PA depicts a world without Israel
The Palestinian Authority makes no attempt to educate its people towards peace and coexistence with Israel. On the contrary, from every possible platform it repeatedly rejects Israel's right to exist, presents the conflict as a religious battle for Islam, depicts the establishment of Israel as an act of imperialism, and perpetuates a picture of the Middle East, both verbally and visually, in which Israel does not exist at all. Israel's destruction is said to be both inevitable and a Palestinian obligation.

The following description of Israel's founding in a Palestinian schoolbook represents the dominant dogma about Israel:

"Palestine’s war ended with a catastrophe that is unprecedented in history, when the Zionist gangs stole Palestine … and established the so-called State of Israel."
[Arabic Language, Analysis, Literature and Criticism, grade 12, p. 104]
This official PA map of "Palestine” was broadcast on PA TV in September 2011. The map includes both the PA areas and all of Israel (excluding the Golan Heights) wrapped in the Palestinian flag - a symbol of Palestinian sovereignty over the whole area - and has a key through it, symbolizing ownership. Similar maps presenting all of Israel as "Palestine" appear in Palestinian schoolbooks and are shown regularly on PA TV.
Future: A world without Israel
The PA promises its people that in the future, the State of Israel will be completely erased and replaced by a State of Palestine. A Fatah member of Palestinian parliament, Najat Abu Bakr, told PA TV that the PA supports and adopts the “stages plan.” To the world, the PA claims that the Palestinians seek the West Bank and Gaza Strip, when in fact the goal is all of Israel: “It doesn’t mean that we don’t want the 1948 borders, but in our current political program we say we want a state on the 1967 borders.” [PA TV (Fatah), Aug. 25, 2008]

Fatah Central Committee member Abbas Zaki reiterated this position on Al-Jazeera TV:
“It is impossible to realize the inspiring idea or the great goal in one stroke… Israel will come to an end… If I say that I want to remove it from existence, this will be great, great, [but] it is hard. This is not a [stated] policy. You can't say it to the world. You can say it to yourself.” [Al-Jazeera TV, Sept. 23, 2011]

The following words from a song on official PA TV, which started to appear in 2012, expresses longing for the day that Jaffa, Acre, Haifa and the Galilee, all in Israel, will be part of “my country” (“Palestine”) where all cities would be accessible "with no borders":
"I wish I could enter my country with no borders...
I will go about in Bethlehem and in Al-Aqsa [Mosque], which is held captive...
I do not forget Jenin or Nablus, and the Galilee
I do not forget you, Jaffa…
To Jerusalem, to Ramle, to Acre, to Haifa, oh Lord...
I wish I could enter my country with no borders." [PA TV (Fatah), Feb. 9, 2012]

The PA’s using culture to long for the destruction of Israel is not new. Many examples can be seen in this section below, including a music video, which aired on official PA TV from 2007 – 2009 and promises the liberation of “Palestine,” listing numerous Israeli cities as “Palestine”:
"We will liberate the Land of the religions … Palestine is Arab in history and identity… From Jerusalem and Acre, from Haifa and Jericho and Gaza and Ramallah, from Bethlehem and Jaffa, Be'er Sheba and Ramle, and from Nablus to the Galilee, from Tiberias to Hebron.”
Finally, the newest PA schoolbooks teach that "Palestine will be liberated by its men, its women, its young ones and its elderly." [Arabic Language and the Science of Language, grade 12, p. 44]
PLO leader: Everyone knows our goal is to take all of Israel – “liberate all of Palestine”

Palestinian National Council member Khaled Mismar: "The revolution broke out in 1965 (i.e., first Fatah terror attack) in order to liberate all of the land of Palestine (i.e., all of Israel), but circumstances didn't permit it... We have fought, and we have withstood everything, all the plots, but we will realize our goal. True, we agreed to receive only 20 or 22 percent of Palestine (i.e., West Bank and Gaza Strip), but a right is never lost as long as someone demands it. Every one of us knows what our goal is (i.e., to 'liberate all of Palestine')."

Leave, leave, leave

The song was broadcast on the official PA radio station on occasion of Nakba Day - Palestinians commemorate Nakba Day on May 15, the day after the establishment of Israel. On May 15, 1948, combined forces from Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Iraq joined local Arab forces in an attempt to eradicate the newly established State of Israel. The Nakba (Arabic = catastrophe) refers to the establishment of Israel, and the Arabs’ subsequent loss of the war, including the killing and displacement of Arab civilians that occurred during the war.

