PA depicts a world without Israel
The Palestinian Authority makes no attempt to educate its people towards peace and coexistence with Israel. On the contrary, from every possible platform it repeatedly rejects Israel's right to exist, presents the conflict as a religious battle for Islam, depicts the establishment of Israel as an act of imperialism, and perpetuates a picture of the Middle East, both verbally and visually, in which Israel does not exist at all. Israel's destruction is said to be both inevitable and a Palestinian obligation.

The following description of Israel's founding in a Palestinian schoolbook represents the dominant dogma about Israel:

"Palestine’s war ended with a catastrophe that is unprecedented in history, when the Zionist gangs stole Palestine … and established the so-called State of Israel."
[Arabic Language, Analysis, Literature and Criticism, grade 12, p. 104]
This official PA map of "Palestine” was broadcast on PA TV in September 2011. The map includes both the PA areas and all of Israel (excluding the Golan Heights) wrapped in the Palestinian flag - a symbol of Palestinian sovereignty over the whole area - and has a key through it, symbolizing ownership. Similar maps presenting all of Israel as "Palestine" appear in Palestinian schoolbooks and are shown regularly on PA TV.
Future: A world without Israel
The PA promises its people that in the future, the State of Israel will be completely erased and replaced by a State of Palestine. A Fatah member of Palestinian parliament, Najat Abu Bakr, told PA TV that the PA supports and adopts the “stages plan.” To the world, the PA claims that the Palestinians seek the West Bank and Gaza Strip, when in fact the goal is all of Israel: “It doesn’t mean that we don’t want the 1948 borders, but in our current political program we say we want a state on the 1967 borders.” [PA TV (Fatah), Aug. 25, 2008]

Fatah Central Committee member Abbas Zaki reiterated this position on Al-Jazeera TV:
“It is impossible to realize the inspiring idea or the great goal in one stroke… Israel will come to an end… If I say that I want to remove it from existence, this will be great, great, [but] it is hard. This is not a [stated] policy. You can't say it to the world. You can say it to yourself.” [Al-Jazeera TV, Sept. 23, 2011]

The following words from a song on official PA TV, which started to appear in 2012, expresses longing for the day that Jaffa, Acre, Haifa and the Galilee, all in Israel, will be part of “my country” (“Palestine”) where all cities would be accessible "with no borders":
"I wish I could enter my country with no borders...
I will go about in Bethlehem and in Al-Aqsa [Mosque], which is held captive...
I do not forget Jenin or Nablus, and the Galilee
I do not forget you, Jaffa…
To Jerusalem, to Ramle, to Acre, to Haifa, oh Lord...
I wish I could enter my country with no borders." [PA TV (Fatah), Feb. 9, 2012]

The PA’s using culture to long for the destruction of Israel is not new. Many examples can be seen in this section below, including a music video, which aired on official PA TV from 2007 – 2009 and promises the liberation of “Palestine,” listing numerous Israeli cities as “Palestine”:
"We will liberate the Land of the religions … Palestine is Arab in history and identity… From Jerusalem and Acre, from Haifa and Jericho and Gaza and Ramallah, from Bethlehem and Jaffa, Be'er Sheba and Ramle, and from Nablus to the Galilee, from Tiberias to Hebron.”
Finally, the newest PA schoolbooks teach that "Palestine will be liberated by its men, its women, its young ones and its elderly." [Arabic Language and the Science of Language, grade 12, p. 44]
Israeli Arab MP explicitly calls for Jews to leave Israel

Official PA TV program Face to Face, hosting Israeli Arab MP Ahmad Tibi
MP Ahmad Tibi: “My response to [Israeli Minister of Transportation and Minister of Intelligence and Atomic Energy] Yisrael Katz was: ‘You who pass through the sea of transient words / take your names and leave/ and take what you want from the sand of memory and leave.’ There are parliament members who understand Arabic. There was a bit of a stir. I told them, in order to be even clearer, that I would translate the poem into Hebrew. I translated it well. I read it to them in Hebrew and told them: The occupation will not persist. Yisrael Katz comes and Yisrael Katz goes, and Jerusalem and Nazareth forever stand strong. And I mean every word.”

