PA TV calls for release of terrorist Marwan Barghouti and calls him a “hero”

Released prisoner, Muhammad Al-Taj: “Our imprisoned leaders, such as comrade Abu Ghassan - Ahmad Sa’adat, such as brother Marwan Barghouti - Abu Al-Qassam, Abbas Al-Sayid, all the prisoners, the prisoners who are members of the Palestinian Parliament (Legislative Council), they cannot be in prison, they should be leading their people. They should be leading their people to victory.”
PA TV host, Manal Seif: “There is an invitation here for anyone who may be interested: ‘The popular campaign to free fighter leader Marwan Barghouti and all the brave prisoners’ cordially invites you to the international ‘Freedom and Honor’ meeting which will be held on Saturday and Sunday, to commemorate the 11 years that have passed and the beginning of the 12th year since MP Marwan Barghouti was kidnapped. We send regards to brother Dr. Marwan Barghouti, member of the Fatah Central Committee. I wish you freedom, brother Abu Al-Qassam.”
Writing on screen: “Hero prisoner MP Marwan Barghouti. Date of arrest April 15, 2002.”
“Hero prisoner MP Marwan Barghouti was sentenced to five life sentences and an additional 40 years.”
Marwan Barghouti (in footage showing him speaking to the cameras in court): “I am prepared and all the prisoners are prepared to pay for the freedom of the Palestinian people with their freedom. I pay a price for my people’s freedom, for independence and for peace.”

Notes: Marwan Barghouti - serving five life sentences for orchestrating terror attacks against Israeli civilians. When arrested in 2002, he headed the Tanzim (Fatah terror faction). After he was convicted and imprisoned, he was re-elected member of the Palestinian Authority parliament.
Ahmad Sa’adat - serving a 30-year sentence for heading the PFLP terror organization. Song at PFLP event also praised him for planning the assassination of Israeli Minister of Tourism Rehavam Ze'evi in 2001, but he has not been tried for this crime.
Abbas Al-Sayid - serving 35 life sentences for planning two suicide bombings, one in 2002 at a Passover dinner, killing 30 Israelis, and another in 2001, killing 5 and wounding 100.
