PA Foreign Ministry calls the Balfour Declaration ‎a “historic mistake” and a “crime”‎

‎“The [PA] Foreign Ministry said that the ‎present anniversary of the Balfour ‎Promise (i.e., Declaration) was different ‎than that of previous years – although this ‎ominous Promise reflected a colonialist ‎occupation mentality, expressed at the ‎time in official British positions by way of a ‎criminal exploitation of the power balance ‎‎– because this year, the anniversary ‎comes against the backdrop of the vote of ‎the British House of Commons by an ‎overwhelming majority, to rectify this ‎historic mistake, made by the British ‎government about one hundred years ‎ago… Nonetheless, we condemn today, ‎as we have done in previous years, this ‎ominous anniversary, the consequences ‎of which have yet to be alleviated, and for ‎which crime against the Palestinian ‎people Britain has yet to apologize for the ‎past hundred years.”‎
From WAFA, official PA news agency

Note:‎ The Balfour Declaration of Nov. 2, 1917 ‎was a letter from British Foreign Secretary ‎Arthur Balfour to Baron Rothschild stating ‎that “His Majesty's government view with ‎favour the establishment in Palestine of a ‎national home for the Jewish people” and ‎is seen as the basis for later international ‎commitments to establish the State of ‎Israel.‎
