“What researchers trying to compare the two causes could not identify was that the Palestinian issue was a tangible issue, on the ground and in history, with real presence in reality. In addition, all European leaders sought to create a cheap, low-cost mechanism that would ensure the fragmentation of the Arab region in order to steal the resources of the peoples of the Arab nation. Therefore, they used the Zionist colonialist entity and collaborated with it, in accordance with developments in the international capitalist camp, and in a manner that would serve the interests of Europe and the US… Were it not for Europe’s [support] since Napoleon’s call in 1978, King Wilhelm II (i.e., last German Emperor and King of Prussia, ruled from 1888 to 1918. –Ed.) in the second half of the 19th century, Britain’s adoption of the Zionist movement since the mandate over Palestine and the issuing of the Balfour promise (i.e., Declaration) in November 1917 and the subsequent American patronage and support, after it [the US] became the center of decisions and the leader of the Western camp following World War II, the Hebrew state would not have managed to exist and endure.”
Note: The Balfour Declaration of Nov. 2, 1917 was a letter from British Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour to Baron Rothschild stating that “His Majesty's government views with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people” and is seen as the basis for later international commitments to establish the State of Israel.