Fatah states that Palestinians have “right” to state on “its entire homeland, not a small part of it”
Source: Ma’an, independent Palestinian news agency, Oct. 18, 2015
Headline: “The Fatah party supports uprising and calls on the [Palestinian] Legislative Council to convene”
“Fatah’s parliamentary party confirmed its support of the extensive popular uprising for the Al-Aqsa Mosque and its objection to the Judaization and the division (of the Al-Aqsa Mosque according to times and areas –Ed.).  The party emphasized the Palestinian people’s right to resist the occupation, the ‘oppressor that sits on our chest, until the liberation and establishment of a Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital.’  The party stated in an announcement received by Ma’an [news agency]: ‘We are a people with a right to live like the rest of the peoples of the world, in an independent state on the land of its entire homeland, not on a small part of it, ruled by herds of settlers who ravage it.’
The party sent its honor and admiration to Palestine’s glorious women, who have always proved that they are partners and fighters who lead the ranks.’
Likewise, the announcement emphasized the importance of the unity and rallying around our right to fight and resist until victory and the establishment of the [Palestinian] state.”

"Division according to areas and times" refers to a proposed law (May 2013) being reviewed in Israeli Parliament that would allow for both Jews and Muslims to pray on the Temple Mount. The law seeks to designate separate prayer times and areas of the site for Muslims and Jews. Israeli PM Netanyahu has stated on many occasions that the Israeli government has no intention of ‎changing the status quo on the Temple Mount.

PA daily op-ed: The land will be redeemed by the Arabs, “the true owners of the land”

Op-ed by Fatah Revolutionary Council member Bakr Abu Bakr, regular columnist for official PA daily
Headline: “The rage of Jerusalem – the system of open hands”
“Palestine is ours since the period of the Canaanites (members of the Kinana Arab tribe), the Arab Jebusites, and the Arab Philistines (the Palestinians) (worshippers of the Arab god Falas in Yemen), and from time immemorial… It is ours since the last Arab immigration 200-300 years BCE, as a result of the collapse of the emirates/regions of the tribes of the Children of Israel (the Arab Yemenite [tribe] in Yemen)…  In our land, as the archeologists say today… the Arab Children of Israel tribe, weak in numbers, was unimportant and never ruled, given the existence of dozens of other tribes in Palestine (in general, there is no connection between the people of Israel, the Arab Yemenite tribe which has been wiped off the stage of history and the present Jewish residents of Palestine who are mainly Jews from Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, [the region] between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea, and then east and west Europe – see [the writings of] Shlomo Sand (author of The Invention of the Jewish People, which claims that that the ancestry of most contemporary Jews stems mainly from outside the Land of Israel -Ed.) and Arthur Koestler (author of The Thirteenth Tribe, which advances the thesis that Ashkenazi Jews are descended from the Khazars Ed.), two fair Jews.) (parenthesis in source) The invasions of Palestine which occurred one after the other – the Persians, Greeks, Romans, and in modern times the English and the Zionist entity – are nothing but a prelude to its redemption by the Arabs, the true owners of the land.”

Egyptian Sheikh on PA TV: “The reason for all ‎your problems is Israel. You need to solve the ‎Israel problem”‎
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Sept. 11, 2015
Official PA TV program Reflections, hosting Egyptian Sheikh ‎Nabil Na’im:
Sheikh Nabil Naim: “The Israeli involvement in ‎what is happening in Syria is evident to all. ISIS ‎and Jabhat Al-Nusra, where do they receive ‎treatment? In the Israeli hospitals. The weapons ‎that ISIS receives come from Turkey and Israel. ‎The one who created the problems in the ‎region’s countries is Israel…‎ Who destroyed Iraq? Iraq was destroyed by ‎America. Do you not agree? They have Brzezinski, ‎the Jewish leader (Zbigniew Brzezinski, advisor to ‎Jimmy Carter on national security, a non-Jew, and ‎a severe critic of Israel –Ed.) - he said: ‘In order to ‎create ‘Greater Israel’ from the Euphrates to the ‎Tigris, it is necessary to dismantle the [Arab] ‎countries adjacent to Israel and turn them into ‎warring sectarian and ethnic frameworks…‎ Israel is not interested only in Palestine. In the ‎Israeli parliament Israel’s borders are from the ‎Nile to the Euphrates. On the Israeli flag [the ‎stripes] symbolize the Nile and the Euphrates, with ‎David’s Kingdom between them… We want to say ‎to the people: ‘The reason for all your problems is ‎Israel. You need to solve the Israel problem. Do ‎you understand? Israel is linked to the problem of ‎the dam in Ethiopia. Israel is linked to the crisis in ‎southern Sudan. Poem read on PA TV: “The sea of Jaffa belongs to us, and the accursed took it from us, and it will return to us in the future”
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Sept. 7, 2015
Official PA TV program Palestine this Morning, interview with the Palestinian poet Rania Hatem who won a poetry contest in Jordan. Rania Hatem reads one of her poems:
“My mother told me that the sea of Jaffa belongs to us, and the accursed took it from us, and it will return to us in the future, because there is an orchard which belongs to the Diab Family and Alaa Al-Din family. My mother has died and Jaffa still awaits the return of the missing; even its loving sea longs for the exiled.
In the name of Allah tell me: Who will I cry for? The captive Al-Aqsa [Mosque], or the Martyrs, or the prisoners? Or I will say to you: The greatest sorrow is for all of you, O Palestine.”

