Official PA daily: Netanyahu "invented" a kidnapping "story" out of a "crazed ambition" to prevent a Palestinian state
Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida - July 16, 2014

Op-ed by Yahya Rabah, columnist for the ‎official PA daily and a member of the ‎Fatah Leadership Committee in Gaza
‎     “Israel, which embarked on this war over a ‎month ago – [this war] which culminated ‎in a bloody attack in Gaza ten days ago – ‎had been negotiating with the PLO, and ‎these negotiations were being conducted ‎with the mutual consent of both sides and ‎under the patronage of Israel’s greatest ‎ally, the US…‎
But suddenly, Netanyahu overturned the ‎table, torpedoed the negotiations, and ‎invented, together with his [security] ‎forces, a vague story – the kidnapping and ‎murder of the three Israeli youths – and ‎Israel hastily and madly initiated a war that ‎had been planned [from the start].‎
Why? Why torpedo the negotiations? Why ‎this frenzied and bloody attack? ...‎
The answer has become clear, ‎transparent and visible to all: Netanyahu ‎wants to circumvent the idea of the ‎Palestinian state and remove from ‎discussion the section on the [Palestinian] ‎state.”‎

Note: On June 12, 2014, three Israeli teens, Eyal Yifrach, 19, Gilad Shaar, 16, and Naftali Frenkel, 16, were kidnapped by Hamas terrorists while they were hitchhiking in the West Bank. Israel responded to the kidnapping by conducting house-to-house searches in Hebron and arresting hundreds of Hamas members. The boys' bodies were found by Israeli security forces near Hebron on June 30, 2014. They appeared to have been shot to death soon after the abduction.
Subsequently, Hamas began firing hundreds of rockets at Israel. Israel responded with Operation Protective Edge, which aimed at destroying Hamas' terror infrastructure and ability to launch rockets at Israel. This article was published during the 2014 Gaza conflict.
