“The Ministry of Prisoners’ Affairs said that the increase in cases of malignant diseases among prisoners in recent years has become a phenomenon that should be examined and that it is a worrying phenomenon that is endangering the prisoners’ lives.
A Ministry report stated that the prisons have become a source of epidemics and a slow-executing guillotine and that they are prisons not fit for human beings. [The report also stated that] the level of treatment given to the prisoners is intentionally insignificant and that it is important to send an international committee now to investigate the causes for the spread of malignant diseases among the prisoners.”