Land Day – an annual commemoration of the general strike and demonstrations organized by Israeli Arab residents of the Galilee on March 30, 1976 to protest the Israeli government's decision to expropriate land in the Galilee for security and settlement purposes, which it later implemented. During the protests, demonstrators burnt tires, blocked roads, and threw rocks and firebombs. Six demonstrators were shot and killed by the Israeli army and police. Israeli Arabs and Palestinians consider Land Day a national day.

Hamas official says change to Hamas charter is "a tactical step," maintains "our land is all of Palestine"
Source: Amad, independent Palestinian news website, Mar. 28, 2017
"Member of the Hamas movement's political bureau Mahmoud Al-Zahar emphasized... in an interview with the Lebanese [TV] channel Al-Mayadeen that is close to Hezbollah... that the new document that Hamas will publish does not constitute a new face, but rather explains the reality and fundamentals of the movement.
He said: 'Our principles say that our land is all of Palestine, including the land that is under occupation (i.e., Israel).' He also noted that the talk in the document about establishing a state in the West Bank and Gaza 'is a tactical step that does not harm the right of the Palestinians to all of the land of Palestine.' Al-Zahar continued: 'We are not a copy of Fatah. We are not a copy of a failed project.' He noted that only the Jews who occupied Palestine are the movement's enemies, and not all of the Jews."

Hamas leader: "Expel them from the 1948 borders"
Source: Al-Aqsa TV (Hamas), Mar. 8, 2017
Al-Aqsa TV, speech by Hamas leader Mahmoud Al-Zahar
Hamas leader Mahmoud Al-Zahar: “Allah says in the Quran: ‘And expel them from wherever they have expelled you’ (Quran, Sura 2:191, Sahih International translation). According to the grammarians , the word ‘from’ notes partialness. Where did the Jews expel us from? From the 1967 borders or from the 1948 borders (i.e., Israel)? From the 1948 borders. Expel them from the 1948 borders, like they expelled you. In other words, the Jews leaving the lands occupied in 1948 (i.e., Israel) is a principle that is unchangeable because it is mentioned in Allah’s book. ‘And expel them from wherever they have expelled you.’ ...We want Palestine, all of Palestine, and not one grain of soil less.
It is said in the Quran: ‘And kill them wherever you overtake them’ (Quran, Sura 2:191, Sahih International translation). We do not recognize the difference between the 1967 borders and the 1948 borders. We will resist them where we can. Aboveground, underground, and if we will have planes to fly we will fight them from the skies.”

He added: 'The revolution is still continuing until this day, and that is what members of the Palestinian people are translating [into action] by their resistance to the Zionist enemy with knives. We will pursue you [Zionists] with car rammings and kill you with rocks, Allah willing, and we will defeat you, and through intelligence, culture, and art, we will hold you accountable. PA Refugee Affairs Director: We will never allow Palestinian refugee problem to be solved until they receive full rights in their original homes
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Jan. 16, 2017
Headline: “Al-Agha warns…”

“PLO Executive Committee member and Director of the Department for Refugee Affairs Zakaria Al-Agha warned of a deliberate political blow to the Palestinian cause, including the cause of the refugees.
Media outlets reported on the plan of the so-called National Salvation Front in Syria for an arrangement with Israel. [This plan] includes abolishing the Palestinian refugee camps in Syria and turning them into residential areas…
Al-Agha said that the National Salvation Front in Syria, which we know does not represent the opinions of our Syrian brothers, has no right to seek to appease the occupation government at the expense of the Palestinian cause, the first and foremost cause of the Arabs. [He added that] the Palestinian refugee camps will remain a symbol of the Nakba (i.e., “the catastrophe,” Palestinian term for the establishment of the State of Israel) of the Palestinian refugees, their being uprooted, their suffering, and their sacrifice, until they attain their full rights through their return to the homes from which they were uprooted, and this is according to the resolutions of the international institutions, and particularly UN General Assembly Resolution 194 from 1948.”

UN resolution 194 (Chapter 11, Dec. 11, 1948) states that "the refugees wishing to return to their homes and live at peace with their neighbors should be permitted to do so at the earliest practicable date, and that compensation should be paid for the property of those choosing not to return." Palestinian leaders argue this means that all Arabs who left Israel during the war (hundreds of thousands) and their descendants (a few million) have a "right of return" to Israel. Israel argues that the resolution only calls for a limited return and only under certain conditions, especially focusing on the words "wishing to return... and live at p

Fatah Central Committee member Azzam Al-Ahmad: "We agree to a state on territory that is 22%, and perhaps less, of the land of historical Palestine. By the way, I personally ? all of our [family's] lands, thousands of acres in the Jezreel Valley (i.e., Israel) ? none are in the '67 lands (i.e., West Bank), but rather in the '48 (i.e., in Israel). Despite this, I am certain that a Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967 will return my historical rights to me in full. I am certain of it. Therefore, I am certain that we need to start. The historical examples of this are many. North Vietnam. There was a North and a South [Vietnam]. What is its name now? Vietnam! Isn't it?"

