Fatah compares ISIS attacks against ‎France, Lebanon and Russia to Israeli “terror” against Palestinians

Image and text posted on the official Facebook page of the Fatah Movement on Nov. 14, 2015

In addition to the flag of “Palestine,” the image shows the flags of Russia, Lebanon and France, referring to recent terror attacks in and against these countries. An explosion on a Russian plane over the Sinai peninsula in Egypt which killed everyone on board, 224 passengers and crew (Oct. 31, 2015), a double suicide bombing in Beirut, Lebanon, which killed at least 41 (Nov. 12, 2015) and the attacks in Paris, France, which killed 129 and wounded over 300 in several simultaneous attacks (Nov. 13, 2015). The Islamic State terror organization has claimed responsibility for the three attacks.

Fatah’s post exploits the terror attacks against Russia, Lebanon and France to demonize Israel, falsely claiming that Israel is perpetrating the same acts of terror against Palestinians. Ironically, Fatah’s claim comes at a time when Israel is defending itself against numerous Palestinian shooting and stabbing attacks in a wave of terror attacks which has been ongoing since the end of September 2015 and in which 14 Israelis have been killed. Palestinian Media Watch has documented that these attacks have never once been condemned by Abbas or any other PA or Fatah official, on the contrary, these institutions headed by Abbas have both fueled the Palestinian rage and encouraged more violence.

: “Terror is terror and we condemn all terror. Be it destroying houses in Nablus and killing our children by Israel or hitting a Russian plane over Egypt. The Paris attacks are criminal acts done by coward terrorists.”