Head of the Supreme Islamic Council: “The Israeli occupation is void, and has no authority or legitimacy, and in the end it will pass [from the world], Allah willing”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, July 27, 2015
Headline: “Al-Aqsa calls for help: desecration, violation, and attack of worshippers”
“[Head of the Supreme Islamic Council in Jerusalem Sheikh Ikrima] Sabri stated: ‘The fact that the Israeli occupation continues to do as it wishes in the Al-Aqsa Mosque is a heinous crime. The responsibility for protecting the Al-Aqsa Mosque lies on the shoulders of all Palestinians, and therefore we call to the people of our nation throughout occupied Palestine – from the [Mediterranean] sea to the [Jordan] river – to be present at the holy [Al-Aqsa] plaza in Jerusalem, and to cry out for it.’ He emphasized that the entire Palestinian society must unite in order to help Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Sheikh Sabri explained: ‘The fact that the Arab world is occupied with internal warfare and civil war does not excuse it from its responsibility for Jerusalem, the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and Palestine.’ He added: ‘The Israeli occupation is void, and has no authority or legitimacy, and in the end it will pass [from the world] Allah willing. Jerusalem, the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and Palestine belong to us, and we will never relinquish them.’”

On July 26, 2015 Israeli police forces broke into the Al-Aqsa Mosque after Palestinian youth had barricaded themselves inside it during the night, armed with stones and fireworks. Clashes broke out, during which 4 Israeli policemen were injured.

PA Mufti calls on Islamic world to defend the Al-Aqsa Mosque from “continuing attacks” and “desecration,” warns of “impending religious war
Source: Al-Ayyam, July 14, 2015
This article was published by WAFA (the official Palestinian news agency) on July 13, 2015, and on Al-Ayyam on July 14, 2015.
: “PA Mufti Sheikh Muhammad Hussein calls to increase visits to Al-Aqsa”
“PA Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian Territories and preacher at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Muhammad Hussein called to increase visits to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, in order to thwart the escalating Israeli calls to invade the Al-Aqsa Mosque [compound ] and hold Talmudic ceremonies (i.e., Jewish prayers) in its pure courtyards. This was after the extremist Temple organizations called on their supporters to organize a Jewish demonstration in front of the Golden Gate (in Jerusalem’s old city walls –Ed.) this Tuesday [July 14, 2015], the 27th of Ramadan, in order to demand that the Al-Aqsa Mosque [compound] be closed to all Muslims during the anniversary of the so-called ‘destruction of the Temple.’ (i.e.,Tisha B’Av – see note). The Mufti considered this call a dangerous escalation, and explained that the continuing attack against the Al-Aqsa Mosque, its desecration, and the encouragement of the extremists to visit it, indicate an impending religious war. In addition, he stated that the calls and the aggressive plans inciting to desecrate the Al-Aqsa Mosque and its courtyards and to harm it have increased during the month of Ramadan. The Mufti called on worshippers from Jerusalem and the 1948 territories (i.e., Israel) and anyone who is able to reach the Al-Aqsa Mosque from across the homeland, to make every effort to visit it and strengthen their presence in it, in order to protect it from the ongoing and increasing attacks against it."

