PA government: Israeli salaries law is “theft,” “the government will not abandon the prisoners and the Martyrs’ families”

Headline: “The [PA] government: The law to deduct the allowances of the prisoners and the Martyrs’ [families]”
“The [PA] national unity government condemned the approval of what is called ‘the law to deduct the allowances of the prisoners and the Martyrs’ (Shahids’) [families] from the Palestinian [PA] tax money’ by the Israeli Parliament (sic., the bill passed the Israeli Parliament Committee on Security and Foreign Affairs on June 27, 2018, prior to a general vote in the Israeli Parliament; see note below). Official [PA] Government Spokesman Yusuf Al-Mahmoud said that this ‘law’ openly and blatantly gives legitimacy to the theft of the Palestinian people’s money, and targets our national symbols and the symbols of the defense of freedom and honor… He added that the government will not abandon the prisoners and the Martyrs’ families, who have paid with their years and lives for the people, homeland, and all of humanity, because they struggled against the Israeli occupation that constitutes part of the injustice that harms people everywhere in the world.”

Bill to deduct terror salaries from PA tax money - A bill to deduct the amount of money the PA pays imprisoned terrorists and families of "Martyrs" from the tax money Israel collects for the PA, which passed the Israeli Parliament Committee on Security and Foreign Affairs on June 27, 2018, clearing the way for a second and third reading in Israeli Parliament. The bill would freeze the deducted money and have Israel hold it indefinitely. Should the PA not pay terrorists' salaries or allowances to families of "Martyrs" for a full year, the Israeli government would have the option of giving all or part of the frozen money to the PA.
