Ireland supports PA education system

Headline: “Awratani and the Irish minister of foreign affairs sign an agreement to support the strategic education plan”

“[PA] Minister of Education Marwan Awratani yesterday [Dec. 4, 2019] signed an agreement to support the strategic plan of the education sector in Palestine (2017-2022) with Irish Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Simon Coveney. This was in the framework of the joint funding basket JFA [Joint Financing Agreement], which includes Ireland, Finland, Germany, and Norway. The agreement’s goal is to increase all of the students’ chances of receiving a secure, comprehensive, and just education.

Awratani briefed the visitor on the difficulties and challenges that the education sector in Palestine faces due to the occupation and its incessant violations…

The Irish minister emphasized that his country is making sure to continue supporting Palestine – and as part of this, the education sector – in order to enable the [PA] Ministry of Education to continue carrying out its development plans efficiently.”
