Fatah official “envies” PLO official who died believing in “armed struggle” as the only path

Image posted on the Facebook page of Fatah Central Committee member Abbas Zaki

The image shows a condolence letter sent by Fatah Central Committee member Abbas Zaki to Deputy Secretary-General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – General Command (PFLP – GC) Talal Naji. At the top of the letter is the Fatah logo that includes a grenade, crossed rifles, and the PA map of “Palestine” that presents all of Israel together with the PA areas as “Palestine.”

Text of letter: “We join in your sorrow over the death of excellent commander [Ahmed Jibril] ‘Abu Jihad’ (i.e., senior PLO leader), who was an example of commitment to the Palestinian National Convention and the unending struggle to liberate the land. The departed had a significant presence in the Palestinian scene, whether you agreed with him or disagreed with him. He was uncompromising in defending his opinion, and he saw no path to solve the conflict with the settler Zionist entity other than armed struggle. I envy him for passing away while he was still obsessed with this dream.”

Abbas Zaki also holds the position as Fatah Commissioner for Arab and China Relations
