Netanyahu visit to Hebron is "invasion," "Goebbels and Mussolini are the spiritual fathers of the racist fascist culture that Netanyahu is implementing", denial of Jewish history - PA and Fatah officials on PA TV

Official PA TV News, on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's visit to Hebron in September 2019, hosting Director-General of Religious Affairs in Hebron Jamal Abu Arram and Fatah Central Committee Secretary Jibril Rajoub

Director-General of Religious Affairs in Hebron Jamal Abu Arram:"The scenario we are seeing today, with [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu's invasion of the holy Ibrahimi Mosque’s courtyards(i.e., Cave of the Patriarchs),reminds us of 2000, when [then Israeli Opposition Leader Ariel] Sharon invaded the Al-Aqsa Mosque courtyards [Ed. - This incident was used as a pretext for launching the Second Intifada - PA terror campaign, 2000 - 2004]." […]

Official PA TV host: “What are the consequences of occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s invasion of Hebron?”

Fatah Central Committee Secretary Jibril Rajoub: "In other words, first of all, Netanyahu is proving that he is a continuation of fascism and Nazism. [Nazi Minister of Propaganda Joseph] Goebbels and [Italian Prime Minister Benito] Mussolini are the spiritual fathers of the racist fascist culture that Netanyahu is implementing against the Palestinian people. What happened today in Hebron is a provocation of the highest order. His entry into the city for the first time in 21 years is a message, in my opinion, not only for the Palestinians. It is a message to the entire world that this man disregards all of the agreements, all of the laws, and even the sensibilities of the Muslims in Hebron. He bases his narrative on a collection of lies based on the power of force.Baruch Goldstein (carried out the Cave of the Patriarchs Massacre; see note below –Ed.), who is a hero from [Netanyahu's] perspective, is one of Netanyahu's followers – [Netanyahu] built a generation of Israelis who carry out official terror against the Palestinians…

For the last week or two, everything that is happening in the Palestinian lands – in Jerusalem, all of the occupied lands, the crossings, and all areas of our lives – is a provocative act whose goal is to lead to a massacre by means of which Netanyahu will climb to the helm of the government. This [has been happening] for days and weeks; we are advancing and before us are two scenarios: There will either be a confrontation under international auspices to end the conflict according to the basic principles of its resolution and not on the basis of the political plan of this prime minister, the head of his state [Israeli President Reuven Rivlin], and Chairman of his Parliament [Israeli Parliament Speaker Yuli Edelstein], and their plan that is based on how Palestine – from the [Jordan] River to the [Mediterranean] Sea – belongs to the Jews, according to lies that have no connection to history, reality, legitimacy, and the like.Or else we will go into a clash and conflict…

I say again – every inch of this land is holy from our perspective. The Al-Aqsa Mosque, the [Ibrahimi] Mosque, and all Palestinian blood are holy.I say it like this – we are going in a certain direction. Either this conflict will end and we will enjoy our right to self-determination through the establishment of our state, or we will go to battle.

If we go to battle – and we do not want this – I think that this battle will be comprehensive – geographically, socially, and politically. If this battle happens – and I say: We do not want this, but we are also not afraid of it – in this situation and this time we will under no circumstances return the sword to its sheath until this occupation ends."

Jibril Rajoub also holds the positions of Head of the PLO Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the Palestinian Football Association, Chairman of the Palestine Olympic Committee, and Chairman of the Palestinian Scout Association (PSA).

Cave of the Patriarchs massacre - Baruch Goldstein, a member of an Israeli far-right movement, opened fire on Muslims praying inside the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron, known to Muslims as the "Ibrahimi Mosque," murdering 29 and wounding 125 on Feb. 25, 1994. Following the attack, which was widely condemned by Israeli leaders and Jewish communities abroad, the Israeli government took concrete steps to prevent similar attacks from occurring by dividing the area of worship into Muslim and Jewish sections and designating several extremist movements, including Goldstein’s, as illegal terrorist groups.
