Palestinian envoy to the UN: Israel murdered 159 “Martyrs” during October “uprising” i.e. terrorists who were killed while carrying out attacks
“Palestine’s general observer at the UN, Ambassador Riyad Mansour, stated that the situation in the occupied State of Palestine, including East Jerusalem, is one of continuous deterioration, and our people continues to suffer as the Israeli aggression and the illegal punitive measures it [Israel] takes against it [the Palestinian people] intensify. Mansour added in the identical letters he sent to the Secretary General of the UN [Ban Ki-moon], the head of the UN Security Council (Uruguay), and the head of the UN General Assembly [Mogens Lykketoft] that if the international community does not respond to the calls of the Palestinian leadership to provide international protection to its people, additional innocents will die and any glimmer of hope for a peaceful solution that would liberate our people from its life under Israeli rule and occupation will disappear… Mansour said that since the beginning of the popular uprising in October 2015, 159 Palestinians have died as Martyrs (Shahids), including 29 children and 7 women, at the hands of the occupation forces and the terrorist Israeli settlers.”