Abbas advisor anticipates day when Israel is "defeated, its settlers expelled, and Palestine is purified from their filth"
Source: Facebook page of Advisor to PA Chairman Abbas on NGOs and member of Fatah Central Committee Sultan Abu Al-Einein, July 7, 2015
Posted to Facebook page of Advisor to PA Chairman Abbas on NGOs and member of Fatah Central Committee Sultan Abu Al-Einein on July 7, 2015, a few days after the death of Muhammad Al-Kusbeh, who participated in throwing stones at an Israeli army force near the Qalandiya refugee camp on July 3, 2015. Al-Kusbeh was killed by gunfire from Israeli soldiers whose vehicle came under attack. Palestinian reports claimed Al-Kusbeh was shot while trying to climb over the separation fence.
“We have no more concessions to make, but we should have more options. In the next conflict, we need to open all the gates so the Martyrs will be at peace in their last resting place, so the bereaved mothers will be satisfied, so the wounds of our injured will heal, and so that the prisoners will hold their heads high to Heaven. This nation will not remain silent for long about this piracy and these crimes, while drawing its high motivation from the saying ‘The darkest hours are those before dawn,’ and the dawn of our people will come. It will come when its country is formed, when the land of its homeland is completely liberated, when its hostages return, when the hated occupation is defeated, and its settlers expelled, and Palestine is purified from them and their filth.”

PA daily prints poem calling for “the sword” to kill Israelis “and purify the land from the impurities of the infidels”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, May 13, 2015
Headline: “The land is full of foreigners and Mongols”
[From a poem by Palestinian poet Mustafa Khaddash:]
“67 years of degradation and shame
And the flare of fire in the depths of the heart
67 years in dark depths
The fruit of the plot of the thieves of the family’s land and house
67 years in a burning furnace
Has left us nothing but determination and perseverance
67 years in the forest and in it gangs
Of cobras and predatory and murderous animals

Where is Qutuz, I wonder, and where is Baibars
The land is full of foreigners and Mongols
Where is the sword of Saladin, to destroy them
And purify the land from the impurities of the infidels.”

PA officials compare Israel to Nazi Germany, and, like the Nazis, “are doomed to disappear”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, May 8, 2015
Headline: “Jericho: Celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the Russian people’s victory over the Nazis”
“The Russian ambassador to Palestine, Alexander Rudakov, expressed his hope that the Palestinian people would succeed in establishing an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital… These statements were made during his speech at the Russian Museum hall in the Jericho city center as part of the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the Soviet Union and the friendly Russian people’s victory over the Nazis… PLO Executive Committee member [and Fatah Central Committee member] Saeb Erekat said that the victory of the Soviets and the Russian people, and the fact that they sacrificed around 67 million [people] are a victory for truth, justice and humanity and not only for the Russian people. In addition, he said that the oppression and injustice, whatever their degree of tyranny and duration, are doomed to disappear, and that the occupation of Palestine would not last for long – regardless of how much the occupation authorities try to evade, deny and act abusively.
Deputy District Governor of Jericho and the Jordan Valley Jamal Rajoub said that the only occupation at present is the Israeli occupation, and that the anniversary of the victory of the friends in Russia over the Nazis takes place close to the 67th anniversary of the Palestinian people’s Nakba (i.e., 'the catastrophe,' Palestinian term for the establishment of the State of Israel) and to the 47th anniversary of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank’s occupation by the neo-Nazis, who oppressed and tortured the citizens and deprived them of their most basic rights. In addition, he said that the Russians’ victory over the Nazis is a glimmer of hope for us as Palestinians because we will definitely prevail.”

Poem written by PA official and printed in the PA daily claims all Israel as “Palestine” that “belongs/returns to us”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Mar. 30, 2015
The following verses were included in a poem on Land Day by Palestinian Ambassador to Libya and former Deputy Minister of Information in the PA, poet Al-Mutawakkil Taha:
“On Land Day,
The land belongs/returns to us,
From Rosh Hanikra (i.e., Israel’s northernmost point) to Eilat (i.e., Israel’s southernmost point)
From its sea shore to the Dead Sea,
namely, the living sea,
for we gave it free blood,
that shimmers
in the midst of the water
the land, Palestine, belongs/returns to us
and there is nothing apart from it
today, tomorrow and yesterday.”

Note: Land Day – an annual commemoration of the general strike and demonstrations organized by Israeli Arab residents of the Galilee on March 30, 1976 to protest the Israeli government's decision to expropriate land in the Galilee for security and settlement purposes, which it later implemented. During the protests, demonstrators burnt tires, blocked roads, and threw rocks and firebombs. Six demonstrators were shot and killed by the Israeli army and police. Israeli Arabs and Palestinians consider Land Day a national day.
