community does not agree to a bus exploding in Tel Aviv. But the international community does not ask what happens to a settler or soldier in the occupied territories at the wrong time and in the wrong place. No one asks about him! Therefore, we want to fight in such a way that the world and the international community will remain by our side."

“Of course we want to bear our responsibility, but it is this occupation (i.e., Israel) that unilaterally attacks us, that is continually settling scores with us for the German Holocaust. “Not even Nazism” targeted sports and sportsmen, but Israel has a “systematic policy… to eradicate Palestinian sports”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Nov. 25, 2014
“[Deputy Secretary of the Fatah Central Committee, Head of the Supreme Council for Sport and Youth Affairs, and] President of the Palestinian Football Association Jibril Rajoub condemned the fact that a military force armed with weapons of the Israeli occupation army had raided the Association’s headquarters in Al-Ram, searched it and humiliated its workers. During a press conference at the Association’s headquarters immediately after the raid, Rajou b said that… the raid on the Association’s headquarters was an open confirmation and proof of Israel’s systematic policy, which aims to eradicate Palestinian sports and destroy all means for its spread and development through its daily crimes against sportsmen in Palestine. He added: ‘[No such thing] has ever occurred in human history, not even in Hitler’s time. Not even Nazism, which everyone spurns, ever interfered and attacked sports and sportsmen, as is being done to the Palestinians.’”

Note: An Israeli army spokesperson explained that Palestinians who had been arrested outside the building in which the Palestinian Football Association is located claimed their personal papers were inside the office. Source: Al-Quds website, Nov. 5, 2014
“Deputy Secretary of the Fatah Central Committee Jibril Rajoub accused Benjamin Netanyahu’s extremist right-wing Israeli government of repeating the acts of the Third Reich – the name the Nazi party gave to Germany under Hitler’s regime… Rajoub described the Israeli Prime Minister as a ‘Fuhrer’ leading a group of corrupt extremists, the likes of [Foreign Minister Avigdor] Liberman and [Minister of the Economy] Naftali Bennett, who have outdone Goebbels, Hitler’s propaganda minister, in their lies and racist Nazi acts…
Rajoub condemned the racist statements made by Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman against President Abbas for sending a telegram of condolence to the family of Martyr (Shahid) Mutaz Hijazi, and called on him [Liberman] to go back to his original homeland. He added that the Fatah Central Committee had decided that future relations with Israel would be as those between an occupier and a people under occupation; that is, between enemies. Rajoub stressed that [although] the Palestinian leadership would not oppose the weapons of the Resistance, 'they must remain in storage, without military demonstrations in the streets, and when there is an attack, the battle will be one in all the Palestinian territories, in which all members of the Palestinian people will participate.'"

Deputy Secretary of Fatah: Football match between Israeli and Palestinian children is "a crime against humanity"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Sept. 8, 2014
Headline: "Rajoub: 'Normalization in sports with the Zionist occupation is a crime'"
"[Deputy Secretary of Fatah's Central Committee,] Chairman of the Olympic Committee, and Chairman of the [Palestinian] Football Association Jibril Rajoub said any activity of normalization in sports with the Zionist enemy is a crime against humanity. He said that the position of the sports leadership on the issue is perfectly clear.
Rajoub's statements were made in response to a sports activity held a few days ago (i.e., a football match between Palestinian and Israeli children sponsored by the Israeli Peres Center for Peace)...
Rajoub emphasized the following points:
1. The game was an Israeli attempt to cover up their crimes against [Palestinian] athletes. It is a disgrace to use sports for this purpose.

2. If there are Israeli parties who believe sport is a means of spreading values and peace, they should come out against the occupation's crimes against Palestinian athletes, whether the restriction of their movement, the destruction of their [sports] facilities or the physical elimination of dozens of them...

3. For a while now the Palestinian sports leadership and community - the Supreme Council for Sport and Youth Affairs, the Palestinian Olympic Committee and the Palestinian Football Association - have opposed such activities.

4. I demand that all individuals and institutions distance themselves from such activities, especially because their recurrence would arouse disgust and aversion towards all members of the [Palestinian] sports community."