The post refers to a UN Security Council resolution demanding an end to Israeli settlement building, which passed on Dec. 23, 2016, by a vote of 14-0 with one abstention. The US abstained instead of vetoing the resolution, in a breach of longstanding US policy of not allowing the UN to force conditions on Israel in place of direct negotiations. This policy change came during US President Barack Obama’s final weeks in office.

PFLP member: PLO plan for Palestinian state within the '67 borders is a "temporary goal and does not mean that Palestine belongs to the Jews"
Source: Wattan (independent Palestinian news agency)‎, Nov. 29, 2016
Headline: “If we had accepted the partition agreement 69 years ago, would our situation have been better? Wattan asks the opinions of analysts and the factions”
“Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) political bureau member Khalida Jarrar, in her interview with the [independent Palestinian news] agency Wattan, referred to [UN] partition Resolution 181 and asked how the Palestinians could have accepted the partition resolution at a time when Balfour had given a promise (i.e., the Balfour Declaration) that Palestine is the national homeland of the Jews! From this starting point, the refusal was a matter of principle as Palestine belongs to the Palestinians.
Jarrar denied the possibility of the implementation of the resolution at the time if the Palestinians had agreed to it, as the Zionist project is based on them settling in all of Palestine, and not in part of it.
Regarding the PLO, she said: ‘The national consensus plan of the PLO talked about a fully sovereign Palestinian state within the ‘67 borders as a temporary goal and does not mean that Palestine belongs to the Jews. It means that the matter depends on the right of return, in other words, a fully sovereign independent Palestinian state together with the right of all of the refugees to return to the homes from which they were expelled.’”

PA Foreign Minister on Palestinian radio: Britain must “issue a new promise that will end the promise from 99 years ago [i.e. the Balfour Declaration, considered basis for Israel’s establishment]”
Source: The Voice of Palestine, official PA radio station, Nov. 2, 2016
Official PA radio station The Voice of Palestine program A New Day, interview with PA Minister of Foreign Affairs Riyad Al-Malki on his meeting with British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson

PA Minister of Foreign Affairs Riyad Al-Malki:
“We spoke not only about the Balfour Promise (i.e., Declaration) but also about several additional topics that we think are of great significance and which should be monitored together with the British officials. Regarding the Balfour Promise we pointed out that it is most important that Britain issue a new promise that will end the promise from 99 years ago. A new promise that will speak about Britain’s commitment to the Palestinian people’s right of self-determination, and Britain’s support for the establishment of a Palestinian state and the recognition of the State of Palestine, that is the minimum. Likewise we spoke about the historical responsibility of Britain in light of what happened as a result of the Balfour Promise and the apology required from Britain if it has the daring and the courage to bear responsibility in light of what happened to the Palestinian people as a result of the Balfour Promise...”

Note: Al-Malki stated that in his meeting with Johnson it was agreed that the British government would give a response in the coming days.

The Balfour Declaration of Nov. 2, 1917 was a letter from British Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour to Baron Rothschild stating that “His Majesty's government views with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people” and is seen as the basis for later international commitments to establish the State of Israel.

PA Supreme Fatwa Council condemns "invasions" of Al-Aqsa Mosque, calls on Palestinians to protect the mosque at all costs "until Allah inherits the land and everything in it"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Sept. 30, 2016
Headline: “The Fatwa Council: Exploiting Jerusalem as part of the American election campaign constitutes disrespect of international law”
“The [PA Palestinian] Supreme Fatwa Council condemned the election promise that US Candidate Donald Trump made to recognize Jerusalem as the ‘united capital’ of Israel if he is elected as president…
The council warned of the regional consequences of an escalation in the rate of the invasions of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, which constitutes a red line for Muslims throughout the world. Likewise, it clarified that the occupation authorities have escalated the rate of their invasions of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque for what are called the Jewish holidays, and that these invasions reveal their aggressive intentions towards it and verify the falseness of their claim to commit to retaining the historic status quo that exists there… The council urged everyone who can come to the Al-Aqsa Mosque to invest the maximum efforts to reach it and strengthen the presence there so as to defend it, and emphasized that our people will adhere to their mosque, regardless of the price and sacrifices that will be required, until Allah inherits the land and everything in it.”

The PA and its leaders consider all of the Temple Mount an integral part of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Therefore they view any presence of Jews on the mount as an "invasion." It should be noted that Jews who visit the Temple Mount only enter some sections of the open areas, and do not enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque or the Dome of the Rock.
