Syrian in his origins and Palestinian in his leanings, a released prisoner who was accused of aiding the Palestinian resistance and smuggling weapons for it
He was sentenced to 12 years of imprisonment, of which he served 4 years, and was expelled by the occupation to Rome, where he died.
One of his famous sayings:
‘If Jesus was sent again, the Vatican would become the headquarters of the Fatah Movement’”

Hilarion Capucci – former Greek Catholic Archbishop of Jerusalem who exploited his status as a religious leader to smuggle weapons to Palestinian terrorists. He was arrested in 1974 and sentenced to 12 years in prison. He was released in 1977 due to the Vatican’s intervention. In October 2013, PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas awarded him the Star of Jerusalem Medal.
Intilaqa - "the Launch" refers to the beginning of Fatah on Jan. 1, 1965, when it carried out its first terror attack against Israel, attempting to blow up Israel's National Water Carrier.
